Chapter 357: Chapter 357
The next moment, the Chaos Clock descended from the heavens with a force capable of destroying the world itself.

DANG——!!!

A deep, ancient toll rang out.

The sound was vast, sorrowful, as though it carried the weight of countless eras, echoing across eternity. It seemed to whisper of long-forgotten wars, of fallen gods, of a cosmos once whole and now splintered.

Even the mountains trembled beneath its voice.

Iris and Grey looked up, despair carving itself into their expressions. The falling giant bell reflected in their pupils—like a world collapsing upon them.

At last, the Chaos Clock fully revealed its true form.

Its entire body radiated chaotic black-yellow light, surrounded by multicolored brilliance. Sunlight, moonlight, starlight—everything bowed around it as though orbiting a supreme sovereign.

Within the translucent glow of the bell’s interior, mountains and rivers seemed to flow, worlds shifting.

It was a self-contained cosmos.

A bell that could reverse time and space.

A relic that could evolve the mysteries of the Dao.

A divine artifact capable of refining earth, fire, wind, and thunder themselves.

Gasps erupted behind Ethan.

“The whole body is black-yellow… sun, moon, and stars entwined… this—this is one of the top ten chaos artifacts!”

“The Chaos Clock…!”

“I never expected such a treasure to appear in this barren land!”

Iris gritted her teeth, her expression containing unwillingness, fear, and humiliation all twisted together.

If Ethan was truly able to wield such a weapon—even imperfectly—then she and her young master would be utterly crushed.

Possibly annihilated.

Forever.

She glanced sideways at Grey.

The young master’s face was twisted in rage, his back teeth grinding so loudly they nearly cracked. His fists clenched to the point of drawing blood.

He couldn’t accept it.

Not that a talent stronger than himself existed…

But that such a talent came from a “barbarian” land.

A savage, in his eyes.

And yet, that savage wielded a calamity-level divine artifact.

“Young Master,” Iris said through gritted teeth, her mind already racing to survive, “an artifact of this level requires divine power to activate. And the energy consumption is enormous.”

“Ethan is only at Nirvana Realm. Whatever method he used to activate it… he’s only drawing out ten to twenty percent of its power at best.”

Grey’s trembling breath steadied slightly.

“There is still hope, then.”

“Yes,” Iris nodded and flicked her wrist.

A nine-colored jade bottle appeared—radiant, mysterious, emanating an ancient aura.

“This is my final trump card—the Nine-Colored Soul-Living Bottle. It is also an artifact. Although its grade is below the Compass of Heaven and Earth, its defensive ability is extremely strong. Souls can survive inside.”

“When the Chaos Clock falls, we will abandon our bodies and hide our souls in the bottle.”

Grey’s jaw tensed.

“But without bodies, we are only soul forms.”

“We have the Supreme expert body we obtained at the Treasure Appraisal Conference,” Iris reminded sharply.

“My bottle has its own spatial world. It can store our souls and other living beings as well.”

Grey sucked in a breath, a spark of strategy returning to his eyes.

“In that case, why not go into the bottle now?”

“Because Ethan is not a fool,” Iris said coldly.

“If he doesn’t see our bodies crushed beneath the Chaos Clock, he will not relax his guard. Leaving our bodies behind will mislead him into believing we died under its power.”

Grey was silent for a moment.

“…It seems this is our only choice.”

At that moment—

BOOM!!!

The Chaos Clock dropped.

The emperor phantom created by the Compass of Heaven and Earth shattered instantly like fragile glass. It didn’t even last a breath before being obliterated.

The divine power swept downward.

Iris and Grey vomited blood from every orifice.

“Young Master! Hurry—separate your soul! Bring only important things into the Nine-Colored Soul-Living Bottle! Leave the storage ring behind to maintain the illusion!”

“Understood—soul separation!”

Grey’s soul tore free from his body, fragile and flickering like a candle in the wind.

His strength collapsed.

His talent vanished.

He was now merely a wandering soul of the Mahayana Realm.

His spiritual foundation grew weaker with each moment spent without a body.

“When I return to the clan… when I regain my body… Ethan, I will tear you apart limb by limb,” Grey hissed venomously before his soul entered the nine-colored bottle.

Iris exhaled shakily and guided her own soul out.

Her final glance was toward the Compass of Heaven and Earth.

“Regretful… I cannot reclaim the clan’s divine weapon with only my soul body. But this barbaric land… indeed hides secrets worth conquering.”

“We’ve confirmed the presence of an Original Stone Tablet… and the owner of the Ice Spirit Soul Body…”

Her soul darkened with killing intent.

“When we return, the clan will invade this land. Sooner or later… everything here will bow beneath the Ice Spirit Clan.”

With that, Iris entered the bottle.

Down below, the Chaos Clock swallowed their physical bodies whole.

The divine clock hummed, shaking heaven and earth.

A quarter of an hour passed.

Fwoosh—

Ethan descended from the sky, his face pale, sweat beading across his brow.

Activating the Chaos Clock had drained him to empty. Only a tenth of his physical strength remained.

He swallowed several recovery pills, sat cross-legged, and began circulating the Celestial Jade Physique Scripture. Warm, dense spiritual energy surged through his veins, regenerating blood essence and strength.

But even as he recovered, Ethan’s gaze remained sharp.

He knew the moment he revealed a divine artifact, danger would not end with Iris and Grey.

Opportunists were everywhere.

Supreme experts were not saints.

Their greed was bottomless.

Sure enough—

The moment the Chaos Clock released its final pulse and shrank back into Ethan’s palm, the others’ gazes sharpened like starving wolves.

Greed.

Madness.

Every eye locked onto Ethan.

It was as though he himself was no longer human—just a walking treasury waiting to be carved open.

Ethan’s strength had barely recovered to one-third.

Not enough.

Not even close.

If they turned against him now, even the Myriad Treasure Pavilion might not help him.

Latham stepped forward, smiling thinly as he blocked the others’ paths.

“Your eyes,” he said, glancing around lazily, “are very unkind.”
