I Can Program My Body? - Chapter 309
Chapter 309: Cosmic Competition Commences
Looking at the cute Tsuka, Nash couldn’t understand how it could grow to accommodate millions of them.
“Could this really eat anything?” Nash muttered, recalling the information he had read.
“We’ll try once we’re in the Dark Plane,” Natasha said as she squatted down, playing with the little guy.
“Indeed…” Nash nodded.
The food of a shelter seed could be any material, whether from the real world or the Dark Plane.
However, in the cosmic competition, since they wouldn’t be under the influence of the Void Administrator’s rules, all raw materials that could be used for a shelter would be confiscated.
Even the possession of dark technology was limited.
All these rules, along with many others, existed to prevent those with great wealth from dominating the cosmic competition.
Although it might seem like the Nova Sector spent a fortune, to the truly rich, a hundred trillion sol was just pocket change.
If they were able to mobilize their wealth in the competition, a shelter seed could probably reach its limit overnight.
While waiting for the competition to begin, Nash and the others played with Tsuka.
“Haha, this little guy is so cute! It’d be a pity if it grew too big!” Camilla joked.
“If it could acquire a size manipulation skill, that would be interesting,” Nash nodded, thinking her words had some merit.
If Tsuka could freely change its size, it would be like having a portable colossus fighter and shelter.
“You two are really wasteful. Why don’t you pray for a defensive or attack skill instead? Be careful you don’t jinx it!” Natasha complained.
A beast- and nature-type shelter could only acquire one innate skill per level.
If a skill slot was wasted on something useless, they’d have no one to blame but themselves.
—
Soon, as a few hours passed by, the Adjudicators finally called them for inspection.
“Please hand over all your storage items for checking.”
Nodding, everyone obediently handed over their storage items.
No one dared to hide anything from the eyes of a War God.
If they were discovered hiding something, not only would they be punished, but even the Nova Sector behind them would be implicated.
Soon after sorting out all the materials in their possession, the Adjudicators returned.
“Ten Tier 5 Dark Technologies, ten thousand Tier 4 Dark Technologies, and hundreds of thousands auxiliary Dark Technology — no problem.”
“There isn’t much quantity of shelter resources. Pass.”
“Potions, weapons, treasures, pets, food, books, auxiliary items, etc. Also pass.”
“The Nova Team passes the preliminary evaluation. Who is the leader among you? Do you have any questions?” the Adjudicator asked after announcing his judgment.
“It’s me. We have no further questions.” Nash stepped forward and replied.
Although he had many questions in mind, they were all about the Dark Plane uncharted zone, not the competition rules.
Having read and memorized the rules before coming, he had nothing to ask.
“That’s good. These are your storage devices, you can distribute them yourselves. Also, these are the Chronos Tokens. You can bind them with your void and soul signatures before the cosmic competition,” the Adjudicator said, then quickly left to check on other teams.
After thanking him, Nash asked the others to distribute the storage devices and Chronos Tokens.
Looking at the token, Nash couldn’t help but be amazed.
Although it didn’t possess any power, it was engraved with countless micro runes invisible to the naked eye.
Each Chronos Token had perfectly uniform engravings, as if it were a mass-produced item.
“Is this technological mass production? Runic engraving can be automated with technology?” Nash thought in shock.
He always believed runic engraving could only be done manually. He didn’t expect technology had advanced enough to automate the process.
Furthermore, these weren’t ordinary runes; they were micro runes that only a Tier 9 engraver could create!
Unfortunately, the engravings held no power, acting only as markings.
Even when he poured void energy into it, it simply sank like a stone in the ocean.
“Don’t bother. The Chronos Token can only be powered by the Void Administrator or something of the same power,” Natasha said, noticing what he was doing.
“I know. I’m just studying it to see if I can get some inspiration,” Nash replied.
The Chronos Token was the key for the Void Administrator to open a passage and save them in the Uncharted Zone.
By connecting to and powering the Chronos Token, a passage to the real world would open, allowing them to escape.
However, in their case, to activate the Chronos Token with the Void Administrator, their shelter had to reach Level 5, which was no different from simply surviving the entire competition.
This was also why those who chose the Ashura Path had a 100% death rate.
Those who could raise their shelter to Level 5 had already proven they could survive to the end. So why would they ever need to escape?
But for those unable to reach that level, even if they survived the full duration of the competition, they could never make it out.
Compared to them, those participating in the general competition had it easier.
As long as they raised their shelter to Level 3, they would gain full support from the Void Administrator, at least enough to ensure they could escape once they could no longer endure.
Clenching the Chronos Token, Nash placed it securely into his storage.
Although he was confident they could navigate the Dark Plane without much trouble, the same couldn’t be said for their competitors.
The Great Five, other outstanding teams, and prodigies like Skylar, with talents from across the domain gathering in one place, nothing was absolute.
—
Soon, after checking and arranging every participant, the Adjudicators called everyone to prepare.
“It’s time…”
Feeling his heartbeat quicken with anticipation, Nash looked up as the sky suddenly tore open.
Following it, the Cosmic Armageddon they were boarding, suddenly burst forth with power that ripped through the void and opened a passage to the dark plane.
On the other side, feeling the dense amount of life energy, the dark beasts charged in frenzy as if finding the most delicious meal.
But before panic could set in, a vast shadow suddenly eclipsed everything.
With a single wave of his hand, the dark beasts charging toward them vanished like a receding tide.
“The Cosmic Competition commences! Good luck to all Cosmic Elites, may everyone return victorious!”
Before anyone could react, a blinding light swallowed them whole.
