Chapter 533: Task Finally Accomplished?
With the sight of the beautiful Student Council President, who was acting more formal than usual, Lillian smiled broadly as she looked up at her; her smile eventually turning into a grin.
“Heya, Beat! Glad to see you after so long!”
“Oh~? What for? Although it’s the same here, you know.”
Lillian giggled at Beatrice’s ‘You knows’, remembering that they seemed to appear more commonly in her speech when around her for some reason.
The Rising Smoke of the East, Ensho, watched the two greet each other and coughed, undoubtedly drawing their attention.
“My job to escort you two is now done. I’ll be returning to my office, which I came out of to greet you two. With your spatial machine connected to ours, you should be able to teleport back with your academy rings.”
Ensho’s body then transformed into smoke before disappearing; his farewell lingered in the air:
“I’ve granted you access to the level of students here. You may either continue to stay here to explore or leave…”
After he completely left without a trace, Beatrice dropped her guard and formal act.
Walking up to Viesta and Lillian, she widened her arms and wrapped them around their necks, pulling them in.
“Yikes! You two gave me quite the scare, you know! I haven’t heard back from you guys in days. I thought I needed to write a missing report for you both, you know!”
Lillian laughed, while Viesta smiled wryly.
“Well, we’re here now. How was your journey to the North, Beatrice?” Lillian asked.
Beatrice shrugged nonchalantly, “It’s alright… A few monsters here and there, but not anything I couldn’t handle on my own. How’s being a Student Council Member so far? Fun?”
“Hehe… You can say that…” Lillian chuckled.
Beatrice raised an eyebrow before smiling, thinking nothing of it before turning to Viesta.
“Lillian didn’t give you much trouble, I hope? You know.”
Viesta scratched the back of her head and gave a forced chuckle, “Not… THAT much…”
Beatrice nodded joyfully and pulled away from both of them. She then noticed something off about Lillian, but mainly Viesta.
Leaning in, Beatrice stared into Viesta’s face as she rubbed her chin in deep thought, “Viesta, did you do something with your hair? New makeup? You look much more prettier now, you know.”
Viesta took a step back, startled by the sudden closeness, but already familiar with it.
“H-huh? Oh, right, well…”
After Viesta explained what happened along the course of her journey with Lillian, Beatrice’s face went through various stages.
From curiosity, surprise, excitement, shock, and eventually back to excitement.
“I see! You guys definitely went through quite a bit, huh, you know?” Beatrice patted Viesta down, trying to see if there were any more changes made to her body, “To think you would become a Tier 2 before me, Viesta! I’m shocked, you know.”
As Viesta jolted from Beatrice’s physical contact, she caught a glimpse of Lillian making a face at her.
Lillian was smiling broadly as she mouthed:
“Don’t forget your end of the deal~…”
Viesta, reading the girl’s lips, blushed a bit; her eyes twitched.
Turning her eyes away from Lillian, she looked to the side, but found her vision to be obstructed by Beatrice’s face, who was only inches away from hers.
Beatrice, continuing to scrutinise and find the changes made to Cowgirl, watched as Viesta held a hand between their faces.
“P-personal space, please?”
“Ah, right! Sorry about that.” Beatrice took a step back, holding her hands up in surrender, “I was just so curious about the improvements the Jester gave to you, you know. Please do forgive me.”
“I-its fine.”
As Lillian watched the two talk, she couldn’t help but revel in how shy Viesta was getting.
In the game, she didn’t act like this usually with Beatrice, but because of her… She now was, and that was something Lillian couldn’t help but enjoy watching.
All that time Viesta teased about how shy Lillian got when it came to Marionette, this was finally her way of getting back at her!
‘Although, I doubt she’ll ask Beatrice out now…’
“It’s your turn now, Lillian, you know!”
Waking up from her thoughts, Lillian found Beatrice staring down at her, gesturing for her mask.
Lillian raised an eyebrow, but realised what she wanted. She smiled and sighed as she took off her mask, revealing her face, which caused Beatrice to widen her eyes to an extreme degree.
“Whoa… Now that’s a huge upgrade, you know?” Beatrice slowly squinted, finding Lillian’s face too bright to look at, “So, what? You wearing a mask now because you want to save it for your girlfriend?”
Hearing that, Lillian blushed intensely, but made no effort to rebuke Beatrice’s claim. Instead—
“Damn, right I am!”
—She embraced it, puffing her chest out.
Beatrice smirked in amusement, finding Lillian’s behaviour much more endearing as she pulled on the girl’s cheeks.
“Well, aren’t you a girl in love~!” Beatrice cooed.
“Let gooo, Beat!” Lillian squealed.
After a while of chatting, Beatrice manifested a portal before gesturing at it, “Alright! You guys ready to return to Restara? I don’t know about you guys, but I wanna chill back home and rest up until we come back to a world of studying, you know.”
Viesta stretched her back, letting out a tired moan, “Same here… I’ve had enough adventures for these past weeks, it’s about time I relax without worry for anything…”
Lillian chuckled, watching as the two walked to the portal and looked back at her. She shook her head, “I want to explore this place a little, I haven’t been to this place yet, after all.”
“Really? Oh, right, they do prevent you from getting in at the gate. You know.” Beatrice nodded and waved goodbye.
“Well, then! We both will be off, if you need anything, do give us a ring, call, or email!”
Beatrice left first.
Viesta, looking back, pinched the rim of her hat and said, “Well… This is goodbye for now.”
The Cowgirl raised her other hand, shaping it into a gun before aiming at Lillian and firing it, “I’ll see you around the academy, Lillian.”
Watching as Viesta fell back into the portal in style, Lillian couldn’t help but laugh as she made her way out of the building, putting back on her mask as she popped her hands into her pockets.
With this, her first task on the Student Council was finally done, and more will later come.
When one accomplished a task, they would expect a moment of rest. But not Lillian, not now at least… She still had plenty of things to do.
Taking off her mask, Lillian walked around a corner and encountered three rather familiar students of Luton School of Prestigious Magic.
