Chapter 319: Chapter 319
“I didn’t expect to meet the Supreme Heart in a place like this. I’m going to take this corpse today.” Grey’s voice carried absolute confidence, his eyes glimmering with ambition.

Across from him, the five major families of the Holy land of Endless Mountains occupied their private boxes.

The three Ashenvale brothers leaned forward simultaneously, eyes blazing with scorching desire as they stared at the coffin below. They, too, had already guessed the truth.

A Supreme corpse.

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“The news Myriad Treasures Pavilion released earlier wasn’t a bluff. It really is related to breaking through to the Supreme Realm.” Noel Ashenvale narrowed his eyes.

“It should indeed be the corpse of a Supreme powerhouse.”

“Haha, excellent. This is what I’ve been waiting for.” Karl Ashenvale’s excitement was impossible to hide.

In the neighboring box, Isolde Stonebridge glanced sideways at Commander Damion with a composed but eager expression.

“Commander Damion, is this coffin truly housing the corpse of a Supreme expert? And… did the Supreme die while ‘sitting’?”

Damion shook his head. “Saintess, you give me too much credit. The coffin is made of special materials. On top of that, Latham’s aura covers it. I can’t see anything.”

His tone steadied.

“But yes, it likely contains a Supreme corpse. As for whether the cultivator died in the ‘sitting’ state… only opening the coffin will tell.”

Isolde frowned slightly. “If the corpse didn’t die while ‘sitting,’ forming a Supreme Heart will be extremely difficult unless we find a top-tier alchemist to refine one.”

“But the quality of a refined heart is far inferior to one formed naturally.”

Damion nodded. “Whether formed by sitting or refining, it’s still a Supreme Heart. And it can still help a Mahayana cultivator survive the Supreme Tribulation. This opportunity is too rare to ignore.”

Isolde exhaled slowly. “Commander Damion is right. Countless people must have come here today for this treasure. The competition will be fierce. We must give it our all.”

Meanwhile, Ethan watched the coffin intently from the VIP box above.

The holographic eye activated again, and instantly—everything within the coffin was laid bare before him.

And what he saw made him freeze.

“This… demonic energy is overflowing. And the structure of the corpse is… strange.”

A flicker of shock flashed across Ethan’s eyes.

No wonder the coffin was larger than normal. The corpse inside wasn’t human.

It was a humanoid monster.

[Half-Human, Half-Demon]

[Race: Ancient Azure Mantis Bloodline]

[Realm Before Death: Inferior Supreme—Peak]

Ethan’s pupils tightened.

The Azure Mantis was an ancient, vicious beast. This one was only slightly larger than a human, but its skeletal structure made the truth clear—elongated joints, twisted limb proportions, a predatory biological design beneath the humanoid frame.

“A human with awakened demon blood…” Ethan murmured.

“And an ancient Azure Mantis at that.”

More importantly—

The corpse still carried an intact spiritual root.

And that changed everything.

“His demonic energy hasn’t dissipated… The coffin must have preserved his life essence.”

Ethan inhaled deeply.

This Supreme didn’t die long ago.

And because he wasn’t a normal corpse—because he wasn’t a pure human cultivator who died in the ‘sitting’ state—his spiritual roots had not completely withered.

Once a cultivator sat in death, their spiritual roots vanished instantly.

But a half-human, half-demon hybrid?

Their spiritual roots decayed slowly.

“Fortunately, this coffin slowed the decay,” Ethan thought, eyes blazing. ”

If the spiritual roots had vanished, this corpse would be useless.”

With a Pure Spirit Body, Ethan could transplant spiritual roots—if he gathered the three required materials Onyx Orchid once mentioned. The success rate would reach ninety percent.

And after gaining spiritual roots—

He would be able to fuse the Four Spirits Holy Body and the cultivation within it.

Once he fused the Four Spirits Holy Body, his cultivation—currently shackled by the lack of spiritual roots—would explode upward. He could soar directly into the Mahayana Realm.

A storm swirled in Ethan’s heart.

“With spiritual energy cultivation combined with my physical cultivation… my strength would skyrocket.”

His decision solidified instantly.

He would act.

He would fight for this corpse.

Silence gradually filled the auction house. All attention converged on Latham, waiting for him to open the coffin.

But Latham simply placed the coffin onto the stone platform.

Then he raised a hand.

“Everyone, do not be hasty,” Latham announced with a smile.

“Before opening the coffin, Manager Lana will present the final auction item of this conference.”

A murmur stirred through the hall.

Lana pushed out a cart draped with a red cloth and stopped beside the coffin.

With a soft motion, she lifted the cloth.

A stone slab the size of a washbasin lay beneath.

Old. Mottled. Ancient. Ordinary at first glance.

But Ethan’s heart shook violently the moment he saw it.

The scent.

The aura.

The lingering Dao texts.

“This is…!”

His eyes widened, breath tightening.

Part of the incomplete stone tablet left behind by the Star Emperor.

Ethan instantly recognized it.

The very same aura as the stone tablet he’d obtained at Sun Moon Lake.

The missing fragment.

Iris, too, reacted immediately. Her eyes trembled.

“The Compass of Heaven and Earth is resonating…” she whispered.

“This stone slab—is it…?!”

Grey leaned closer, voice low. “Original Stone Tablet?”

“No… the true Original Stone Tablet was indestructible. Even the Emperor could not scratch it.” Iris shook her head quickly.

“This must be a legendary imitation. But even an imitation… its insights come from the original!”

Her voice trembled with excitement.

Grey’s eyes burned. “To think this barbaric land hid such a treasure… This is the blessed land of our Ice Spirit Tribe!”

He inhaled deeply, voice firm.

“We might not take the Supreme corpse—but we MUST take that stone slab.”

In the upper box, Ethan’s heartbeat thumped like thunder.

“I didn’t expect to encounter another fragment of the stone tablet here…”

He clenched his fists.

The Star Emperor’s stone tablet was too important.

With the tablet’s guidance, he could locate weak points in the Heaven and Earth Barrier. He could cultivate the Nine Emperors Dao Body more effectively. And he could push toward breakthroughs impossible for others.

The corpse was valuable.

But the stone slab?

Priceless.

Far more important.

Ethan’s eyes sharpened.

He could give up the corpse of the Supreme Realm expert, but he had to take this incomplete stone slab!
