I Can Assimilate Everything - Chapter 549
Chapter 549: Noble! III
Achilles’ thoughts continued racing, and a storm of calculation occurred behind his calm facade while he maintained the appearance ruler accepting expected deference.
‘If just my passive presence can make an Overseer kneel…’
He imagined the possibilities that his elevated appearance completely concealed.
If he could bend the wills of powerful Living Lives with such ease, if the distinction of Noble Living Life granted authority so overwhelming that even those with significant personal power submitted instinctively…
‘I can do anything,’ he realized, and the thought bloomed like a dark flower in the garden of his consciousness…beautiful and terrible in equal measure.
Achilles looked at the kneeling Mycelle with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Update me on what has occurred since I entered the Tower.” His expression shifted slightly as his enhanced senses picked up traces of corruption lingering in the ambient authority. “I can sense a distinct aura of… vileness.”
After he said this, Mycelle nodded with a seriousness that replaced her earlier fervor, and she rose from her kneeling position.
Her verdant eyes dimmed slightly as she recalled the events that had transpired during his initiation.
“Noble Sir, during your transformation within the Life Pool, the Sanctuary was attacked.” She paused to organize her thoughts before continuing with clear precision.
“Living Necrocracies who had been veiled as Living Lives, hidden among us for what must have been considerable time, revealed themselves simultaneously and unleashed their obsidian authority near the Tower of Life’s entrance.”
Her expression grew darker as she described the carnage.
“Dozens of Living Lives collapsed under the concentrated death energy before we could respond.”
Achilles listened with his expression remaining impassive, though his consciousness processed every detail.
Mycelle continued.
“I manifested alongside other genuine Members of the Primordial Civilization and deployed a Minor Glyph of Life to cleanse the corruption,” she explained. “The attackers were annihilated, their existences purified from reality itself.”
She paused, her expression becoming heavier.
“But before the final Living Necrocracy was destroyed…he delivered a message.” Her voice dropped lower as she repeated the words that had troubled her since hearing them.
“He said: ‘The message has already been sent. Even if this is nothing, our forces have been growing restless at doing nothing but observing the Xina Primordial Fold of Life. We may just begin our cleansing here.'”
…!
Achilles frowned as he heard the details.
The implications cascaded outward…if the Necrocracy forces were preparing large-scale offensive against this particular region of Life’s territory, then the sanctuary he’d just claimed authority over might become a battlefield far sooner than he’d anticipated.
Especially concerning was what Mycelle had shared about the last Necrocracy’s final words.
If this domain could be in trouble and about to be embroiled in terrifying war… he needed to understand their exact scope of power and what his own current capabilities were in this new state.
As he thought about this strategic necessity, he felt the Noble Living Life status within his existence buzzing with the information of the Doctrines of Life…accumulated knowledge that had been part of the inheritance mechanism he’d consumed rather than accepted on established terms.
He closed his eyes to sense them more clearly, to examine what principles governed the Civilization he’d just claimed elevated position within, and after processing the fundamental concepts for several moments, he opened them again with decision crystallized.
He looked at Mycelle
“Take me to the other Members of The Primordial Civilization of Life here….let us make sure there are no other traitors hiding among your ranks.”
…!
Mycelle was shocked by the declaration, and her eyes widened as she processed what he was suggesting.
“Noble Sir, you would be able to tell?” Her voice carried mixture of hope and skepticism about whether such feat was possible. “These spies maintained their disguises for what must have been extended periods without being discovered…”
Achilles only thought for a moment as he considered what his distinction as a Noble Living Life could actually accomplish.
“I’ll be able to tell,” he stated simply, allowing no room for doubt about his assessment. “Let us go. And as we do… tell me about the Doctrines of Life.”
…!
He wanted her to tell him about the Doctrines of Life, and Mycelle took this request as an honor. Her expression shifted toward fervor as she waved her hands and erupted with spatial authority to transport them away from the Sacred Temple.
Reality folded around them as they emerged in the skies above the grand Citadel of the Sanctuary, and below them spread the magnificent structures Achilles had observed when first arriving…massive edifices radiating concentrated Life that housed tens of thousands of candidates and elevated Members.
Mycelle began flying toward a specific destination while Achilles floated beside her.
“The Doctrines of Life are the fundamental truths that govern our Way,” she began, her tone reverent as they soared through verdant clouds that pulsed with ambient authority. “They were established by THE Slumbering Genesis in ages before the Collapse and have guided our Civilization through eons of conflict and growth.”
She gestured toward the landscape below as if the thriving Sanctuary itself demonstrated the principles she was about to explain.
“The First Doctrine states: Life is the fundamental assertion of continuation against cessation.” Her voice made it clear that she was reciting words she’d memorized through countless repetitions. “All existence tends toward entropy and dissolution, but Life actively resists this natural decline. We acknowledge that reality seeks to unmake us, and our very being is an act of defiance against the inevitability of ending.”
They flew past floating islands where powerful Living Lives cultivated their authorities, and Achilles observed while processing both her words and the strategic layout of this domain.
“The Second Doctrine teaches: Life must remain adaptable in its persistence.” Mycelle’s expression became more animated. “Rigidity leads to brittleness, and those who cannot bend will eventually break. We embrace change as natural expression of vitality, understanding that transformation is not betrayal of our nature but fulfillment of it.”
Her verdant wings spread wider as they ascended toward their destination…a floating verdant island in the clouds that pulsed with power exceeding anything else in the Sanctuary.
“The Third Doctrine establishes: Life creates natural hierarchies through demonstrated vitality.” Her voice took on edge that suggested this principle carried political implications. “Those who embody Life most purely and powerfully become inevitable leaders because others recognize something worth following.”
Achilles noted how this Doctrine conveniently justified the submission she’d just offered him, and he filed away the observation for future exploitation.
“The Fourth Doctrine proclaims: Life thrives through overcoming adversity.” Mycelle’s tone shifted toward something approaching battle fervor. “There is no growth in comfort or safety; vitality sharpens when directed against forces that seek to end us. Opposition is not obstacle but opportunity…each threat survived makes us stronger, each challenge overcome expands our capacity.”
They were approaching the floating island now, and Achilles could sense multiple powerful presences gathered within the grand castle that dominated its surface…beings whose authorities rivaled or were below Mycelle’s own considerable capability.
“The Fifth Doctrine declares: Life enables infinite expansion.” Her voice carried excitement that suggested this was principle she found particularly compelling. “Unlike Ways that encounter inherent limitations, Life continues growing as long as it persists. There are no natural ceilings to vitality…only self-imposed restrictions that we must overcome through courage and will.”
