Chapter 304: Chapter 300 – Floor Sixty-Six and the Awakening of the Death Treant
The dark-blue glow of the dimensional gate slowly faded, leaving three figures standing on a vast obsidian stone plain. Hot, dry wind swept across their hair, carrying the faint sounds of clashing metal and rough, marching footsteps.

Floor 66 did not greet them with silence.

Unlike the upper floors filled with gardens or structures, this floor was an open battlefield, a wide, rocky plateau filled with hundreds of towering black pillars like the fangs of giants.

The moment Sylvia stepped onto the ground…

She knew.

“…We’re expected.”

Alicia floated slightly higher, her blue light narrowing until her eyes and mouth became clearly visible.

“Hee… they’re really throwing a welcome party for us, huh?”

Stacia lifted a hand, her dual-colored wings parting slightly.

“Enemy aura… more than two hundred.”

And she was right.

Standing before the gate, waiting specifically for their arrival, was a large army led by the ruler of Floor 66.

Dozens of demons clad in heavy black armor carrying long spears lined with crimson runes. Monsters of solid stone bodies, each the size of a house. Several shadow creatures hovered in the air, radiating dark mental pressure that felt like pure fear.

And at their center their leader.

Four meters tall, velvet-red skin, two long black horns curving backward, six unblinking yellow eyes. Two barbed spears floated beside him as if bound by personal gravity.

He raised his hand.

“RAISE THE SHIELDS!! ATT…”

He never finished the sentence.

Because the moment hostile intent washed over Sylvia…

BRUUUAAAACK!!

The small dimensional pocket beside Sylvia cracked like glass crushed from the inside. From that fissure Black branches shot out, sharp as obsidian blades, long like giant whips. With the sound of a starving ancient tree, the branches tore into the surrounding army.

STAB!!

KRAAK!!

CRRRSSH!!

In one sweep, more than a quarter of the enemy forces were lifted into the air, crushed, or flung aside like straw dolls.

The floor lord’s eyes widened.

“W-what…?!”

Sylvia tilted her head.

“Oh. You’re awake, huh?”

From the cracked dimensional pocket emerged a tiny, familiar figure but this time, noticeably different.

The little Treant hopped out and landed right on Sylvia’s head, like usual.

Except…

Its body was slightly larger, its leaves darker with purple streaks. Its branches gleamed like polished black bone, and its eyes had become two tiny red dots still cute, but ominous.

It made its iconic sound:

“Plop.”

Stacia clicked her tongue softly.

“He… looks more intimidating now.”

Alicia drifted beside Sylvia.

“But still cute~!”

Sylvia touched it.

“It’s been a while since I opened it.”

The little Treant tilted its head… then let out a series of angry plops.

“…Ah.”

Sylvia finally realized.

For the first time, real faint color rose on her cheeks which made Alicia and Stacia nearly burst out laughing.

“Sorry. I… forgot. A lot happened.”

The Treant seemed even grumpier.

Alicia teased,

“You were ignored for six months huh? Poor thing~”

The Treant raised two little branches like it was complaining loudly.

Sylvia gently patted its head.

“I promise I won’t forget you again.”

The little Treant stopped sulking.

Then wiggled its branches like a happy crab.

“PLOP!!”

(Forgiven!)

Even though the three sisters looked like they were having a casual picnic…

The black branches continued moving with lethal precision around them.

Any enemy that approached was instantly…

KRAAK!!

impaled from below,or yanked upward, or crushed like dry leaves beneath a giant’s hand.

Alicia observed from behind Sylvia.

“He evolved too?”

Stacia checked its energy.

“Its species changed… Death Treant?”

Sylvia nodded.

“Because he’s bound to me as queen. His evolution follows mine.”

The Treant puffed up and let out a proud plop:

“PLOP!”

Alicia giggled.

“Hear him? He’s so proud to be a Death Treant!”

Stacia stroked the Treant’s tiny branch.

“No wonder his attacks hit harder. His death element is incredibly dense.”

But their calm conversation only enraged the floor ruler further.

“How dare you… ATTACK WITHOUT GIVING YOUR NAMES?!”

He stomped the ground.

BOOOOM!!

A shockwave rippled out, swirling black dust as the stone monsters behind him began moving in unison.

Sylvia stared at him blankly.

“Floor 66’s ruler, yes?”

The demon swung one of his spears toward Sylvia.

“Correct. I, Cimeies…”

Alicia cut him off.

“…don’t care.”

“WHAT?!”

Sylvia raised one finger. Thick black aura appeared soft, yet crushing like planetary gravity.

“Treant. Clear the area.”

The little Treant lifted both branches like a child receiving orders from its mother.

PLOP!

The branches slammed into the ground like death tentacles.

BOOOOOM!!!

A black wave tore across the battlefield.

The Floor 66 army was thrown back. Some split apart. Some swallowed by the ground as massive black roots burst upward.

Their leader Cimeies raised both spears, forming two red energy shields.

“HOLD…!!”

Sylvia closed her eyes for a split second.

“Death Root.”

CRACK!!

A massive black root exploded beneath Cimeies, grabbed his waist, and shattered both shields in a single wrenching jerk.

KRAAAK!!

His body flew dozens of meters and smashed through a pillar until it crumbled.

Alicia whistled.

“Your power definitely increased.”

Stacia eyed Sylvia.

“You’re holding back, aren’t you?”

Sylvia nodded softly.

“Yes. Floor 66 is too fragile if I get serious.”

The Treant puffed proudly atop Sylvia’s head like a tiny general:

“Plop! Plop plop!!”

(I’m amazing! I’m strong! I evolved too!)

Sylvia patted him.

“Yes, yes. You’re the strongest.”

Treant: “Plop!” (Exactly!)

Even as the underworld trembled from the Death Treant’s rampage…

…the three sisters simply laughed lightly. And perhaps that was what made them dangerous:

Such overwhelming power and such insanity were just everyday things for them.

…..

In the distance, the injured Cimeies struggled to rise.

“Y-you… MONSTERS…”

Stacia stared at him calmly. Alicia shrugged.

Sylvia walked forward slowly, a faint smile on her lips.

“No. We’re just… passing through.”

…..

Floor 66 did not last long.

After being flung away and watching his soldiers destroyed by a “tiny treant,”

the giant demon finally raised both hands high, surrendering completely.

“I-I admit defeat! Go ahead! Take anything you want! Just… just don’t destroy this floor!!”

Alicia covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. Stacia sighed softly. Sylvia stared at him like he was a pebble in her path.

“We’re only passing through.”

Cimeies immediately prostrated.

“P-please, go ahead!! Right this way!!”

The trio walked past the trembling demon, while the small Treant on Sylvia’s head raised its branches proudly like a victorious general.

PLOP!

(I’m the one who won.)

“You only helped,” Sylvia replied gently.

The Treant sulked then hugged Sylvia’s head with its branches.

Thus ended Floor 66.

No dramatic battle.

No grand war.

Cimeies even escorted them respectfully toward the gate of Floor 65, like a luxury hotel staff escorting VIP guests.

…..

Down… down… down…

No floor dared to stop them anymore.

Sylvia’s aura alone made most floor rulers retreat the moment she stepped in. Armies prepared for war scattered instantly. Demons bowed. Some monsters even lay flat and didn’t move.

Sylvia looked uncomfortable.

“They don’t have to react like that…”

Alicia floated around Sylvia’s head, laughing.

“Well… you are kinda terrifying now.”

Stacia: “Kinda?”

Alicia: “Okay fine. Really terrifying.”

Sylvia sighed.

The Treant let out a tiny laugh.

PLOP!

(Weaklings.)

The journey became very… smooth.

Too smooth.

They descended from Floor 66 to 65, 64… until finally…

Floor 50

They emerged from the dimensional gate.

But this time, there was no army. No creatures waiting.

Instead…

Silence.

Complete silence.

No breathing.

No living aura.

No monster presence.

Alicia floated forward cautiously.

“…What is this? Why is it so quiet?”

Stacia knelt down, examining the ground.

“There are no signs of battle… but also no signs of life.”

Sylvia bent down too.

The ground beneath them was covered in…

Ash.

Pale gray dust, like the remains of creatures burned into nothing.

But the texture was wrong. This wasn’t ash from flame.

This was… something deeper.

Sylvia touched a bit with her fingertip. She stared at it for a long moment.

“…This is soul ash.”

Stacia’s eyes widened.

“Souls… burned?”

Alicia swallowed even without a physical throat.

“That means this wasn’t physical combustion. Something burned their cores.”

The little Treant sniffed the ash from atop Sylvia’s head, then made a fearful plop.

Sylvia looked around.

The rocky plain of Floor 50 had turned into a pure gray wasteland. Black pillars lay shattered. Even the air felt empty like there was no energy left for living beings to breathe.

“No life remains,” Stacia murmured.

“Not even the floor ruler’s presence.”

Alicia moved closer to Sylvia.

“This wasn’t done by a monster. No monster can erase souls like this.”

Sylvia closed her eyes.

Inside her something trembled faintly.

A whisper. Like a distant echo.

Or…

A warning.

“This was done by something extremely powerful,” Sylvia said quietly.

Alicia tilted her head.

“Like what?”

Sylvia opened her eyes.

“I don’t know. But…”

She gazed at the ash-filled landscape.

“…this isn’t something from the underworld.”

The Treant pressed itself tighter onto Sylvia’s head, as if seeking protection.

Stacia lifted her wings slightly and stared toward the darkness at the far edge of Floor 50; it looked like a bottomless abyss.

“If everything on this floor was burned down to the soul… then something is happening below.”

Alicia looked at Sylvia seriously.

“Continue?”

Sylvia nodded without hesitation.

“Yes. We go down.”

Before stepping toward the gate to Floor 49, she whispered to herself:

“…Sofia… please don’t be doing something stupid…”

And with that, their descent continued. Leading them toward something far more dangerous than mere floor rulers. But Sylvia didn’t yet know Floor 50 had not been destroyed by demons or monsters. It was destroyed by Sofia.
