Chapter 296: Chapter 292 – Roar of a Thousand Infernal Flesh
BOOOOOOM!!

The pressure wave created by thousands of monsters moving in unison blasted dust into the air, hurling rocks aside and making the atmosphere tremble. The deep valley looked like a boiling sea of flesh fangs, scales, bone plates, and thick reddish mist pushing over one another to reach the frontline.

And Sylvia stood alone before them.

At least, that’s what the enemy believed.

The mini Treant that had perched on her head had already returned to its giant form. Hundreds of Hell Treants stood behind Sylvia, forming a living organic wall, their branches shifting like spears, each wooden trunk glowing with deep purple Nether Wood light.

Hellhounds flanked her on both sides, flames of black fire dancing over their bones, hissing like red-hot steel plunged into water.

The infernal wind roared, carrying the thick scent of blood and sulfur.

Sylvia rolled up her sleeves slightly, her expression flat but cold as a blade.

“Maintain a twenty-meter distance from my position,” she instructed the Treants. “If I use any large-scale skills, I don’t want you melting with the rest.”

Hundreds of red eyes blinked in unison affirmation.

The Hellhounds only growled low, but Sylvia knew through Soul Resonance they understood her clearly, down to the detail.

Ahead, the monster waves began to move.

KRAAAAHHHH!!

GHOOOOORRR!!

SKREEEEEE!!

Their roars merged into a single deafening voice. The ground shook rocks falling from the cliffs, dust rising like a war fog.

Tens of thousands of creatures charged.

Then, in one unified motion…

THEY HURTLED FORWARD.

Sylvia didn’t wait.

Her Death Aura detonated.

BWOOOOOOM!!

A black wave surged outward for 50 meters, slamming nearby monsters to the ground as if gravity had multiplied by ten. Their bones cracked. Their skin peeled. Muscles liquefied.

But the tide did not stop… They poured in like a tsunami of living flesh.

Sylvia moved.

Death Step Mirage – Activate.

Her form blurred like a disconnected shadow then vanished.

The nearest monster lunged, rending the air where she stood but slashed nothing but illusion.

In a fraction of a second, Sylvia stood 20 meters away, slashing the air.

“Venom Reaper Claw.”

Three dark green streaks flashed.

ZRAAAT! ZRAAAT! ZRAAAT!

One cleaved a Demon Ogre’s head. Another pierced through three Shadow Beasts at once. The last blew an Abomination-Kin apart into toxic mist.

The poison from Sylvia’s claws spread like a stormy emerald haze. Monsters that inhaled even a breath choked and decayed within seconds.

None turned into zombies because Sylvia thought they were ugly, not cute, so she simply killed them.

But the second wave came immediately.

Dozens of Hell Serpents erupted from the ground, maws wide.

Sylvia summoned her chains.

“Chain Technique – Form 3: Death Spiral.”

CHAAAAANG!!

Black chains surged from the ground, spiraling into a massive vortex.

One by one, the Hell Serpents were dragged inside and crushed into black mist.

Sylvia’s HP and MP spiked violently.

Her status flickered in the air:

HP regen +100,000 MP regen +50,000

But it didn’t stop.

The third wave arrived.

Hundreds of heavy-type monsters Goliath Fiends, Titan Jawbreakers, Chimera Bonebeasts the size of houses charged across the battlefield.

Sylvia tapped her heel.

“Treants time.”

Hundreds of Hell Treants slammed their branches into the ground.

CRACK!!!

From beneath the earth, colossal roots shot upward like spears, impaling every part of the massive creatures’ bodies. Dark blood spurted into the air like raining ink.

The ground trembled.

Sylvia lifted her hand toward the sky.

“Decay Rain.”

The infernal sky split open.

Black clouds gathered, then…

TESSHHHHH!!

A rain of black droplets fell. Each drop was lethal poison. Monsters shrieked as their skin melted like wax.

20,000 HP per second. They had no defense.

Giant bodies collapsed within seconds.

Sylvia leapt into the air, using broken bone fragments as footholds. Her chains spun behind her like vicious black wings.

She took a short breath.

“I need to level up faster.”

She aimed her hand downward.

“Phantom Bloom II.”

The ground beneath her bloomed.

Hundreds of black flowers sprouted then detonated simultaneously.

BOOOM!! BOOOOM!! BOOOOOOM!!

Multi-layered explosions tore reality like fabric. The first blast tore bodies apart. Second, they stripped their souls away. Third left spreading zones of death like a plague.

Thousands of monsters died within 10 seconds.

But more kept coming.

From the left side of the valley, a cracked black portal appeared and a colossal Bone Drake crawled out. Its body stretched for dozens of meters, empty eye sockets glowing deep red, wings of bone unfolding as infernal wind poured through its ribcage.

Sylvia lifted her chin.

“Now this is good.”

The Bone Drake roared a sound like bones being scraped by a giant blade.

It breathed a torrent of cracking bone energy toward her.

A Hellhound leapt in front of Sylvia, forming a wall of black flames. The bone breath collided with Nether Flame.

WHOOOOOSH !!

The clashing energies shattered the ground and fractured the air like broken glass.

Sylvia drew her chains again.

“Chain Technique – Form 5: Abyss Crucifix.”

CRRRAAAANG !!

Black chains shot in all directions, forming a massive cross in the sky. The symbol rotated slowly…

Then plunged straight on to Bone Drake’s head.

A BLOW OF DEATH.

The Bone Drake collapsed like a statue smashed by a titan hammer. Moments later, it disintegrated into dust.

The surrounding monsters trembled even underworld beings who felt fear.

But Sylvia didn’t stop.

She pointed to the center of the valley.

“Treants. Big roots.”

The towering Treants moved as one.

A root as thick as a tower slammed up from the ground sweeping thousands of monsters aside like rag dolls.

They flew into the air.

Sylvia watched them fall in slow motion.

“…beautiful.”

She raised her finger.

“Oblivion Roots II.”

The ground split open like a giant maw.

Black roots burst upward, snaring every monster mid-air draining flesh, bone, soul, mana everything.

Five thousand monsters vanished instantly.

Her status blinked:

Level Up!

Level: 141 → 142

Her dark aura flared more ferociously than before.

The remaining monsters panicked. Some fled. Some attacked each other. But Sylvia stood tall, black hair and black coat whipping in the gusts of despair. She lifted her hand slowly.

“Deadlock Dominion.”

The ground stopped shaking. The air froze.

The entire valley locked in place. Monsters couldn’t run. Couldn’t retreat. Could barely move a few steps. Sylvia vanished again.

Death Step Mirage.

She appeared in the heart of the horde surrounded by thousands.

Her chains spun wildly.

“Eclipse Rend.”

A horizontal black slash tore forward.

ZWHUUUUNG !!!!

Just one strike.

But thousands of monster bodies split silently.

Blood did not fall at once their bodies remained standing then gradually collapsed.

Sylvia kicked off the ground and leapt back to a cliff, creating distance.Hell Treants surged forward, eradicating whatever remained crawling.Hellhounds tore creatures apart, ripping heads and tossing them like toys.

The valley turned into a sea of corpses.Melting flesh. Black rivers of blood.Sylvia looked upon the destruction with steady breath.Thousands were gone. But tens of thousands more waited beyond. And she… was far from satisfied.

Her chains vibrated around her body, alive with hunger.

Sylvia smirked.

“Good. Plenty left.”

The Treants roared in their wooden language. Hellhounds howled. Infernal winds spiraled around her.

Sylvia lifted her hand.

“Continue.”

And her entire army followed their Queen toward the next wave.

…

The next wave arrived even before the blood from the first one had fully touched the ground.

The earth trembled like the hide of a massive beast preparing to rise. Far at the end of the valley, tens of thousands more monsters emerged from behind the bloody fog denser, wilder, and far hungrier than before.

The stench of sulfur mixed with blood, forming a thick haze that was almost like a solid wall.

Sylvia tilted her head slightly upward, eyeing the new swarm surging forward like a red-black storm.

“Heh. They’re getting bigger,” she muttered.

The Treants behind her lowered their bodies, their branches hardening like iron spears ready to strike. The Hellhounds on both sides heightened their black flames, forming two symmetrical walls of hissing hellfire.

The fourth wave arrived.

KRAAAAAAAAAHHH !!!

Hundreds of Gore Titans monsters as tall as four-story buildings, bodies covered in spikes, chests split open to reveal a beating black heart stomped the ground in unison. Each stomp fractured the valley floor like shattering glass.

Behind them, hundreds of Soul Wraiths floated low, bodies like living smoke, releasing long, mind-piercing shrieks.

The nearest Hellhound whimpered even undead creatures could feel the mental assault of the Wraiths.

Sylvia straightened her back, her expression turning colder.

“Don’t be scared. They’re just noisy smoke.”

Her Death Aura pulsed sharply, creating pressure that forced the shrieks to weaken slightly.

But the Gore Titans were already too close.

Sylvia slid one foot back.

“Treants. Left side. Focus on the big ones first.”

Hundreds of Treants roared in their wooden tongue a sound like a dead forest cracking back to life.

Black roots burst from the ground, forming spears, and then…

BRAAAAK!!!

they impaled the legs of the Gore Titans simultaneously.

Bones the size of tree trunks snapped loudly. The Titans toppled, crashing into the earth and carving massive craters.

But dozens more leapt over the fallen, soaring through the air like thrown boulders.

They aimed their blows directly at Sylvia.

Sylvia scoffed.

“Ugly. Your turn.”

Nether Branches (Rank 9)

The earth beneath her split open. Massive black branches erupted upward, spinning like a vortex.

WHOOOOOM !!

Hundreds of branches wrapped around the arms, legs, and necks of the airborne Gore Titans stopping their charge instantly. Their movements froze like stone statues. Then came the cracking screams.

KRAAAGH!!

RRRRAAAAA!!

The branches tightened, shattering ribs, crushing skulls, and yanking their black hearts out as if pulling rotten flowers from the soil.

Dozens of Titans collapsed at once like falling towers.

But the Soul Wraiths only grew more aggressive, their shrieks swelling into waves of psychic pressure. Dark fog shot toward Sylvia with dizzying speed.

Sylvia flicked her fingers.

“Phantom Bloom, bloom again.”

Dozens of black flowers bloomed midair, right along the Wraiths’ flight path.

And the moment the Wraiths passed through

PAP! PAP! PAP! PAP!

Small but multidimensional explosions shattered their forms like brittle smoke-glass.

The first blast severed the spiritual body. The second devoured the remaining soul. The third inflicted a death wound that could not be healed.

Hundreds of Wraiths vanished instantly without a sound.

Sylvia lowered her hand, exhaling softly.

“Too easy. I need something bigger.”

REQUEST FULFILLED.

The valley suddenly rumbled violently, the air heating to a blistering degree.

Treants and Hellhounds stepped back half a meter under the immense pressure.

From the center of the monster horde, flesh and bone began to clump together, as if something was being force-shaped by wild magic.

Sylvia narrowed her eyes.

“Oh? A fusion monster?”

The flesh kept merging, blood spilling from the seams, bones curving unnaturally, the heads of swallowed monsters surfacing briefly only to sink back into the mass again.
