I Can Program My Body? - Chapter 276
Chapter 276: Investing 100 Trillion
“I know. Once I have more funds, I’ll concentrate on my research,” Arthur said, smiling, aware of his creation’s potential.
“Funds? How much do you need?” Nash asked.
Thinking of the quadrillion nova credits he’d soon have, he didn’t mind investing in Arthur’s research.
“Oh? Are you rich? If you have money, give me a hundred trillion nova credits to start with,” Arthur joked, not believing Nash had that kind of wealth.
But suddenly, as if his ears had gone deaf or he was hallucinating, Arthur heard an unexpected response from Nash.
“Come again? What did you say?”
“I said I’ll fund your research and invest a hundred trillion nova credits,” Nash repeated.
“This—are you serious?!”
“Of course.”
“Where did you even get that money? How could you be so rich?” Arthur asked in disbelief.
Even as a prestigious scientist, he didn’t have a trillion in his account.
How could Nash have so much?
“I earned it in the Dark Plane. Well, I should also thank the battle weapon I created.”
“Oh, right, we’re here to see your creation. Let’s go, I can’t wait to see what product earned you so much money.” Feeling a touch of envy, Arthur quickly dragged Nash to the testing site.
—
Arriving at the testing site, Nash pulled the Spiral Behemoth from his storage item.
Before leaving the shelter, Nash had taken all the Spiral Behemoths they had.
After all, without the module system, they couldn’t be operated.
Such a weakness was glaringly obvious.
Unfortunately, Nash still hadn’t figured out how to create a local server for the module system to work without his presence.
Meanwhile, Arthur eyed the Spiral Behemoth with puzzlement.
Though his focus was different, he knew a thing or two about large-scale battle weapons used in shelters.
Looking at the Spiral Behemoth, aside from its missing cockpit, it didn’t seem particularly unique.
“How do you make this work? What’s new about it? Which direction did you innovate?” Arthur asked, firing off questions one after another.
“It’s through the combination of my genetic ability,” Nash replied.
“What do you mean—”
Before Arthur could finish his question, a foreign energy suddenly surged into his body.
“Don’t worry, it’s my genetic ability. It’s needed to control this behemoth,” Nash reassured him.
Quickly mastering a few of the unique runic programs in Arthur’s body, Nash shared the [Weapon Control Module System].
Trusting Nash wouldn’t harm him, Arthur accepted the foreign energy.
Soon, as the [Weapon Control Module System] opened, he saw various controls for the Spiral Behemoth.
Interacting with the panel, he tried to make the Spiral Behemoth move.
Holding back his shock, Arthur watched as it moved with just a few taps of his finger.
“This—”
It might not seem like much in reality, but in the dark plane, this ability was monumental!
At this moment, he understood why Nash had earned so much money.
With a behemoth like this that could be controlled remotely, one could pummel dark beasts without any risk.
Playing with the Spiral Behemoth, Arthur fell into thought.
“I don’t know how to assess this thing.”
To become an official scientist, one has to present something unique, something that has never been done before.
Truthfully, beyond the integration of genetic ability, there was little that was unique about Nash’s creation.
When it came to such a subject, Arthur had no idea how to judge its uniqueness or innovation to determine if it would pass.
“No worries, I’ll just submit it and see if it passes,” Nash said, unfazed.
Even if he didn’t pass, he wouldn’t be too disappointed.
“That’s the spirit. Whether you pass or not, this battle weapon is revolutionary,” Arthur cheered.
Even if Nash didn’t pass and become an official scientist, this creation could still make him rich.
Testing the limits of the Spiral Behemoth, Arthur began assessing its various advantages and shortcomings, detailing them to Nash.
—
A few hours later, Arthur took Nash to the core of the Nova Arcanum for the assessment.
Using his authority to recommend someone, Nash was quickly accepted and escorted to the central assessment site.
“Please wait here; the assessors still have tasks to complete,” the assistant said, guiding Nash and Arthur to a private residence.
“How long do you think it’ll take them to finish?” Nash asked in concern.
He had only about 25 days before they left the Nova Sector; he didn’t want to waste a single day.
“I’m not sure,” Arthur replied. “But once the assessment is scheduled, it usually doesn’t take more than five days.”
“I see. Then we’ll wait.” Nash nodded, understanding.
After all, everyone was busy. He couldn’t just demand they drop everything to assess him.
Unable to leave the testing site, Nash entered the private residence they provided.
“Are you okay here? Need anything?” Arthur asked.
“No, you can go, Grandpa Arthur. I can handle it from here,” Nash said, knowing Arthur had other things to do.
“You sure?”
“I’m sure. I’ve already troubled you enough. I can take care of myself.”
“Then call me when the assessment begins. I’ll see if I can support you.”
“Got it. Thanks, Grandpa Arthur.”
“Hmm, good luck…”
—
As Arthur left, Nash, instead of resting, used his title as a pioneer to enter the dark plane.
His severance knife was still at tier 1.
Unable to cut higher-tier dark beasts, Nash could only take it to a low-tier danger zone to farm.
Soon, enveloped by the power of the void, Nash found himself in the Nova Shelter.
“Not the Starfire Shelter?” Nash sighed.
Though he knew one couldn’t return to the site after leaving, he was still disappointed.
Shaking off his sigh, Nash took the teleportation station to a lower-tier shelter.
The danger zones around the Nova Shelter, ranging from six to nine stars, were too much for his small frame to handle.
Choosing the Lantern Shelter, Nash suddenly thought of the people of Earth.
Lantern Shelter was one of the shelters he’d designated for Earthlings to gather.
Curious about how they’d been over the past few years, Nash felt a spark of anticipation.
“I wonder how they’re doing?”
