Chapter 321: The Unyielding Child
[Lower World.]

[Morgana’s Mansion.]

Morgana stood by the expansive wall of her sitting room, the chaos unfolding in the higher realms manifesting as a quiet, determined focus in her eyes. Her long, fiery red hair, swept the highly polished floor.

”It seems he did his job, and his children are here.” She murmured.

The descent of the Three Heavens into Josephine was the confirmation she had awaited.

”It’s good to know all the sacrifice, the people who died for this, wasn’t for nothing.”

She placed her hand on the wall. The flawless masonry instantly dissolved, splitting silently to reveal a hidden alcove. Resting within, radiating an intimidating, ancient aura, was a long staff—a legendary, God-rank weapon. Morgana slowly took hold of the staff, feeling the dense, swirling flow of spirit energy pouring from it. The artifact hummed, a deep, resonant pulse that mirrored her own steady heartbeat, finally awake after centuries of dormancy.

”I know you’re tired of being dormant, old friend… But it’s time to get to work.” She took the staff from the wall, its weight feeling like destiny in her hands.

”As for now… Josephine is still too weak. If those opportunistic entities from the Supreme World plan to harm her, I need to be there to run interference,” Morgana said, her instinct fierce. She was an agent of the Master, and Josephine was the vessel of the Plan’s ultimate fruition.

With a sharp snap of her fingers, the fabric of the Lower World tore open. A shimmering, churning gateway to the Upper World appeared behind her, right in the center of her luxurious sitting room.

”Zohar,” she exhaled, her voice softening with genuine pain. “Your sacrifice won’t be in vain. I will make sure of it.” She took a resolute step, crossing the threshold and vanishing from the Lower World.

Simultaneously, the beautiful, ancient mansion, which had stood as a landmark for hundreds of years, groaned and collapsed with a deafening rumble. Without its mistress and will to hold it together, the defensive matrix failed instantly, turning the whole beautiful estate into a mountain of dust and ruins.

The citizens of the surrounding city—the people Morgana had quietly protected and nurtured for centuries—froze in shock. They immediately rushed toward the ruins, their loyalty overriding their fear.

”Nothing must happen to Lady Morgana!” they yelled, moving rocks and debris like mad men and women. Morgana had been their silent guardian, protecting their families from nations and threats. Even if they believed she was dead, they would risk their lives to give her a befitting burial.

[Upper World.]

[Wendigos’ Kingdom.]

”Son!! You must get back here, at once!” Lilith yelled from the polished surface of a magically charged scrying mirror before her son, Perran.

Perran, the self-proclaimed Child of Destruction, sat calmly on a lavish couch in his oversized bedroom, a study in chilling composure despite his physical appearance as a ten-year-old boy.

”Why?” he asked, a deep frown creasing his brow. This was unprecedented. His mother rarely interfered, even when she knew he was on a crucial mission—her mission.

”You must have felt it,” Lilith continued, her tone laced with a rare, genuine fear. “The Three Heavens have descended. We know they aren’t in the Supreme World, but they could be in the three worlds below… You need to get back here, by my side.”

”Mum… When have I ever retreated?” Perran picked up a wine glass, swirling the dark liquid, his gold eyes fixed on his mother’s frantic image. He embodied the pure antithesis of fear. Destruction was his purpose; retreat was anathema to his very soul.

”Didn’t you hear me?! I said the Three Heavens—”

”—I heard you,” he interrupted, rolling his eyes with the dismissive boredom of an ancient being trapped in a child’s body. “The Three Heavens are in one of the worlds. I know. But now, haven’t you thought about the reality of the situation?”

”Thought about what?”

Perran set the glass down, leaning forward, his gaze radiating terrifying intelligence.

”You can’t pinpoint the exact location of the Heavens because they aren’t yet at their full power. You don’t even know what Law they represent, yet. So why are you so worried? Even if they are physically present, they won’t be able to stop me with their current strength.”

Lilith let out a deep, exasperated sigh. “I know all that! Now let me tell you something in return! If a Heaven descends into a world, they come in one of two ways: as phantoms, or as babies! Phantoms are sent to deliver messages, but as babies? They plan to live in that world, to easily be accepted by its cosmic currents. The main reasons I am worried are these: One: The Law the Heavens represent is completely unknown to us. Two: They can destroy all restrictions, barriers, and defenses with just a glance, even while they are still infants!”

She breathed heavily. “The worst part is… without having control of a corresponding Law, you can never kill one. Even the Mother of all Gods, the Ruler of the Supreme World, can only imprison them—she cannot kill them. Not like they’ll let her.”

Perran listened, unmoving, but the information registered. “I know they’re formidable beings, even when still infants. But they won’t simply know how to use all their devastating power from the start. Yes, they likely have all the advantages you mentioned, maybe even born with them, but how does that concern us? We did nothing wrong against them, so we will be safe. Our only target is Sunny. That is all.”

Lilith fell silent, weighing his logical assessment against her instinctual fear. After several agonizing seconds, she shook her head.

”Still too risky. You need to come back.”

”Sorry, Mother, that I cannot do.” Perran stood up, his small form radiating a massive, immovable will.

Lilith conceded, a final order masking her surrender. “Very well. Do as you wish. I will send an aid to assist you, immediately. Don’t you dare send her back, or I will forcibly force you back here.”

With a sudden, violent flicker, the mirror shattered into non-existence. Before Perran could fully process the incoming aid, a sharp, deferential knock sounded on his bedroom door.

”Don’t tell me she already sent someone,” he muttered, turning his head toward the door, a deep frown of annoyance at the interruption marring his perfect, childish features.
