Chapter 726: Mana-Forged Colossus
Her actions drew everyone’s attention once more. After looking the young Archer over with clear excitement, she waved into the distance and shouted.

“Girls, get over here! We’ve got a genuine, pure-hearted virgin over here!”

Her voice carried, instantly grabbing the focus of even more people. A whole squad of female players came rushing over. In the blink of an eye, the young Archer vanished amid the crowd of women, disappearing from the circle of old dudes.

“H—hel…p… me!” his faint, strangled voice floated out from the female phalanx.

“Well, I’ll be damned… That actually worked?” one of the older guys who’d just been lecturing an scolding him muttered.

The group of men looked at each other, completely speechless. One moment they were mocking the kid for being oblivious and single, the next, he’d been literally carried off by a horde of women.

“Son of a bitch…” the old Mage grumbled bitterly.

The column moved on, trudging across the crimson earth.

BOOM…

BOOM…

A violent shuddering traveled through the ground, accompanied by a low, ominous…

WHUUUM… WHUUUM…

All eyes snapped toward the source of the sound.

There, towering a hundred meters high, was a green, mechanical monstrosity. With every step it took, the very earth trembled. With every lift of its leg came that deep, resonant mechanical hum, a sound that felt like a death knell, sending a primal chill of fear down their spines and raising cold sweats despite the blistering sun.

“Boss… we’re really gonna take a shot at that?” Leo asked, swallowing hard.

“You think we came all this way for the sightseeing?” Ethan replied, his own eyes narrowed as he studied the colossal figure.

“But that’s the bloody Mana-Forged Colossus! The thing they say can stomp a player flat with one step!” Victor chimed in, his own courage faltering.

Ethan had given them the coordinates but hadn’t said what they were doing here. They never imagined he intended to target this thing. This monster had remained unkilled since the launch of Ethereal. A level 70 elite, not even a world boss, that roamed the zone. Plenty of guilds had tried to take it down, hoping for epic loot. Every single attempt had ended in disaster.

The most recent attempt supposedly involved twenty full raids—six thousand players in total. The result? A massacre. The Colossus had enraged at 80% health, and then it was just… one stomp, one dead tank. After all the tanks were paste, the scene was unimaginable. One step, a whole group of players gone. No chance to even run.

So, this thing was considered an anomaly in Ethereal. Just an elite, yet its stats and health pool far surpassed most bosses. And with the current player base hovering between levels 45 and 50, facing a level 70 monster was simply suicidal. This level 70 patrolling elite was the highest-leveled, and the only one of its kind, in the entire Northern Frontier Region.

Seeing the apprehension on everyone’s faces, Ethan allowed himself a small smirk. “The monster… is always the predictable one. Let’s move.”

With that final glance at the Mana-Forged Colossus, he led the group north. They eventually arrived at a small box canyon. The canyon wasn’t large, with three sheer rock faces about a hundred meters high—roughly the same height as the Colossus.

“Grappling Launchers! All ranged, get to the top!” Once there, Ethan didn’t waste words, issuing the command directly.

The Grappling Launcher had become standard-issue for every Renegade Alliance member ever since Ethan led them to wipe out the Blade Syndicate in an ambush.

Hearing the order, Victor and Leo exchanged a look but said nothing. They knew other guilds had tried this kiting tactic before, using this exact same spot. But it had failed. Those guys wasted their grapples, with people waiting on the cliffs for over two hours, and the Colossus never showed up.

The reason was simple: the Colossus’s patrol path didn’t come close enough. Someone had to pull it. And without exception, every volunteer who tried to kite it had been stomped into a red smear on the ground.

The Colossus looked slow when it was just ambling along, but once it entered combat, those two pillar-like legs could move with shocking speed. Not even a Druid in Travel Form could outrun it. Furthermore, if it strayed from its path and its target just ran without attacking it, it would immediately turn around and head back to its patrol route.

They wondered what method Ethan had in mind to get it here. If he could get it into the canyon, then killing it was actually possible. It would just be a matter of time.

Once all the ranged players had scaled the cliffs—about eight hundred of them—they lined the edges. The space was incredibly tight; they were packed shoulder-to-shoulder, with no room for even one more person without someone getting pushed off.

“Leo, listen up,” Ethan commanded. “When that thing arrives, all tanks, do NOT try to establish threat. Your only job is body-blocking! The rest of the melee, you can attack, but your primary role is to assist the tanks in forming a wall. Do not let that thing step out of the canyon! Melee, if your health drops, move to stand near the canyon wall. The healers up top will get you. Find your spots now and test the range.”

“Got it. Leave it to me!” Leo thumped his chestplate and then started directing the remaining four hundred melee fighters to find positions where the healers’ spells could reach them. They took up positions on both sides of the canyon entrance, forming a loose pocket.

Watching this, Ethan’s lips curved into a smile. “We’re going to pull. Be ready to engage the second it’s in position.”

He finished speaking and his form shifted instantly. The travel form appeared once more. Lyla, the only ranged player not on the cliffs, leaped nimbly onto his back.

WHOOSH…

Ethan shot toward the Mana-Forged Colossus, Lyla riding on his back. When he reached a certain distance, he stopped, hovering in mid-air. Lyla stood steady on his back, reached over her shoulder, and drew the Legendary-Tier bow from its harness.
