Chapter 268: Ch 268 :The Densest Man In The Multiverse.
“Hah… finally. A solution that doesn’t require a trillion faith points a minute.”

Sunny sat back on his high throne, the tension of the last few hours draining away.

He had spent a considerable amount of time agonizing over the workings, behind the Avatar Protocol.

And then, the idea struck him. It wasn’t Sci-fi or entirely magical…. It was a dream.

“It doesn’t need to be a complex spell,” Sunny mused, his eyes gleaming with the thrill of invention. “It just needs to be a bridge that let the Gods control mortal bodies.”

He raised his hand, activating his Manifestation Affinity. He created something delicate. He pulled threads of soul essence and wove them with the starlight of his own domain.

The material coalesced, shrinking and hardening until a small, gem like object floated above his palm.

Since the purpose of this artifact was the pursuit of love, Sunny chose the most universally recognized shape for such things.

A heart.

It was a small gem, pulsating with a gentle, rhythmic pink light. It was beautiful, but it was empty.

Sunny poured the concepts of a Divine Embryo into it; so that the artifact could have it’s own consciousness as well as allow Sunny to directly give it talents instead of manually etching them one by one.

“Perfect,” Sunny nodded. He examined the gem, which was roughly the size of his thumbnail. “But… it’s just a loose stone. It needs something where it will not just fell and get lost.”

He hesitated. Should it be a ring? Or a necklace? That sat closer to the actual heart.

“Ring or necklace?” Sunny rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. He was an Emperor, not a jeweler.

“Why should I do all the thinking?” he muttered. “This was her idea, after all.”

He opened his system panel and dialed Nyx.

The call connected instantly.

The holographic interface shimmered, revealing the Goddess of Night. She was lounging in her new mansion, looking every bit the divine royalty she was, though her eyes lit up the moment she saw who was calling.

“Hello, Boss!” Nyx chirped, her voice dripping with playful drama.

She clutched her chest as if wounded. “I thought you had forgotten about me after the meeting. I was so heartbroken I almost withered away!”

“Stop joking,” Sunny said, rolling his eyes behind his mask. “I am working on a new artifact. I wanted your opinion. What do you think will look better for this stone?”

He held up the pulsing, heart shaped gem to the screen.

Nyx’s eyes widened. She leaned closer to her screen, her breath catching. “Wow… Boss. Is that… a heart? Are you making this… for me?”

She batted her eyelashes, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “I think I will accept it in any form, as long as it is from you.” She winked.

Sunny rubbed his forehead, a sigh escaping him. He didn’t know exactly when it had happened, but the shy, introverted Goddess he had first met, the one who barely spoke during alliance meetings had transformed.

Ever since he had saved her world, teleporting her entire planet into his protected subspace, she had become… bold.

She flirted relentlessly. She teased. She looked at him with eyes that held a terrifying amount of affection.

But Sunny, the Stone Hearted dull Emperor, simply tilted his head in confusion. He assumed it was just her way of being friendly. Or perhaps she was just grateful for the tax cuts.

“I could give it to you,” Sunny replied casually, missing the subtext entirely. “Since you are the reason I am making this, it makes sense for you to have it.”

He meant that since she proposed the idea, she should have the product, but the profits will be his.

But to Nyx, this statement sounded very different. ‘You are the reason I am making this heart.’

The poor Goddess turned a shade of red that rivaled even the shade of Tomato. If one looked closely, they could almost see steam rising from her head. She was cooked.

“So?” Sunny pressed, oblivious to the meltdown occurring on the other end of the line. “What do you want this thing to be? A ring or a necklace?”

Nyx swallowed hard, her mind racing. A ring? That was too forward, even for her. It felt like a proposal. A necklace? That was intimate. He would have to…

“A necklace,” she squeaked, her voice a little higher than usual.

“Okay, a necklace it is,” Sunny nodded, satisfied with the decision. “I will give it to you once it’s done. Nyx, you are a genius. This thing is going to make us faith you never knew was possible!”

Click.

He hung up, his mind already calculating profit margins and talents that he needed to give to this artifact.

In the Southern District of the City of Gods, inside a floating mansion woven from moonlight, Nyx stared at the blank system panel.

“I… I don’t need faith,” she whispered to the empty air.

She fell back onto her bed, burying her flushed face into a pile of silk pillows. Her heart was hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird.

“Is he… is he going to propose?” she squealed, her voice muffled by the bedding. “He made a heart for me. Because I was the reason.”

She rolled over, staring at the ceiling, a goofy, lovestruck smile plastered on her face.

Her mind drifted back, past the City, past the Tournament, to the very beginning.

She remembered the day she had first messaged the mysterious ‘God of Manifestation.’

She had been desperate. Her world was primitive, her lifeforms dying of starvation and exposure. She didn’t want power; she just wanted to save them. She had asked for tools. Plows. Bows. Simple things.

Then, she had heard the rumors. The ‘Cosmic Alliance.’ A group of Gods who received discounts and priority. She wanted to join, but the criteria were a mystery.

Finally, during a transaction, she had gathered her courage. “How does one join your alliance?” she had asked.

Sunny had asked only one question in return. “What will you do with these items?”

She had answered faithfully. “I will save my lifeforms. I do not want them to die.”

Then came the second question, the one that had stuck with her till now.

“Why save them and not the beasts they kill? Is it about faith? Or intelligence?”

The question had halted her thoughts. It wasn’t a test of her morality; it felt like a genuine question.

She realized then that Sunny wasn’t just asking her; he was asking himself. He was a God who questioned the nature of his own divinity. He was lost, just like she was.

She remembered his soft chuckle when she struggled to answer. “You are welcome to the Cosmic Alliance, Nyx.”

She remembered the day Adam teleported their souls to the Arena. Amidst the chaos, she hadn’t looked for the old God or the mystery behind the system.

She had searched for the cloaked figure of Sunny. She remembered running across what felt like a million miles of space just to stand beside him.

And she remembered the portal. The moment he had opened a gateway to his own subspace and invited her in.

It hadn’t felt like a cage to her. It felt like being invited home for a family dinner.

He was her savior. Her Emperor. And the densest man in the multiverse.

“Hehe,” she giggled, kicking her feet in the air. “I am going to ask him to put that necklace on me himself. I won’t take no for an answer.”
