Chapter 331: Chapter 331
“Next time I go home, I’m complaining to Dad about you!”

Rain puffed out her cheeks, glaring fiercely at her brother.

Asher froze for a heartbeat.

Then, as if her words were more deadly than any blade, he hurriedly let go of her face and pulled her into his arms like she were a fragile jade doll.

Roan and the others felt their scalps go numb.

Was this truly the same Blood Marquis Asher?

The same ruthless guardian known across Skyreach for killing his rivals and wearing their blood on his clothes?

They exchanged terrified looks.

This… this is his weakness? His little sister?!

Rain, now in her brother’s embrace, immediately switched emotional gears.

“W-Wooooo~~!”

“Alright, alright. Why are you crying?” Asher asked awkwardly, clearly unskilled at coaxing people.

His icy demeanor melted into something resembling helpless affection.

Rain sniffled dramatically.

“Stinky brother! Why did you disappear for so long?!”

Asher sighed softly, patting her head.

“Cultivation becomes difficult once you reach the Supreme Realm. I searched the entire Skyreach Territory and eventually found a suitable place to cultivate. I stayed there for a while.”

“You only know how to cultivate!” Rain pouted.

“Meanwhile, I was bullied!”

“Bullied?” Asher’s eyes flashed cold light instantly.

“By who? Lana from Myriad Treasures Pavilion? Aren’t you two close friends? Or…” He paused, lips twitching.

“Which young master caught your eye?”

Rain froze.

Then she slapped his chest angrily.

“Hmph! Boring!”

She turned her face away dramatically, crossing her arms.

Asher chuckled under his breath.

Same old Rain.

But he didn’t linger—his expression quickly turned cold again.

He turned to Roan and the others. “It’s late. We should leave.”

Roan and the rest stiffened.

They knew exactly what he meant.

They were going to chase after the mysterious Supreme-level battle that had erupted.

They didn’t want to go.

But with Asher leading them, refusing wasn’t an option.

And with such a terrifying powerhouse by their side—what was there to fear?

Asher stepped outside.

“Come.”

The Blood Marquis raised his hand.

A spine-chilling cry tore through the sky.

A bloody streak soared from the clouds and descended.

A massive bird monster appeared, its wings spreading wide enough to blot out the sun. Thick, blood-colored feathers rustled, exuding a savage heat.

It stood on a single leg, body shaped like a crane, but twisted, ancient, monstrous.

Its tail burned with bloody flames, matching the crown of blood-fire atop its head.

Roan’s entire body trembled.

“This is… an ancient beast. But why is it blood-colored? The ancient records say the one-legged bird should be red with a green crest.”

Another one whispered in awe, stroking his chin.

“The one-legged bird’s bloodline has a chance to mutate. Once mutated, its whole body turns crimson. Everything it touches is consumed by strange fire. This fire is not weaker than any innate spiritual fire.”

“That’s natural,” Roan muttered. “It’s a demon…”

A tenth-level ferocious beast.

An existence equal to a Intermediate-level or even Upper-level Supreme Realm cultivator.

Intelligent.

Temperamental.

Deadly.

And obedient only to one man—the Blood Marquis.

No wonder Rain could run the tavern unhindered.

Rain waved like a child greeting a family pet.

“Hiii~ Uga! Long time no see!”

The One legged bird—Uga—lowered her head, nuzzling Rain gently.

“Come up,” Asher ordered.

He leapt lightly onto Uga’s back.

Rain jumped immediately, grabbing onto Uga’s neck like she belonged there.

Roan and the others swallowed and awkwardly tried to climb up. But the moment they neared Uga’s back, a bloody aura pushed them up, suspending them in the air just above Uga—

Close enough to ride.

But not daring to touch her.

“Let’s go, Uga.”

With a gentle pat, Uga’s massive wings unfurled.

Boom!

They shot into the sky, a streak of blood-light traveling faster than thunder.

…

Meanwhile, Ethan, Althea, and Solara were speeding through the sky as well.

A chaotic storm of spiritual energy raged ahead.

“Looks like the battle already started,” Ethan said calmly.

They approached a valley where mountains lay shattered and the ground split into jagged ravines. The peaks were blown apart, trees burned to charcoal, and the earth trembled from the impact of colliding supreme powers.

Seven Supreme Realm experts—five from the Holy Land of Endless Mountains, one from Myriad Treasures Pavilion, and one from the City Lord’s Mansion—were surrounding Iris.

The sky above the valley rippled with destructive spiritual light.

The terrifying aftermath alone was enough to force Ninth-Turn Mahayana cultivators hundreds of meters away.

Ashira watched from a far hilltop, trembling.

“So… this is a Supreme Realm battle… just the shockwaves could kill me ten times over…”

She had reached the Ninth Turn with full confidence.

She had believed herself nearly invincible among peers.

But here… she felt utterly insignificant.

She waited for Ethan.

Only he could stand in such a battlefield.

As she watched, a sudden burst of spiritual energy approached her.

“—!”

Ashira reacted instantly, summoning Azure flames to block a slicing wind blade. She slid back several steps, eyes wide.

“What power! Sixth-Turn Mahayana?!”

From the sky descended three figures in green robes.

The leader, an old man stroking his beard, smiled knowingly.

“The Supreme Elder of the Royal Beast Sect—Alix,” he introduced himself calmly.

Behind him stood a middle-aged woman and a young man with sharp eyes.

Ashira tensed.

Royal Beast Sect?

She knew little about local human forces, but their name was clear enough—they were experts at taming powerful beasts.

The young man inhaled, a gleam in his eyes.

“Master, her scent is unmistakable. She truly carries the bloodline of a blue phoenix!”

Alix nodded.

“I sensed it the moment she released that Azure flame. The ancient spiritual beast, the Blue Phoenix… and she’s just stepped into the Ninth Level.”

His smile widened in greed and excitement.

“I didn’t expect us to be this lucky. We only came here to join in the fun, yet we encountered a transformed Blue Phoenix that had just reached the ninth level. It’s perfect to become our second spiritual pet to guard the sect.”
