Chapter 292: The Doom of Fletcher Family (2)
Contacting his brothers, then his father, and finally reaching his grandfather, Zypr sighed in relief.
“What do you need, brat? Did your training in the Dark Plane go well?” Zyair asked warmly.
“Of course! Not only did we raise the shelter to level five in a year and a half, I also officially stepped into the Void General Rank!”
“Oh? Good! Good! As expected of my most talented grandson! It seems the Arlean Civilization is finally on the rise! If you can pass the domain-level cosmic competition, we…” Unable to contain his excitement, Zyair began to ramble about everything.
Feeling a headache from his grandfather’s flood of words and responsibilities, Zypr quickly steered the conversation back on track.
“No, Grandfather, I have something to tell you.”
“Oh? What is it? Do you need money? Or a treasure? Unfortunately, I don’t have a tier 5 runic weapon suitable for you…”
“No, no, it’s not that.”
“What is it? If you want something, just tell me. I’ll do my best to make it happen.”
“It’s like this, Grandpa…”
Finally getting a chance to speak, Zypr quickly recounted the Fletcher Family’s attack on Earth’s people.
“This—you know we can’t touch the Fletcher Family. Though they no longer have a War God among them, their contributions to the Arlean Civilization still stand.”
“This is different, Grandfather. It’s not just about rules but the future of the Arlean Civilization. If we don’t resolve this, we’ll make an enemy who could bring us to ruin…” Zypr said solemnly.
Besides Nash’s unique genetic ability and strength, Zypr had also learned that he had just become an official scientist.
From everything he knew about Nash, Zypr could only imagine his terrifying potential.
Offending such a man for a mere family was nothing if it meant saving themselves.
If the Arlean Civilization pushed Nash to the point of no reconciliation, Zypr was even ready to defect with his family to avoid his wrath.
Hearing Zypr’s account of Nash, Zyair couldn’t help but frown.
From just a few details, he understood how terrifying Nash’s future could be.
As long as Nash survived, the Nova Sector might not even register in his eyes, let alone the Arlean Civilization.
“What do you think, Grandfather? Should we sacrifice the Fletcher Family or make an enemy of him?”
“Hmph! Leave this to me! How dare the Fletcher Family blatantly break the rules?! Earth is our most honored ally. How could they attack them behind our backs!”
Changing his demeanor as if flipping a page in a book, Zyair was already devising a plan to erase the Fletcher Family from the Arlean Civilization.
So what if they were one of the founders of the Arlean Civilization?
Since they offended someone they couldn’t afford to offend, they had to sacrifice themselves for the survival of everyone!
—
Ending the call, Zyair quickly sprang into action.
The time was tight. To appease Nash, they had to act while he was still in the Nova Sector.
Summoning all available Grand Ambassadors, they swiftly convened a meeting.
Recounting the issues Zypr had raised and their potential consequences, they unanimously agreed to deal with the Fletcher Family.
But first, they had to verify the truth of Zypr’s claims.
Mobilizing their connections across the Nova Capital, they quickly learned the situation was graver than expected.
Nash hadn’t just become an official scientist; he had passed the assessment with flying colors.
Though they didn’t know the exact level of his treatment, it was likely at least B-class, if not A!
Not wanting to waste more time, they began gathering evidence of the Fletcher Family’s misdeeds.
From corruption, inhumane transgressions, scandals, and alliances with enemies, they uncovered one of their wrongdoings after another.
Deeming it insufficient to destroy the Fletcher Family, they even began to fabricate additional charges.
Anyway, with all the Grand Ambassadors uniting as one, even if the Fletcher Family denied it, it would be futile.
—
Three days later, after thorough preparation, they launched their attack, capturing every member of the Fletcher Family.
From the youngest to the oldest, down to the most distant relatives, no one was spared.
Deploying the full force of the Arlean Civilization, from the Arleanian Army to the Arleanian Tribunal, they completed the capture in a single day.
“You dogs! Release me this instant! How dare you seize the royal bloods!”
“Infidels! Let us go, or I’ll make you beg for death!”
“Villains! How dare you bind me! Release me now!”
“How could this happen? Why are you capturing us?!” they wailed.
Gathering millions of members of the Fletcher Family in one place, the scene was as chaotic as a bustling vegetable market.
“Is this everyone?” Zyair asked his subordinate.
Though they wanted to kill these traitors who nearly doomed the Arlean Civilization, it was more fitting to turn them into slaves for Earth’s disposal.
It would be up to Earth whether to kill, torture, or exact revenge on them.
“Besides those who resisted and were killed, this is everyone.”
“Good! Now seize all their property and convert what can’t be sold into nova credits. Where’s Finley, the current head of the Fletcher Family?”
“He’s in a special locked room.”
“Take me there…”
Walking through the stronghold, they soon reached a heavily secured room.
“Finley, long time no see…” Zyair said, noting Finley’s condition.
From once the mighty patriarch of the Fletcher Family and a Tier 7 War Saint, Finley now resembled a disgraced prisoner.
“You! Zyair! Why?! What happened? What did we do?!” Finley demanded, his eyes blazing with anger.
“You offended someone you shouldn’t have…” Zyair replied, offering one last shred of respect to the fallen Arleanian.
“Offended someone? What a joke! When have we Arleanians feared anyone? Even the Supreme Nova Leader gives us respect! So why?! Who is it?!”
“It’s Nash Navre and the people of Earth… You shouldn’t have targeted them without proper investigation,” Zyair sighed.
Though the Arlean Civilization was overbearing, they were careful in choosing their targets, never pushing too far, never provoking the stronger, and avoiding fights with equals.
“Nash Navre? That kid?! Hahaha, so that’s it! Did he win the Galactic-Level Cosmic Competition or something? How could you sacrifice one of the founding families for an outsider with unknown potential?!”
“It had already come to this; there’s no need to explain.”
“Why?! Why?! That kid killed our most talented Arleanian descendant! How could I not seek revenge?! Why?!”
“Enough. There’s no need to discuss this further,” Zyair said, his eyes glinting with killing intent.
Though he knew it was better to hand Finley over to Nash, Zyair didn’t want to disgrace a fellow Arleanian any further.
“May the Crimson Eyes watch over you…”
Without further explanation, Zyair ended the life of the once-mighty warrior, Finley Fletcher, with his own hands.
