711: A Hammer for a Mouth 711: A Hammer for a Mouth The man, hearing Celia’s retort, rolled his eyes thoughtfully.

He lowered his raised arm and spoke slowly, squinting.

“I just want to know why you’re ordering the components smelted.

You have to understand, as Blacksmiths, every component we forge is like our own child.

To have them destroyed on a whim…

it breaks our hearts!” As he said this, his expression remained unchanged, even adopting a mask of grief.

He made it sound utterly believable.

The Blacksmiths and Engineers behind him nodded in vigorous agreement, murmuring, “Yes, that’s right…

It’s truly heartbreaking.” “Pfft-” At that moment, Ethan, hidden beneath his hood, couldn’t suppress a derisive snort.

The sound of his laughter made Celia’s face pale.

She knew it was over.

Sure enough, the next instant, the bare-chested, bald Blacksmith raised his hammer again, this time pointing it at Ethan.

“Who’s the dumbass in the cloak?

What’s so funny?” he snarled.

Celia’s heart sank.

She glanced at Ethan, expecting an explosion, but found him standing rigidly still, not moving a muscle.

“Whew…” Celia let out a long, slow breath of relief.

‘Thank god…

It seems Ethan has learned to control his temper a bit.

I can’t believe he’s taking being cursed out like that.’ However…

was that really possible?

Beneath the hood, Ethan’s face was frozen in an expression of sheer, unadulterated shock.

He wasn’t speaking because he was, frankly, stunned.

In this life or his last, anyone who had dared to point a finger in his face and curse him out would have been long since buried, the grass on their grave a foot high.

He’d heard about the arrogance of the Reynolds Trading Company in his past life, but he’d never had the…

pleasure of witnessing it firsthand.

This was certainly an eye-opener.

Celia took a deep breath, suppressing her own anger.

Frankly, she couldn’t stand the Reynolds people either.

But they had no choice.

The Fortress Wars were about to begin, and her priority was to avoid making unnecessary enemies for the Renegade Alliance.

Seeing that Ethan remained silent and motionless, she turned her attention away from him and back to the crowd.

The bald Blacksmith, seeing this, looked immensely pleased with himself and slowly lowered the arm pointing at Ethan.

Whoosh…

Thud…

Smack…

But at that very moment, just as Celia’s head turned back, a black shadow flashed past her side.

Before she could even identify what it was, she saw the bald Blacksmith stiffen and plummet face-first towards the ground.

Celia was horrified.

She finally saw clearly-the black shadow was none other than Ethan.

Who else could it be?

The entire guild hall was empty save for the two of them.

While there were crafters present, they were all busy in their workshops and wouldn’t be out here.

Just as the bald man’s head was cocked awkwardly and his body was about to hit the pavement- Smack!

Ethan shifted his stance slightly and delivered a sharp, backhanded slap that sent the falling figure reeling back upright, only to topple over in the opposite direction.

He repeated the motion.

“Punching bag is no fun, it’s tiring having to bend over.

Let’s try a spinning top instead,” Ethan’s voice was calm, but in the dead silence that had fallen over the area, his quiet words carried clearly to everyone, punctuated only by the relentless smack…

smack…

smack…

of his strikes.

Then, with a flick of his wrist, a solid slap sent the Blacksmith standing straight, and a backhand immediately sent him spinning like a top.

His legs twisted like pretzels as Ethan’s relentless slaps made him rotate faster and faster.

It was only then that the onlookers realized why the bald Blacksmith, being slapped repeatedly, hadn’t made a single sound.

They also understood the source of the initial thud they’d heard just before the slapping began.

Couldn’t they see what was jammed in the man’s mouth?

It was the handle of his own forging hammer!

The man in the black cloak had shoved the foot-and-a-half-long hammer handle straight down the Blacksmith’s throat, the hammerhead firmly plugging his mouth.

No wonder he couldn’t make a sound.

If this were the real world, the man would be a goner.

That hammer handle was thick, at least an inch and a half in diameter!

The several dozen people present watched this scene, their faces undergoing dramatic changes.

They unconsciously swallowed hard.

How…

horribly uncomfortable that must be.

Celia, standing behind Ethan, saw it all too.

At first, her jaw dropped in shock.

A moment later, regaining her senses, she quickly shut her mouth.

Then, surprisingly, a strange, unreadable glint flashed in her eyes.

The Honorary Leader’s temples flushed a bright red.

For some reason, her earlobes and neck also turned scarlet.

She glanced at the crowd in the distance, ensuring no one was looking at her, then quickly recomposed her expression and coughed lightly.

“Ahem…

E-Ethan…

th-that’s enough.” Hearing Celia’s voice, Ethan half-turned his head towards her, a cheerful grin on his face.

“Don’t worry about it, Celia.

Just leave this to me!” He paused, his right hand never stopping its rhythmic slapping.

With his left hand, he flipped his hood back slightly, revealing a gaze of genuine curiosity as he looked at her.

“Hey, why’s your face so red?

Are you that pissed off?” His question caught Celia off guard.

She reached up and touched her cheek.

The burning sensation made her shoot Ethan a look that was equal parts embarrassment and fury.

Her eyes inadvertently flicked back to the bald Blacksmith, who was still spinning like a top under Ethan’s ministrations.

“Who’s bothering the Boss Lady?

I’ll pound ’em into paste!” a voice boomed.

“Celia, who’s upsetting you?” another voice chimed in.

The words came just as Ethan had finished speaking.

White flashes of light consecutively lit up the guild hall as over a hundred people used their Free teleport stones to teleport in.

The commotion drew Ethan’s attention away from Celia, so he missed the death glare she’d sent his way.

He recognized both voices instantly.

The first was Skyblade, aka Leo.

The second was Slashblade, none other than Celia’s husband, Victor.

Standing beside them was Williams, his in-game name SeraphWarrior.

The three of them pushed through the crowd and quickly moved to Ethan’s side.

Leo, holding a massive shield, slammed its base down onto the stone pavement with a resonant boom!

Victor went straight to Celia’s side, looking at her with concern.

He also noticed her flushed cheeks, his face a picture of confusion.

“Get lost!

Just you wait, I’ll deal with you after we log out!” Celia snapped at her husband.

Her response to Victor’s concern made Ethan, Leo, and Williams all swivel their heads to look, baffled as to why she was suddenly lashing out at Victor.

Victor himself looked utterly embarrassed and scratched his nose in bewilderment.

Celia immediately realized her slip.

Berating her husband like that in front of everyone wasn’t a good look.

Still, she shot him one more fierce glare before decisively changing the subject, launching into an explanation of what had just transpired.
