Chapter 551: Kill! II
The statement hit the gathered Members with force that made several physically recoil, and Achilles felt their collective attention sharpen as they processed implications of what their Overseer had just declared.

Before they could vocalize questions or objections, before conscious thought could organize into coherent protest, Achilles continued floating toward the throne with calm inevitability that implied he’d already determined the outcome of this interaction.

He ascended the verdant-gold stairs without hesitation or deference to symbolic significance, and upon reaching the platform, he turned and settled himself onto the throne with movements of complete comfort in positions of absolute authority.

The seat accepted his presence without resistance as living wood seemed to reshape itself slightly to accommodate his form while leaves and flowers accelerated their orbital patterns around him.

Mycelle naturally moved to stand at his right side, and the arrangement completed a tableau that communicated hierarchy more effectively than any proclamation could achieve!

Vibrant waves of life erupted around the throne in response to his presence. The ambient authority recognized something compatible with its fundamental nature and responded with enthusiasm that made the entire platform glow with intensified radiance. Achilles sat grandly as if the throne had been crafted specifically for him, as if the seat of power had always been waiting for someone who embodied Life’s principles with such overwhelming purity.

The scene was so astonishing that one Living Life stepped forward slightly. He was an entity with humanoid form whose skin was comprised of green bejeweled scales that caught and refracted the hall’s ambient light, and he spoke with confusion that carried edge of concern.

“Overseer Mycelle, what is this?”

His voice was controlled but carried undertones suggesting he was struggling to reconcile what he witnessed with his understanding of proper protocol.

“Is that entity not the one who entered the Tower? The one the vile Living Necrocracies revealed themselves for?” He gestured toward Achilles with careful movement that avoided anything resembling disrespect while still indicating the source of his confusion.

“Is his talent so astounding that you would allow him to act like this with your own throne of authority?”

…!

At such words, Mycelle frowned with expression that implied the question itself was inappropriate, but before she could formulate a reply that would explain the situation without revealing details she preferred to keep concealed, Achilles looked over with smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“Can you tell me what Living Necrocracies look at when geniuses and anomalies arise in the Collapsed Civilizations?”

His voice was calm and conversational, as if he was asking about weather rather than posing question that carried significant implications.

“What factors do they consider when deciding which talents to assassinate, which rising stars must be extinguished to ensure nobody significant arises within the Primordial Civilizations they seek to dominate?”

…!

The question was heavy with subtext that made several of the gathered Members shift uncomfortably, and the Living Life Achilles was looking at frowned as he processed what was being implied through such inquiry.

His bejeweled scales caught the light differently as his posture shifted toward something more defensive.

“That would be something only The Living Necrocracies would know,” he replied carefully, and his tone implied he was uncertain where this line of questioning was leading but recognized potential danger in how he answered. “We do not have access to their planning or decision-making processes regarding target selection.”

Achilles tilted his head with calm curiosity of genuine interest in the response, and his smile widened slightly as he spoke with an innocent tone that contrasted sharply with the weight of his words.

“But, I am talking to a Living Necrocracy right now though?”

…!

He let the statement hang in the air for heartbeat that stretched into subjective eternity.

“You can at least tell me how you all are thinking.”

…!

BOOM!

His words were explosive in their implications, and in the next instant, Mycelle’s aura erupted beside him without requiring additional explanation or confirmation.

She didn’t question his assessment or demand evidence but simply accepted his declaration as absolute truth and responded with overwhelming force that bore down on the accused Living Life with crushing weight.

Verdant-gold radiance blazed from her form as she manifested concentrated authority that pressed against the bejeweled entity with intent to immobilize and contain. Her expression had shifted from controlled professionalism to cold rage.

This being had apparently served alongside her for considerable time without revealing his true allegiance.

“Vel’tharion,” she spoke his name with a heavy voice of disappointment and fury in equal measure. “You have truly hidden well over the years. How long have you served the Corpse Hierophant’s legacy while pretending loyalty to our cause? How many of our strategies have you transmitted to enemy forces while we trusted you as a genuine Member?”

…!

The accused entity, Vel’tharion, seemingly looked shocked by the sudden accusation, and his expression rapidly shifted through surprise toward outrage as he saw hundreds of bars forming a domain around him.

Chains of concentrated Life materialized from Mycelle’s authority and wrapped around his form with binding force that would immobilize even powerful beings, and the crystallized restraints pulsed with light that suggested they were designed specifically to counter attempts at escape through spatial manipulation or reality-warping techniques.

He bellowed with voice that carried genuine confusion mixed with rising panic.

“What is this? What scheme of the Living Necrocracies have you fallen for, Overseer Mycelle?!”

His protests sounded authentic, with voice carrying cadence that implied he genuinely believed he was being falsely accused rather than correctly identified. The other gathered Members watched with varying expressions of shock and uncertainty, clearly unsure whether to support Mycelle’s actions or question the basis for such dramatic response to what might be enemy manipulation.

Even as Vel’tharion continued protesting his innocence and demanding explanation for this treatment, Achilles shook his head with an expression that implied mild disappointment in the performance.

He looked toward Mycelle with gaze that communicated absolute certainty about his assessment, and his voice when he spoke carried commanding weight that made the single word feel like cosmic law.

“Kill.”

…!

BOOM!

A terrifying Minor Glyph of Life instantly formed above the restrained being and began crushing downward with intent to annihilate rather than simply contain. The concentrated authority carried finality as if Mycelle had no intention of conducting lengthy interrogation or attempting to extract information but was simply executing immediate justice against confirmed traitor.

Vel’tharion’s gaze turned livid as the descending Glyph approached, and in that moment of terminal pressure, when death became inevitable unless he revealed capabilities he’d kept concealed…

BOOM!

Obsidian brilliance of death and Necrocracy erupted from the chained being with force that shattered the illusion of Life he’d maintained. Everyone in the hall gazed in astonishment as a Minor Glyph of Necrocracy formed to oppose Mycelle’s attack, with black light rising to meet verdant radiance in direct confrontation that proved beyond any doubt what Achilles had identified through passive observation alone.

The transformation was absolute. Vel’tharion’s bejeweled scales lost their verdant coloration and shifted toward obsidian darkness, his wings spread to reveal membranes that pulsed with necrocratic authority rather than Life, and his eyes blazed with light that promised endings rather than continuation.

Achilles looked at the scene with smile that suggested satisfaction about being proven correct, and his voice carried genuine curiosity as he repeated his earlier question with slight modification.

“There we go. Living Necrocracy… I ask you again, can you tell me what you Living Necrocracies look at when you see the rise of geniuses and anomalies?”

…!

His bearing seemed grand as he sat upon the throne with absolute comfort.

One arm rested casually on the living wood armrest while his verdant-gold eyes tracked every detail of the confrontation unfolding before him. In the surroundings, all Living Lives turned to face the chained revealed Living Necrocracy in the hall’s center, and Mycelle floated ahead like a celestial green valkyrie ready to deliver final judgment!
