478: Chapter 476: Divine Weapon Trial 478: Chapter 476: Divine Weapon Trial While Dayanara fell into her trial, the other portal-the one that swallowed the top rankers pulsed faintly with a sinister glow.

A heavy silence stretched across the barren field, broken only by the soft crackle of scorched earth and the occasional flutter of ash drifting in the air like dying fireflies.

The land was flat, lifeless.

No trees, no wind whispered across the plains.

The only thing that covered the soil were the dismembered corpses of monsters thousands of them layered like discarded fabric, rotting in grotesque stillness.

Some still twitched.

Among the piles, broken blades and snapped staves jutted from the ground like forgotten grave markers, many still clenched in the bone hands of those who once wielded them.

Cracked skulls peeked from beneath armored chests, and the occasional glint of a polished ranker badge reflected the pale moonlight, half-buried beneath a mound of flesh and blood.

The scent of death was thick, choking even to the seasoned warriors.

It clung to their clothes, crawled into their lungs.

A few swallowed hard.

“This… isn’t a trial ground,” muttered one of them, voice low, disturbed.

“It’s a massacre site.” [System Notification: Welcome, Participants. You have entered the “Midnight Graveground.”][Time remaining: 3 hours.

Survive.] [Warning: Enemy aggression has been scaled to your levels.

No outside contact allowed.

Escape routes: none.] The moment the words appeared, a low rumble echoed beneath their feet, like something massive stirred beneath the layers of corpses.

“Ready yourselves!” one of them barked, drawing his weapon, eyes narrowing at the shifting piles.

The ground trembled.

One by one, some participants began backing away, panic flashing across their faces.

The horde that rushed toward them was no longer something they could count-it was like a tsunami of monsters, thick enough to blanket the land in chaos.

Screeches echoed across the dark, barren plain.

A sharp shift in the air, A silhouette crossed the moonlight above.

Someone pointed up, gasping, “What’s that?” The shadow dropped fast.

With a loud thud, Seoha landed in front of the retreating group, the shockwave of her landing cracking the already broken ground.

Her short white coat fluttered behind her, and her blade, a massive black-edged sword taller than herself, glinted in the moonlight.

She grinned wide, full of fire.

“Bring it all!

YEAH!” she shouted, slamming her sword onto her shoulder.

There was a pause then Top rankers began stepping forward.

Daewon scanned the field with a smirk.

“Where is the weapon now, huh?” he muttered.

Floating not far from him, Ji-eun hovered gracefully, legs crossed mid-air as lotus petals formed a glowing seat beneath her.

She calmly surveyed the battlefield.

“It seems like… we’re in the wrong portal.” “No,” a voice answered from above.

Everyone glanced up.

Gideon hovered high as he raised a hand and pointed beyond the monster horde.

“There,” he said, voice calm yet firm.

“Behind those beasts… is a mountain of corpses.” The top rankers turned their eyes.

Just past the rushing wave of monsters, illuminated faintly by a celestial light, was a grotesque pile of decaying corpses hundreds, maybe thousands.

And above that, floating in mid-air like a crown awaiting its heir, was a single glowing weapon.

Its blade was gold, and its hilt was wrapped in black chains that pulsed like veins.

Light bled from it, divine and haunting.

“That’s it,” Gideon added.

“The Divine Weapon.”  Daewon’s foot slammed against the ground, sending a shockwave behind him as he sprinted ahead, double-headed hammer spinning once in his grip before tightening his hold.

He charged without hesitation, the earth trembling beneath his steps.

A large, six-armed ogre-like beast lunged at him with a guttural roar.

“Outta my way!” Daewon roared back, twisting his body.

With a single upward swing, his hammer’s head crashed into the ogre’s jaw, lifting the massive creature off its feet.

Its neck snapped with a brutal crunch before the body flew backward, slamming into a pack of crawling beasts, crushing them under its weight.

At the same moment, Seoha pushed off the ground and blurred forward, her speed catching up to Daewon in seconds.

She moved beside him, sword glowing faintly under the moonlight.

A swarm of mantis-like monsters leapt at her from the sides.

Without breaking stride, Seoha twisted into a spin, blade flashing in a crescent arc.

Shing!

Four heads flew into the air, their bodies collapsing as black blood sprayed across the ground.

“Don’t lag behind, hammer old man,” she smirked without looking.

“Hah?!

I was leading!” Daewon grunted, slamming his hammer down on the ground just as a centipede beast burrowed up beneath them.

BOOM!

The ground cracked like glass, and the beast exploded into chunks, its body flattened completely.

They kept moving together like a pair of predators, carving a path through the horde.

Seoha ducked under a flying monster’s claws, slid forward on one knee, and slashed upward, splitting it in two.

Daewon followed by swinging in a wide arc, knocking away a cluster of beasts mid-air like swatting flies.

A flying serpent screeched and dove toward them but it didn’t even get close.

Seoha leapt and met it mid-air, her blade piercing straight through its mouth and out the back of its head before she flipped off and landed behind Daewon.

The two warriors, side by side, tore through the tidal wave of monsters with synchronized chaos.

Behind them, inspired by the two, other top rankers started moving forward.

“Let’s go!” shouted one of the guild masters.

One after another, more awakened stepped up, lighting up the dark battlefield with fire, lightning, ice, and magic as they charged into the endless tide.

Lauren instinctively shut her eyes as the brightness from the portal overwhelmed her senses.

Her feet moved on their own, stepping forward, and the moment she crossed the veil of light, silence took over.

Not a gust of wind.

Not even her own breath echoed.

When she opened her eyes again, she stood still.

An endless white expanse stretched before her.

It wasn’t fog or mist just pure, blinding white that had no depth.

No horizon.

No sky.

Just a smooth, pale ceiling above and a solid white ground below.

It was surreal.

Lauren’s brows furrowed.

Her boots made a soft clink as she adjusted her stance.

clink… clink… clink… Her head snapped down, She wasn’t standing on a regular floor.

Metal.

Countless weapons-swords, daggers, broken spears, cracked shields, rusted axes-scattered across the ground like fallen leaves.

Some pristine.

Some ancient.  Lauren stepped back slightly, and the sound echoed again.

The sound of metal brushing metal.

[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION] Trial: “The White Arsenal”Task: “Find the one true weapon.”Hint: “Only the true one can be held.”Time Limit: ???

Her breath caught.

“Only one?” she muttered, crouching and picking up a thin dagger.

The moment her skin touched the cold, metallic surface the whiteness around her shattered.
