Chapter 293: Arlean Civilization Compensation
In the Nova Capital, Auralis I, Crescent Starfall Residence:
As Nash and Camilla were fishing as they relaxed for the upcoming cosmic competition, envoys from the Arlean Civilization and several seeded talents barged into his residence.
“Leader Noir! We’re here to present our answer!” Zypr greeted with a bright smile.
“Oh? Have you already come up with a result?” Nash asked, a little surprised.
It had only been four days since he raised the matter with Zypr, yet the Arlean Civilization had already come up with a response.
“Yes, here is the entirety of the Fletcher Family’s holdings: a total of 4 quadrillion nova credits in liquid cash and businesses!” Zypr announced.
“Furthermore, for daring to attack Earth, we’ve convicted the entire family of treason against our closest allies. They’ve either been executed or enslaved for your disposal,” Zypr explained, handing Nash a detailed list of seized properties and captives.
“Hmm? So severe?” Nash remarked.
He had expected punishment, perhaps a few executions to deter others, but confiscating all their property and lives was beyond what he anticipated.
“What do you think of our handling, Leader? Are you satisfied?” Zypr asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
The envoys behind him also tensed, as if bracing for Nash’s reaction.
“There’s no issue. You’ve handled this well. All grudges with the Arlean Civilization are now behind us,” Nash said calmly.
With those responsible punished, Nash had no reason to hold onto his anger.
Of course, if he had greater status and strength, he might have pushed for harsher measures. But given his current position, their actions were more than sufficient.
“Good, good! Leader Noir is truly the most benevolent person I know!” Zypr exclaimed, not forgetting to flatter him.
The envoys behind him also broke into smiles, relieved to have fully appeased Nash’s anger.
Though Nash’s future remained uncertain, they didn’t want to act when it was already too late.
To survive for so long, despite their overbearing reputation, the Arlean Civilization was remarkably flexible, treating both the weak and the strong with equal care.
“What do you plan to do with the properties and the remaining Fletcher family members, Leader? How should we dispose of them?” Zypr asked.
“Just send them to Earth. I’ll have my people handle it,” Nash said after a brief pause.
Four quadrillion nova credits in liquid cash and properties were worth only a few billion sol, barely equivalent to a one or two of tier 5 runic treasures.
Rather than keeping this little sum, which wouldn’t help much, Nash preferred for Earth to take it.
The properties and businesses, in particular, were critical to Earth’s growth.
With such a foundation, Earth could expand its reach, connecting to various industries in the Nova Sector.
Instead of merely operating among nearby planetary civilizations, Earth could engage with a larger world, accelerating its growth.
The captured slaves would also prove helpful.
Their strength, experience, and knowledge of the Nova Sector made them ideal tools to leverage.
Unfortunately, it seemed all the upper echelons of the Fletcher Family had been executed.
According to the list, the strongest among the captives were only a few tier 5 Void Marshals.
Even those with notable talent had been buried on the Arlean Planet.
Though Nash could guess some reasons behind it, he didn’t dwell on it.
Receiving this much was already unexpected; he wasn’t concerned about the smaller details.
The only unfortunate thing about the deaths of the high-ranking members of the Fletcher Family was that they couldn’t recover their main account.
Given their long-standing status and power, that account was likely to have at least trillions of Sol, not to mention their hidden stashes of treasure.
Unable to dwell further, Nash spoke more with Zypr and the others, signing a treaty of cooperation, peace, alliance, and various programs.
Putting the past behind them, the Arlean Civilization sought a closer relationship with both Nash and Earth’s civilization.
Soon, drafting the agreement, they stored it in a specially crafted container, treating it with the utmost care.
Once witnessed and processed by the Nova Government, the Arlean and Earth Civilizations could become the closest allies in the Nova Sector.
Bidding farewell to Nash and Camilla, Zypr and the others left with broad smiles.
Resuming his fishing with Camilla, Nash quickly sent Julius a message detailing the matter.
—
On Earth, Julius, busy handling various matters, suddenly received a special notification.
With Nash’s contact set as a priority, Julius could quickly read and respond to his messages, no matter what he was doing or where he was.
Reading Nash’s brief message and the accompanying documents, Julius’s eyes widened.
“What?! The entire Fletcher Family was captured and enslaved? All their properties were confiscated?!”
“The President wants to send everything here for us to manage?”
“And this… A treaty with the Arlean Civilization?!”
Reading the explosive news, his mind begins to buzz, leaving him in a daze.
Struggling to process Nash’s message, he quickly sent a reply asking for further explanations.
[What did you say, President Nash? Is this true?!]
[…]
[President Nash? Have you read my message? Where are you?]
[…]
[President Nash?]
[…]
[Hello, are you there, President?]
Receiving no reply, Julius could only sigh in frustration.
“President Nash is really capricious.”
Sending such monumental news and then vanishing as if nothing had happened, Julius was left to handle things alone.
As for calling Nash? Julius didn’t want to disturb him if he didn’t want to respond.
He knew the President was likely busy with something important. If he called and disturbed something important, Julius would be the Earth’s eternal sinner.
Fortunately, shortly after, an envoy from the Arlean Civilization sent a message requesting to discuss the matters.
Regaining his composure, Julius summoned all the top officials of the Earth Federation for a meeting.
Though he could manage it alone, such significant decisions required the presence and input of all top officials.
“Huh~ Looks like another pile of work for me…” Julius said with a bitter smile.
Whenever Nash contacted him, it meant more work and always more work.
Yet, instead of feeling worn out, Julius’s fighting spirit flared.
As long as it’s for the betterment of Earth, let the storm come harder!
