Chapter 371: Shut Up!!
“Absolute Defense!!”

Sunny’s roar tore through the stagnant air. He slammed his palms together, and a translucent, golden barrier materialized in front of him, shimmering with the weight of concentrated energy.

”AHHHH!!”

The three undead calamities—Xanor, Bash, and the Wendigo King—didn’t hesitate. They channeled the entirety of their Tenth Order spirit energy into their fists, the space around their knuckles warping from the sheer density of power. In perfect unison, they struck.

BAM!!!!

BOOOOOM!!!

The impact was cataclysmic. A mushroom cloud of bone dust and spirit energy erupted, sending a shockwave that flattened the landscape for miles. The skeletal ground rippled like water.

WHOOSH!

Sunny was launched from the epicenter like a bullet. He spun in the air, stabilizing himself with a violent snap of his dark wings. He hovered amidst the rising smoke, his arms trembling, the golden barrier shattered into nothingness.

”This? Was that a skill?” He muttered in surprise, wiping blood from his lip. He stared down at the three monsters standing casually on the pile of pulverized skeletons. They hadn’t even moved a step back.

”They destroyed my strongest defense with a single punch? Tenth Order powerhouses are indeed strong.”

He descended from the sky, landing heavily on his feet, the bones beneath him crunching to dust. His eyes narrowed, the golden irises burning with a feral light.

”If I hold back, I will die instantly!”

WHOOSH!!!!

His spirit energy flared into the air, a pillar of golden light that pierced the blood-red sky. It didn’t stop rising; it expanded, heavy and suffocating.

”Tenth Order… I’ve been wondering just how powerful you guys really are.”

He rolled his neck, and the transformation began. It was visceral and terrifying. Golden fur sprouted rapidly across his skin, hardening like armor. Two more pairs of dragon wings burst from his back, tearing through his clothes, giving him a total of six obsidian spans. Finally, a long, sinewy tail lashed out behind him.

”Hmm…. using seven ancient bloodlines in one body. I am a bit impressed.”

The God of Death sat cross-legged in the air, his chin resting on his hand. He watched the spectacle with the detached interest of a collector finding a rare specimen.

BOOOOOM!!

Sunny’s spirit energy reached its zenith. The atmosphere screamed as a vertical slit opened on his forehead—a third eye, glowing with blinding celestial light.

”I haven’t felt so much power before… So this is the strength I gain for merging the whole seven bloodlines,” Sunny muttered. His voice had changed, layering the growl of a beast over his human tone. He clenched his right fist, and the skin turned gray and jagged.

”Stone skin? Bahamut’s Bloodline Skill… So he can also use all the bloodline skills simultaneously. This is getting even more interesting.” The God of Death murmured, his red eyes narrowing.

Sunny looked up, his three eyes locking onto the enemies.

”Clones! Let’s deal with them together!!”

Sunny yelled. His silhouette blurred, and space fractured. Instantly, he multiplied. One became ten, ten became thirty, until sixty identical Sunnys stood on the battlefield, all radiating the same terrifying pressure.

”Twenty each!! Go!”

With that command, the army of Sunnys lunged forward. The air turned scorching hot as sixty hands raised in unison, sending a barrage of condensed fireballs that looked like a meteor shower.

The God of Death watched the chaos from his high vantage point, a small, unreadable smile playing on his lips. He watched as the clones used their superior numbers to pin down the brute strength of the undead summons, weaving spells and physical strikes in a perfect dance of destruction.

”This is fascinating… Even a Tenth Order powerhouse will get overwhelmed against twenty Seventh Order powerhouses who also possess Seven Ancient Bloodlines…” He stroked his jaw thoughtfully.

”Should I have summoned them with their Bloodlines? Without them, they can’t transform or use their Domain skills. They are just brute force engines stuck using my summoner’s powers.”

He sighed, the novelty fading slightly, and closed his eyes.

”I have lived for thousands of Epochs, and I haven’t seen such a person. Is that Old Man also planning on passing down his powers to this weakling? But what would the Heavens say about this?”

He opened his eyes again. Below, the battle was over. The three summons lay on the ground, reverted to piles of lifeless bones.

”The Heavens are more suitable candidates for that role. But he went ahead and chose this kid… Is there something I am missing?”

He observed Sunny. The clones shattered into motes of light, reintegrating into the main body. Sunny collapsed onto his knees, gasping for air, his chest heaving violently. His transformation receded, leaving him drained.

”I have been sealed here for so long, so I have no idea what’s happening out there.” The God sighed, looking at the infinite red sky. “Maybe this guy can stop that person… No, with his current strength, it’s impossible.”

His eyes glowed brightly. He shifted his gaze to Sunny, peering not at his body, but through it. He looked deep into the timeline—past the trauma, into the present struggle, and then, the murky waters of the future.

”Oh… What a surprising turn. He will actually become the father of three Heavens. But that isn’t the only reason the Old Man marked him as a successor.”

He stood up in the air, his dark robes flowing around him like liquid shadow.

”Killing him here will be a waste of talent, and I will be punished by the Universe itself. How can one person have so many powers watching him?” He shook his head lightly, a look of genuine perplexity on his face.

”They even found a way for him to locate the gemstone and get here… Is this enemy so powerful that they want me to join this war?” He rubbed his temples with his fingers, his face filled with annoyance.

“Politics of the divine are always so tedious.”

”What the hell are you blabbering about?!!”

Sunny snapped from the ground. He was trembling, every ounce of spirit energy completely drained from his core, but his glare was still sharp.

”Kid, do you know there are twelve Gods looking after you?” The God of Death asked, looking down at the exhausted mortal.

”Twelve?” Sunny was stunned. He blinked, trying to process the number. He didn’t even know if gods were real until five minutes ago, and now he was being told a pantheon was babysitting him.

”You’re still blabbering?!” He yelled, pointing a shaking finger at the deity.

”Well…” The God of Death held his jaw, ignoring the disrespect as he got lost in thought. “One out of the twelve already merged with you. And with your energy signature and mastery of the elements, I will say… Elemental Prism was the one. Right?”

He looked down at Sunny, expecting a confirmation.

”Elemental Prism is a God?” Sunny stared at him, speechless.

”There are a lot of things you don’t know, kid. And I am sure that lazy Goddess didn’t tell you a thing, because if she did, you wouldn’t be this stupid,” The God said dryly, raising one finger into the air.

”There are a lot of Gods out there, and among these Gods, I am ranked in the top three strongest. Meeting me is like gaining the greatest treasure of all time. You should be bowing.”

”Please shut up and let’s get this over with!” Sunny snapped at him, a deep frown carving lines into his forehead. He was too tired for lectures.

”Oh? You still want to fight? You can’t even stand upright,” The God of Death asked in genuine confusion.

”What do you think?!!” Sunny yelled back. He forced his legs to straighten, gritting his teeth as he began channeling his spirit energy again, wringing every last drop from his exhausted core.

”Ok then…” The God of Death’s eyes flashed with a hint of respect. “I will just have to teach you one or two things about being a God.”
