Chapter 303: Chapter 299 – The Ruined Garden and the Path Ahead
The moment the three sisters stabilized their auras, the underworld was finally able to breathe again. The space that had been shaking under their power grew calm, though the lingering traces of death, soul, and time still drifted faintly in the air like shimmering dust.

But that peace lasted only a few seconds.

Because when Sylvia turned around, she froze.

And when Alicia followed, she whispered:

“…Oh no.”

Stacia covered her face with both hands.

“No… not again…”

The garden that should’ve been beautiful filled with exotic flowers, obsidian fountains, and rare underworld flora now looked like the aftermath of a disaster zone.

Black pillars had fallen.

The fountain lay in ruins, spewing hot vapor.

The ground was covered in cracks like a map of dimensional fractures.

The seals Belial had painstakingly built for six months… had vanished like burnt paper.

Sylvia blinked twice.

“…Was this my fault?”

Belial, standing with arms folded, let out the exhausted sigh of an old man tired of fixing his house because of his children.

“Not just you,” he said while rubbing his temples.

“The three of you woke up like falling meteors. There’s no way this garden would survive.”

Alicia added shyly, “Sorry… when I woke up earlier… I might’ve reflected a little energy…”

“‘A little’?” Belial snapped. “Your soul-energy sliced through three stone walls like paper!”

Alicia lowered her head, her blue soul-face blushing.

“Ehehe…”

Stacia tried mediating.

“We can help rebuild it later.”

Belial waved a hand.

“Forget it. I’m used to fixing the garden every time you people show up. What matters now is get out of here first.”

He turned to his daughter.

“Seere, take them inside the castle. I’ll handle the mess outside before every demon panics from the aura of my three… adorable little monsters.”

Seere gave a weak smile.

“Alright, Father.”

Lumielle, who had been silently staring at the wrecked garden, finally stood.

Her wings of light receded and stabilized.

“I’ll return to my Light Floor,” she said softly.

Her gaze swept past Sylvia holding fear, awe, and genuine respect.

“Congratulations on your evolution. The world may not be ready… but I’m glad the three of you are safe.”

Sylvia nodded.

“Thank you, Lumielle.”

The goddess of light offered a faint smile before disappearing in gentle radiance.

Seere walked ahead, his steps light, though his eyes kept glancing toward Sylvia.

Alicia drifted casually behind, her blue soul-light constantly shifting shape. Stacia walked quietly, but her smile carried meaning each time Sylvia looked a little more… expressive.

As they descended the stone stairs into the castle grounds, Seere spoke.

“You might not realize this… but all three of you were inside the cocoons for almost six full months.”

Sylvia stiffened.

“Six months?!”

Alicia gasped.

“Seriously?! I thought it was just a few weeks!”

Stacia nodded.

“It felt fast for me too…”

Seere glanced at Sylvia again.

“And during those six months… the outside world changed quite a bit. But before you worry… I need to tell you something.”

Sylvia tensed immediately.

“How is Celes? What about my castle? And the gods ”

Seere quickly shook his head.

“No. The middle world is safe. No god has descended.”

Sylvia’s red eyes widened in relief.

“Why? Didn’t they try attacking before?”

Seere answered:

“Because the boundary between the middle world and the heavens… for some reason, it thickened. The gods can’t descend anymore. They’re blocked.”

Alicia tilted her soul-head.

“Blocked by who?”

Seere raised a finger to his lips.

“Some say… It was done by the world’s avatar.

He reinforced the boundary either to protect the middle world… or to protect all of you.”

Sylvia fell silent.

The world avatar…

The one who brought her to another world before.

The green-haired being who asked her to become the demon king of a parallel world.

She didn’t know whether that was protection… or part of some bigger plan.

Still, a heavy weight lifted from her chest.

“Then… Celes is safe.”

Seere smiled softly.

“Yes. She’s doing well. No major threats. Even Sofia ”

“Sofia?!” Sylvia nearly tripped.

Stacia rolled her eyes.

“That little sister of yours…”

Alicia giggled.

“You really worry too much about Sofia.”

Seere nodded.

“Sofia… has grown stronger.”

Sylvia straightened.

“Stronger… how?”

Seere looked at her cautiously.

“She’s currently on the First Floor.”

Sylvia stopped walking.

“…Why is she on the First Floor? Alone?”

Seere smiled faintly.

“She chose to keep fighting. And… she managed to defeat Baal several times.”

Sylvia froze.

Alicia’s mouth fell open.

“That’s Sofia?!”

Stacia pressed a hand to her forehead.

“Seriously… that girl has extreme protagonist buff.”

Meanwhile Sylvia…

…her ears turned very, very red.

Seere continued,

“And now… Sofia is the acting ruler of Floor One.”

Sylvia turned into ice.

Alicia giggled softly.

Stacia stared at Sylvia.

Seere covered his mouth to hide a snort.

“She said she wanted to surprise you later,” Seere added.

Sylvia covered her face with her hands.

“…That idiot Sofia…”

But her voice wasn’t angry. More like… embarrassed, worried, and slightly happy. As they neared the castle entrance, Sylvia spoke:

“Seere… after some rest, we might head out again. We’ve stayed here too long.”

Seere stopped walking.

His expression… truly sad.

He lowered his head.

“…I know.”

He forced a smile.

“But if that’s the case… you must prepare first.”

Sylvia nodded.

“Of course.”

Alicia and Stacia exchanged a long glance then whispered telepathically:

Alicia: “He’s so loyal to Sofia.”

Stacia: “He didn’t change at all.”

Then Alicia looked at Sylvia, who was staring in the direction of the First Floor, her expression full of warmth and quiet worry.

Both shook their heads with bittersweet smiles.

Their journey was starting again. And many things awaited them below.

…..

Two days passed quickly.

During those two days, Sylvia, Alicia, and Stacia rested in special rooms prepared by Seere. Their new bodies or forms needed time to adapt to physical reality.

Sylvia trained to control her aura so she wouldn’t destroy the castle from afar. Alicia learned to form temporary physical bodies out of soul-light, though they still wobbled like jelly. Stacia spent time stabilizing her new wings, which could open space with a reflexive twitch.

By the second day, they were ready.

And now…

They stood before the dimensional gate to the 66th Floor.

The gate was a massive opening of black stone glowing with deep blue light from within. Cracks of death-energy streamed like thin rivers along the arch. The air around it trembled with a warning that Floor 66 was not welcoming.

Seere stood beside them, looking gloomy but smiling anyway. His Violet hair fluttered in the energy breeze.

“So… you’re really going today,” he said softly.

Sylvia looked at him, her dark-red eyes shining gently.

“We’ve stayed here long enough.”

She touched his shoulder briefly.

“We must continue. The underworld is still long ahead.”

Alicia floated next to Sylvia and added excitedly,

“And I want to see the lower floors! They say they get weirder the deeper we go!”

Stacia smiled quietly.

“We need to find more clues. The middle world isn’t completely safe yet.”

Seere lowered his gaze, gripping the hem of his robe.

“I understand… but still…”

Sylvia took a step closer.

She placed her hand on his head.

Seere stiffened her touch and was warmer now. More human and more expressive.

“See you again, Seere,” Sylvia said softly.

Seere bit his lip, eyes glimmering.

“See you… Sylvia.”

Alicia drifted closer and pinched Seere’s cheek.

“Don’t be sad~ we’ll come back.”

Stacia nodded.

“And don’t worry. Your father will be busy fixing the garden for weeks.”

Seere let out a small laugh half amused, half tearful.

The three stepped toward the gate.

Dark-blue energy flowed like mist over the portal’s surface.

The trembling air suggested whatever awaited them on Floor 66… wouldn’t be easy.

Sylvia looked back at Seere one more time.

“Take care of yourself.”

Alicia waved. Stacia gave a final nod. And then they entered. The dark-blue light swallowed their forms, erasing their shadows in a single blink. The gate closed slowly, leaving Seere alone in the empty space.

He stared at the spot where Sylvia disappeared.

“…I want to go too…”

The words escaped like a fragile whisper.

As he stood there, not knowing what to do, heavy footsteps approached from behind.

Belial appeared.

Covered in dust, hair a mess, arms sore from repairing half the garden destroyed by the three troublemakers’ evolution.

He approached and patted Seere’s head.

“My daughter,” he said gently, a tone rare for a demon his age.

“Don’t be sad.”

Seere bit his lip.

“But Father… they left just like that… and I…”

“You’re sad because of Sylvia, right?”

Seere flinched.

“F-Father…”

Belial chuckled.

“You think I didn’t notice? Your face says everything.”

He stared at the closed gate.

“Sylvia isn’t someone you can tie down.

She walks her own fate.

But…”

He placed a hand on Seere’s shoulder.

“…you only need to wait a little longer.”

Seere looked up.

“What do you mean?”

Belial looked at her with the strange wisdom of an ancient demon.

“You’re almost done with your duty on this floor.

Soon… you’ll be free to go anywhere.”

Seere’s eyes widened.

“Really…?”

Belial nodded.

“Yes. And when that time comes… go chase whatever you want to chase.”

Seere closed her eyes, holding back the tears threatening to fall.

“…Thank you, Father.”

Belial grinned.

“But before that…”

He pointed at the half-destroyed garden.

“…help me fix this first.”

Seere squeaked.

“FATHER!!”

Belial burst into loud laughter. And Floor 68 returned to life after six long silent months.

Meanwhile, far below, Sylvia and her sisters stepped into the 66th Floor. A new world awaited them.
