Chapter 373: I Will Make It!!!
“Are you Crazy?!!!”

Sunny yelled, standing on the precipice of a jagged peak. He stared into the abyss below. It was an endless throat of darkness, so deep that the concept of a “ground” seemed like a lie. The wind here was a physical assault, howling like lost souls.

The God of Death stood some feet behind him, his arms folded behind his back, his robes fluttering in the gale that didn’t seem to touch his skin.

”You can’t do such an easy thing?” He asked with a frown, sounding genuinely disappointed.

”Wait! You fucking want me to destroy all my cultivation and become powerless, an ordinary human without a single trace of spirit energy! And after that! I will climb down this mountain, past the infested zone, and retrieve an artifact!” Sunny gestured wildly at the drop.

“Do you even understand what you’re saying?” He yelled, his voice cracking against the wind, as he stepped towards the god.

”It is not difficult.” The God of Death turned his head to Sunny, his expression flat, eyes devoid of empathy. “If you really want to gain my Law, you’ll have to work for it… Now, start.”

He pointed a pale finger at the horizon.

Sunny stared at him in rage and disbelief, his mouth opening and closing, not knowing how to reply to such madness.

”Hesitation?”

The God moved his finger towards Sunny. There was no spell chant, no gathering of energy. Just a simple will.

An invisible force struck Sunny like a runaway train.

BAM!!

He was blasted backward, skidding across the stone before dropping to his knees. His face went pale, drained of blood instantly.

”This?!”

PIFF!

He vomited a mouthful of blood onto the gray stone. But it wasn’t just injury; it was extraction. He felt the golden river of his core shatter. The Seven Ancient Bloodlines, his spirit energy—it was all ripped away in a heartbeat. The cold wind suddenly felt freezing. His muscles felt heavy and weak.

He was now just an ordinary human.

”You can start now.” The God of Death said, slowly lowering his hand.

’This?! He… He shattered my core in seconds. This God is getting scarier by the second,’ Sunny thought, trembling. He wiped his mouth, feeling the fragility of his own skin. He looked over his shoulder at the mountain edge and swallowed hard.

’This is crazy!! This mountain pierces the clouds… And the red sky doesn’t make my odds favorable.’

He shakily stood up from the ground. His knees wobbled. He wiped the remaining blood off his lips, his eyes hardening.

”But… If I can complete all his tests! I will have the strength to even take down Lilith.”

He turned and forced himself to the edge. The drop was terrifying.

”Climbing such a mountain without ropes or spirit energy is nothing but suicidal. It’s not like I am a mountain climber,” he muttered.

He looked over his shoulder at the God of Death, who simply tilted his head to the right, staring at him with those unblinking red eyes.

”Here goes everything!” Sunny clenched his fists tightly, feeling his nails dig into his palms. “No matter what, I must not die!”

He turned his back to the mountain edge. With a deep breath, he slowly brought one leg off the edge, lowering himself as if getting down on a ladder. His eyes burned with determination.

”I won’t die.”

He found a handhold, gripped the cold stone, and slowly started climbing downwards, moving with absolute care and caution.

The God of Death walked to the edge and looked down at Sunny, who was descending meter by agonizing meter.

’Hmm… I thought he wouldn’t do it! He is courageous. This mountain is the tallest mountain in the whole realms. Even a Tenth Order powerhouse wouldn’t dare descend it with their strength, let alone a human?’

He stroked his jaw, a small smirk playing on his lips.

’Maybe because I left that detail out… Anyway, let’s see if he will survive.’

While the God of Death was lost in his thoughts, Sunny was moving down the sheer face of the cliff. Sweat was already forming on his forehead, stinging his eyes.

’This is just 30 meters, and I am already this tired?! Don’t tell me there is something wrong with this mountain.’

He thought, moving his gaze below. His hands were trembling, his fingers cramping, but he held on. The gravity here felt heavier, pulling at him with malice.

”This is crazy?” He yelled in frustration. He moved his gaze to the rock surface below, looking for the next foothold, and slowly lowered himself.

BOOOM!

”…?!!”

Sunny snapped his head to the surrounding clouds. A deep frown formed on his face.

”Don’t tell me that’s lightning,” he muttered, his face filled with shock.

BOOM!!

This time, Sunny saw it. It was lightning, but it wasn’t a jagged bolt of nature. It had a head, a sinuous body, glowing eyes, and a mouth full of crackling fangs. It was a snake made of pure electricity. It struck the rock face fifty meters away, shattering stone, then vanished, only to strike again.

’There is something seriously wrong here! Let’s just hope whatever that thing is doesn’t notice me,’ he thought, his heart hammering against his ribs.

He continued climbing down. If that unknown creature saw or detected him in this weakened state, he would be done for. Fried instantly.

BOOOOOM!!!

Sunny snapped his head to the sound. The snake-like lightning lingered longer now, coiling around a protruding crag before vanishing again.

’Whatever is in this unknown world would be stronger than any rank in the lower world. I must get off this mountain, fast!’

He continued, forcing himself to increase his speed. He was tired. His unconditioned palms were torn and bleeding, smearing red on the gray rock. Sweat soaked his clothes and body, chilling him in the wind, but he didn’t slow down. He kept moving, meter by meter, descending into the gloom until he reached what felt like the halfway point.

’I am so exhausted! I feel like all the bones in my body will break!’

He thought, his arms holding onto a jagged rock trembling violently. His muscles burned with lactic acid.

’I can’t believe I will ever become this weak. My time in this world, as God Wolf and with the System, made me forget the pain I went through when I was still on Earth!’

He gritted his teeth, his jaw locking tight.

”I never missed a day of working! Even if I was ill, injured, or tired! I kept on moving, pushing my body beyond its limits just to make a name for myself!!”

The memory of his past life—the grind, the unappreciated effort, the human struggle—flooded back. It wasn’t spirit energy that drove him then; it was sheer will.

”That won’t stop now! No matter what! I must get to the bottom of this mountain!” He stated, his voice raw.

He started climbing again, moving even faster than before, fueled by pure spite and determination.

”I will make it!”

BOOOOOM!!
