Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Everything
Chapter 330 – Everything

The legendary evolution stone glowed with an intense multicolored light with a distinct edge of black, parting away the thick darkness that surrounded the Disciple of Loss’s sanctuary.

Rea focused, her red eyes bearing an obvious glow of madness, deciding to bet everything she had on this quest.

The Disciple of Loss was still… lost. And yet, even she knew she had been fooled by her beautiful Rea, that suspicion becoming more true and deep as finally the stone stopped glowing and Rea obtained her quest.

It was strange, the two of them noticed. As this time, The Will showed the contents of Rea’s quest to be master ranked to both the Disciple of Loss and Rea.

{You have activated a Legendary Evolution Stone.}

{You have completed the necessary conditions to rank up.}

The Will paused, then…

{Rea Thornspire, The Sorrowful Bird. Your lineage is deep, your bloodline linked with the very origin of Sorrow. You have been touched by a god at your birth, your life being nothing but misery and distress.}

{Now, you have chosen your path, deciding to go against a god.}

{Then you shall walk it till the end.}

Once again, The Will paused, then slowly…

{You have obtained your evolution quest.}

{Swallow everything of your master, The Disciple of Loss.}

{Time limit: One week.}

Both of them looked at the content of the quest, and both of them couldn’t stop their faces from twisting into one creepy smile.

The manifestation of the Disciple of Loss — the grey eye — melted into grey smoke, before the darkness parted away like a yawning door opening, letting something — or someone — take the previous spot of the grey eye.

Rea immediately felt a foreboding pressure, her breath caught in her throat.

The being was a woman. She was tall, at least 7ft, her skin so pale you could believe no blood flowed beneath it. Her eyes were grey-black, with grey hair cascading down her shoulders.

She wore Saintess-like clothes in the colors of the church, with a red mark on her left shoulder showing her station as Disciple.

Her face was one of beauty, looking as if carved from the finest marble. Yet her eyes were filled with madness and hunger.

The Chosen One. One chosen by a god.

That was what her beautiful Rea was.

“I knew it,” she moaned, her voice thick with heavy, trembling emotion, slowly approaching Rea, “I knew you were special, my beautiful Rea! I knew it!”

She grabbed Rea’s face with her cold hands, cupping both cheeks, then pressed her forehead against hers.

“Be mine, my beautiful Rea,” she whispered, tears dripping from her eyes, “You have fooled me, but I will forgive you as long as you swear on The Will to be mine forever. No one will touch you, I promise you. I will kill all of them.”

“I will protect you, my beautiful Rea.”

Rea’s smile didn’t waver admist all her master’s monologue. Instead, she raised her hands and grabbed her face too, grinning widely,

“Then let’s do a pact, master.” She whispered.

“Use your power you love so much, and let’s do one last deal between us.”

“A battle of who will swallow the other. You swallow me, I am yours for all eternity. But…”

She grinned with absolute lunacy,

“But if I swallow you, then everything of you is mine.”

She paused, then said with an intensity that sent a shiver down the Disciple of Loss’s spine:

“Everything.”

A silence settled between them, their eyes locked with unwavering hunger, then slowly their faces were painted with matching smiles.

An obsessive smile, for the Disciple of Loss.

For Rea, one of absolute mania.

“Then come, my beautiful Rea.” The Disciple of Loss murmured, before her chest ripped open, parting into two, showing her heart, her organs, her entrails, and everything else inside. That was not all, her own head split even further, showing her brain and the entirety of what existed beneath her skull.

A tide of fear submerged Rea’s whole body, yet she welcomed it gladly, using it to enhance her whole self.

And in that state, the Disciple of Loss spoke clearly:

“Come inside me, O my beautiful Rea, and swallow me… or I will swallow everything of you.”

Rea didn’t hesitate. In one single motion, she stepped fully inside the Disciple of Loss.

An Epithet Realm being against an Intermediate Realm being.

And just like that…

“OH! MY BEAUTIFUL REA!!!!!!!”

…Rea’s master evolution quest started.

…

In another place of Fokay, in the far West, inside an Empire made for the Damned, the Empress of the Damned was slowly taking her breakfast with the forlorn morning of the empire.

Lydia Drought was inside her room, sitting in her bed while eating calmly, as if she were the most innocent person in the world with nothing to weigh on her mind.

She was still wearing her nightgown, showing her body more openly than usual, unveiling aspects of her no one would ever believe.

Lydia’s body from her chest to her knees was scarred. There were sword marks, burn marks, and the ferocious gnawing bites of beasts. Some parts of her body did not even share the same color, making it look like she had vitiligo.

A stunning sight, yet dreadful.

Only her face and the visible parts of her body when she wore her empress dress were unscarred, as if done on purpose.

At that moment, she looked more like a Viking warrior made for the wilderness than an empress ready to send her daughter like a whore for power.

Something one particular shadow didn’t quite fancy the idea of. And that was exactly why…

“Did you forget our deal?” The voice of Asael rippled through the room, as behind Lydia, on the wall, a stain of shadow began to appear before growing steadily like ink splashed on a blank sheet of paper.

Soon, Asael’s head appeared out of it, looking down at Lydia in all her scarred glory.

Lydia couldn’t help but smirk coldly, “Now, Shadow, did your mother not teach you to never enter the room of a lady unauthorized?” Her voice was cold as she raised her head and stared at Asael with her golden-and-red eyes.

Asael didn’t say anything, finally noticing her attire but also the scars on her body. He instinctively frowned, his expression not one of disgust but of intrigue. Inwardly, he was mesmerized by the sight of it.

Something Lydia noticed clearly. And yet,

“Are you deaf now?”

Asael snapped out of his trance and focused back on her, his face still unyielding, “Blame yourself. Next time, Lydia, make sure to lock your room properly. You have a Shadow now.” He said boldly, knowing well she would do nothing except scowl at him.

Swiftly, he continued, “And this was not our deal. I told you, anything that could affect my daughter negatively will make my oath to you worthless. And thus I will act without consequences.”

“I only instructed my daughter in a matter,” Lydia retorted calmly, then slowly pushed her tray of bread and oats to one side, and slowly stood up, showing her full curvy yet toned, muscled body, her black nightgown barely reaching her thighs.

“What does it matter to you?” she continued, then turned just enough to look at Asael over her shoulder, “Or do you still love my daughter? I hope not. It would be disappointing, you see, if that’s the case, Shadow.”

Asael scowled, turning his face away so as not to look at the sinful yet mesmerizing scarred body of Lydia. Then, “Her pain will affect Valentine. And that is what I care about the most,” he said.

“Yet I have no other choice,” Lydia said with a shrug, as she walked toward her mirror shelf, where a bunch of letters was sprawled across it.

“Our empire is in drought, and the River Kingdom has the best geographical location in the West, with rivers and edible forests around them, making them a self-sustaining kingdom completely different from ours.”

“Having their support will unlock trade routes, making us able to sustain ourselves, introduce more transactions with our people, and prepare for the battles to come. It is quite nice to wage wars, but if I have no food to feed my soldiers, I will walk into my own grave and that of this empire.”

She then took one letter, showing it to Asael, who was no longer on the wall, but standing, staring at her.

“This is the letter from King River, telling how his eldest son likes Rose and all the useless banter nobles are known for. But the point is, he promised many benefits for us if their union comes to be.”

At this point, Asael was standing behind her, their eyes locking into each other through the mirror.

Lydia smiled, “So, you see, Shadow? It needs to be done.”

“No need,” Asael said, “No need to sacrifice Rose. I will give you the River Kingdom myself.”

He fixed his gaze deep into her eyes, “It’s what you wanted, isn’t it?”

Lydia only smiled, then turned her body to face him. They were of the same height, so they looked at each other face to face.

She took one step closer, “I am almost jealous of how far you are ready to go for my daughter.”

“For my daughter,” Asael scowled.

Another step, “Are you sure?” she whispered, her lips almost touching his.

“Or is it that you want me gazing at my granddaughter with jealousy?”

At that distance, each of their breaths mingled together sensually.

“It’s none of your business, Lydia,” Asael grated, “You want the River Kingdom, I shall give it to you. But before going, I will slaughter all our enemies in this empire.”

Lydia grinned, “Our? You truly want to take my heart, it seems. Please go on, you are on the right path.”

Asael sighed, tired of Lydia’s unseriousness every time she was with him. Something she wasn’t even with her own daughter.

Unwilling to waste any more time, he gave one last glance at her body, then slowly began to sink deep into the shadows below him.

“They are my enemies because they will threaten my daughter. Nothing else, nothing more.”

“Don’t forget that, Lydia. It’s all for her.”

He paused, then with an intensity enough to make Lydia smile with voracious hunger, he parted his lips:

“Everything.”

He then disappeared, leaving Lydia behind with her smile.

“How envious,” she whispered, looking at her scars in the mirror. She raised her hand and slowly brushed her fingers over them.

Her smile deepened.

“How sickeningly envious.”
