Chapter 281: Answer
“Did you love Celestia? Or are you still in love with her? Be honest about it.” Tongue asked this with a smile that was way too bright for the question she’d just thrown out. It wasn’t a gentle smile no. It was the kind of smile someone has when they know a bomb is about to drop and they’re excited to see how big the explosion will be. Her eyes even sparkled a little, like, Ohhh now it’s getting spicy.

Razeal, who had been sitting on that stupid galaxy-made couch soft, glowy, ridiculous and annoying just trying to tolerate this whole cosmic therapy session suddenly paused.

His brows lowered sharply. His crimson eyes narrowed into thin, sharp slits.

Slow anger? Annoyance? Frustration? All mixed.

He lifted his eyes to meet Tongue’s.

“If you don’t want to help me, then don’t,” he said, voice turning cold instantly. “No need to waste my time over it.”

He stood up, ready to leave. He didn’t even try to hide the irritation. He was done already.

But Tongue didn’t even flinch. She just sat there, one leg crossed over another, hands resting casually on her lap, wearing that same weirdly calm but amused smile.

“This is actually helping you,” she replied casually. “It’s just that you’re too dumb to understand it yet.”

Her smile widened like she found him adorable in some weird, condescending cosmic way.

Razeal scoffed loudly. “Where is this going to help me? This is such a stupid question. Completely useless. You’re treating me like I’m some vulnerable emotional idiot which I am not.”

He ran a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated. His shoulders were tense. He couldn’t understand how an EX-rank “villain” could be this… ridiculous.

“All of this is meaningless. A waste of time.. And Stop wasting my time.”

“Funny,” Tongue said lightly, “but you should really look at your face right now.”

She pointed at him casually.

“You’re literally running right now. Look at your own reactions. If you can’t even talk about yourself without shaking in anger and frustration, aren’t these the very problems you supposedly want to fix?”

Her tone was teasing, but there was something piercing under it.

“I am not..” Razeal said sharply before cutting himself off. He inhaled lightly…

“These are just my vampire traits i just got this change some hour’s ago.. So can’t control it yet,” he said stiffly. “My emotions get amplified. That’s all. Usually I don’t care about any of this. It’s insignificant. It does not concern me.”

He looked away when he said it, trying to swallow the heat in his chest, trying to convince himself more than her.

Tongue lifted one eyebrow.

“Exactly,” she said softly. “Your emotions. They are yours. Not magic. Not someone else’s or even vampirically inherited. And you’re running from them. Why? Why do you treat your own emotions like they’re someone else’s?”

She leaned forward.

“You either face them… or you keep pretending you don’t feel anything. And you already know which one you’ve been doing.”

Razeal mspt looking away..

“No need,” he muttered. “You can’t manipulate me into doing what you want. I’m not naïve enough to fall for these childish tricks.”

Tongue blinked once… Tilted her head.

“So you’re just scared?”

Simple words. But they hit him right in the pride.. As she ofcourse knowing what hai exact weakness is.

His crimson eyes flickered.. just for a second but enough to show she’d hit a nerve.

He rubbed his face again, harder this time. His vampire arrogance, his eternal pride, hissed inside him like: How dare she?

He stood straighter, then clapped his hands together sharply.

“I am not scared of anything,” he said firmly. “I told you.. I just don’t care. You’re just trying to waste my time. But if you think I’m avoiding the question because I’m scared..”

He sat back down on the galaxy couch, almost slamming himself into the seat.

“Then fine. Let’s do it.”

Tongue’s smile widened like she’d been waiting for this exact moment.

“Ohhh, that’s good,” she hummed happily.

She placed her elbows on the table and leaned forward, her strange cosmic eyes looking directly into his.

“So,” she asked sweetly, “do you want me to force you to only speak the truth? It’ll help.”

Razeal scoffed, not even blinking.

“No need. I never lie. Only the weak, the afraid, and the traitors lie. I am not one of them.”

Tongue’s lips curved.

“You used to lie,” she said softly. “You lied before they lied to you. After that? You stopped because you didn’t want to be like them.”

She snapped her fingers lightly.

“Note that. Everything that happens to people reflects inside them.”

Razeal didn’t reply back at first. He just sat there, arms crossed, posture tense but face blank as if trying very hard to show he wasn’t taking any of this seriously. Like he didn’t care. Like this was nothing.

But inside, after everything that had happened earlier him losing control over his emotion, that overwhelming pressure after noticing all that earlier… he felt it. A tiny pinch of something in his chest. Something he’d never truly acknowledged before.

Fear.

Not fear of Tongue. Not fear of Celestia. Not fear of anyone outside.

Fear of himself. Fear of facing whatever answer she was trying to drag out of him.

He didn’t like that. He didn’t like knowing that something in him was afraid It annoyed him.. Irritated him.. Infuriated him.

But because he noticed it because for the first time ever he actually noticed he was scared he decided not to run this time.

So when Tongue asked again, softly but clearly:

“So… did you love Celestia? Or do you still do?”

Her voice wasn’t mocking. It was light. Calm and almost too gentle for an EX-rank cosmic villain.

The atmosphere thickened between them. Silent heavy like the space around them was holding its breath.

Razeal heard the question… and his first impulse was to frown again, to get up again, to dismiss it again.

Even knowing she was repeating the exact same question.

Even knowing he was supposed to answer it.

His body reacted before he could even think properly his chest tightened, his jaw clenched, his eyes narrowed.

He felt weird.. Very weird. Like he was being forced to do what he dont wanna do

But he didn’t run this time.

He forced himself to stay seated… Forced himself to breathe.

Forced himself to calm his stupid amplified vampire emotions.

Finally, after a few seconds that felt much longer, he inhaled quietly… then exhaled.

He chose honesty.

“I… had some feelings for her,” Razeal said slowly. His voice wasn’t soft. It was calm emotionless like he was telling a long forgotten fact.

“But not anymore. I was childish back then. Unable to see… the reality of the world and power.”

He crossed his arms again and leaned back into the couch, eyes looking off to the side. He didn’t want to look at Tongue while saying it. It felt… too direct.

Tongue nodded lightly, as if she expected that answer.

“So you loved her. But you don’t anymore.”

She phrased it in a way that didn’t allow him to escape. Because she knew he didn’t want to say “love.” He avoided the word.

“How about Selena, your sister, or your mother?” Tongue continued. “Did you love them too?”

She asked softly, but her eyes didn’t look away from him even for a moment.

Razeal took a light breath that was a little too deep. His shoulders stiffened he atill didn’t look at Tongue.. He honestly doesn’t want to.

Instead, he looked somewhere far to the side, like the stars were suddenly very interesting.

“I never had… a family before,” Razeal said quietly. His voice dropped lower. “So when I got one… I couldn’t help having feelings about them. I knew things could go wrong. I knew things could… break.” He paused

“But emotions…” He exhaled sharply. “Emotions make you do things even when you know they’re bad. Even when you know you shouldn’t. But you still want to.”

He looked down at the invisible cosmic floor beneath him.

“I… I…” He moved his lips but no words came.

He clenched his jaw, frustrated at his own hesitation.

Finally he forced it out:

“I loved them.. I did and I was selfish. I wanted to be loved. And I expected things from people who didn’t deserve it.”

His voice went almost flat at the end. Like he was trying to hide something under that calm tone.

Tongue’s eyelids lowered.. Ofcourse not getting wnat does he mean by again.. But she ignored it again.. Thinking its muat be linked to his dark missing spots in memory.

“And they betrayed you,” she said suddenly. Her voice cold.

Razeal didn’t lift his head… He just nodded lightly.

“Hm. Yeah… they did.”

His voice was empty. Like he’d said those words a million times already.

“So you want revenge,” Tongue said.

It wasn’t a question. She said it like she already knew.

“I will have my revenge,” Razeal said, and this time his voice changed completely. It turned chilling. Cold like frozen metal.. Unforgiving.

His crimson eyes snapped toward Tongue and met her cosmic gaze directly.

And in those eyes, something sparked violently. A deep, violent glow. Not anger exactly.. More like determination so sharp it cut the air around him.

Tongue’s smile faded slightly. She watched him carefully.

“So… will you kill them?” she asked. Her voice stayed calm.. Soft. But her words were like ice.

As soon as she said it, the entire atmosphere shifted.

Silence dropped like a weight. Both of them stared at each other.

Razeal’s face didn’t move.

No emotion no twitch not even a reaction.

Still he didn’t answer.

He just stared back into her eyes deep, void-like cosmic eyes letting the question hang between them like a blade.

Tongue tilted her head slightly and said:

“Let me make it simple.”

“Let me make it simple… how about this.. think of Celestia standing right here,” she said.

And before razeal could process her words, Celestia suddenly appeared..

Just a few steps away from them. Standing with her usual elegance, her platinum hair flowing, her calm platinum eyes fixed on Razeal.

A perfect illusion. Or maybe something more. Whatever it was, it looked real.. Perfectly real.

Razeal stared straight at her.

Tongue continued:

“She’s standing right here.”

Razeal didn’t blink.

“And you have a dagger in your hand.”

A cold weight formed instantly in his palm.

A dagger simple sharp and real.

It gleamed under the cosmic light.

Tongue’s voice dropped low:

“Will you kill her?”

Razeal lifted the dagger slightly.. looked at Celestia.. then shook his head.

“I won’t be able to kill her,” he said simply no hesitation no struggle.

“She’s stronger than me.”

He said it casually.

But Tongue… Tongue didn’t look satisfied at all.
