Chapter 308: Shelter Seed (2)
“Oh? You want to compete for this Shelter Seed?” the leader of the other team, Christoph, asked with interest.

Usually, once the difference in strength between both sides became clear, the weaker team would give up.

Seeing Nash stand firm, Christoph realized he had encountered a tough opponent.

“How do you want to resolve this? Fight directly?” Nash asked, not wanting to waste time.

When two or three teams wanted the same Shelter Seed, they could propose a team battle, individual battle, or another type of challenge.

“Then let’s have an individual battle, the best of five,” Christoph decided.

Maximizing his team’s advantage, a best-of-five individual battle was the most efficient choice.

“Alright…”

Turning toward his team, Nash asked who wanted to go first.

“Let me.” Skylar stepped forward, eager to test his strength.

“You?”

Seeing Skylar volunteer, not only his teammates but even the opposing team looked surprised.

Skylar was merely a Void General. No matter how strong he was, challenging a top Void Venerate seemed reckless.

“Just me. I’ll finish the fight quickly,” Skylar said coldly, stepping into the center.

Seeing his determination, Nash didn’t stop him.

Aside from Natasha and Hobis, the strongest in their group was undoubtedly Skylar.

Even against top Void Venerates, Nash believed Skylar could hold his own.

Possessing a rare time-based genetic ability, Skylar was nearly invincible in certain conditions.

If not for Nash’s mastery of runic programs, even he wouldn’t be able to stand a chance against him.

Meanwhile, seeing no one stop Skylar, Christoph sneered and chose one of his top fighters.

“The winner must either incapacitate the opponent or force a surrender. Any treasure or technology beyond the Tier 5 realm is banned. Do you agree?” Christoph confirmed.

Although Tier 6 items couldn’t be brought into a low-level uncharted zone, they were still in reality now, so it was best to be cautious.

“Yes, I agree,” Nash nodded.

After agreeing to the rules and verifying them with one of the Adjudicators, the two prepared to fight.

“Start!”

As the voice announcing the start spread through the crowd, everyone watched the two fighters with anticipation.

But before they could even blink, one of them fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

“What—what happened?”

Seeing Skylar standing still while his opponent lay unconscious, Christoph couldn’t believe his eyes.

Turning toward the Adjudicator overseeing the match, he began to expect an announcement that Skylar had cheated.

Unfortunately for him, only the cold, official verdict echoed in his ears.

“Skylar from the Nova Team wins! Next!”

“How? How did he even win?”

“Haha, you should hurry and send the next fighter,” Nash said with a faint smile.

In truth, even he barely saw Skylar move.

It was as if time itself had stopped; it was over before he could even see anything.

“Hmph! Let’s see what else you can do,” Christoph muttered with a dark expression.

Unwilling, he had no choice but to send in the next fighter.

This time, he picked someone with the toughest defence, planning to drag the fight out and observe.

Soon, both Christoph and Nash focused as the Adjudicator signalled the start of the next round.

“Start!”

In the runic space, Nash finally saw how Skylar fought.

It wasn’t time stop as he had assumed, but a super time acceleration.

As if breaking free from the flow of reality, Skylar moved within another dimension where everything else seemed frozen before his eyes.

After landing multiple precise strikes from behind, his opponent didn’t even have time to react before losing consciousness.

“Amazing…”

Too fast! Simply too fast!

Based on speed alone, Skylar’s combat power already reached the realm of trillions.

At that moment, Nash had to admit he was utterly outclassed.

His own combat power was only in the billions. No matter how he amplified his strength, he couldn’t compete with Skylar’s trillions.

Even if that speed didn’t include raw power, defence, or skill, it was terrifying enough.

Nash estimated that unless someone had mastered multiple elements to their peak or possessed a genetic ability on par with Skylar’s, none of the Void Venerates present could defeat him.

Realizing the vast difference in Skylar’s power, Christoph gave up without hesitation.

Instead of losing another teammate, it was better to choose a different Shelter Seed.

“We’ll take our leave. Good luck to you…” Christoph patted Nash’s shoulder before walking away.

“We won!”

Seeing their victory, the members of the Nova Team regained their confidence.

With Skylar’s overwhelming strength, how strong must their leader be?

Coupled with the five Void Venerates on their side, they felt unstoppable.

Meanwhile, Nash clapped, congratulating Skylar for his display of power.

“You’re too strong! It seems your genetic ability has evolved into a true power of law,” Nash said, sighing in envy.

Just like genetic potions, genetic abilities were divided into levels.

From initial activation, an Earth Grade Genetic Ability, comparable to elemental mastery.

Then the Planetary Grade, equivalent to the virtualization of law.

And finally, the Star Grade Genetic Ability, a complete projection of law itself.

Because Skylar awakened his genetic ability at birth, coupled with his luck and potential, allowing it to evolve with each grade of genetic potion, he basically possessed an ability that only a War Saint could wield.

“No need to flatter me. The energy cost of activating my ability is too high to be use regularly,” Skylar muttered with a sigh.

After just two attacks, his void energy was nearly depleted.

Like a child wielding a hammer, he could only swing it two or three times at most.

“You just lack control. Once you fully master your ability, let’s fight again,” Nash said with a spark of battle intent in his eyes.

“Another fight? Sure, I’ll take you on anytime,” Skylar replied, his gaze burning with the same intent.

“Haha, once things settle in the Dark Plane, we’ll have that fight,” Nash said with a smile.

Although he couldn’t match Skylar now, the future was different.

Once he mastered the runic commands within his body, he believed he could optimize or even create a module system capable of bridging that gap.

With that promise, they turned their focus back to the Dark Plane.

Taking a step forward, Nash began binding the Shelter Seed to his soul and void signature.

Bursting from its protective shell, the baby elephant trumpeted softly as it wrapped its trunk around his arm.

“From now on, you’ll be named Tsuka, the guard that will protect the rising sword of the Nova Sector…”
