Chapter 255: Ch 255 : A Faith Sucking Monster
The realization hit the Gods like a thunderclap. It wasn’t just about their demigods.

The true brilliance of Sunny’s design lay in the mortal world.

Why stop at copying the talents of a demigod, entities whose abilities were already known and somewhat limited by their creation?

With Mire and Yggdrasil stationed on their own planets, the Gods could harvest the genius of their entire civilizations.

A humble farmer with an S-Grade Plant Affinity? A random beast with Shadow Walk? A prodigy born with Fire Soul?

All of it could be copied, stored in Mire, upgraded to SS-Grade by Yggdrasil, and then bestowed directly into the God’s own soul.

It was Skill-Resonance without the cooldown.

But as the initial euphoria faded, the math of the universe began to set in. Sunny never gave anything away for free. There were limitations, and they were steep.

The first barrier was Faith.

To Sunny, a trillion faith points was nothing. But to the average God of the Pantheon? It was a fortune.

Most of them, even with the accelerated time of their worlds and the excitement of the tournament, were generating perhaps a hundred thousand faith points an hour. It sounded like a lot until they looked at the price tags.

To initiate a blessing ceremony with Mire? Cost.

To fuse talents? Cost.

To have Yggdrasil upgrade a talent to SS-Grade? Massive Cost.

To receive that upgraded blessing into their own soul? Astronomical Cost.

And that wasn’t even considering the price of creating new talents for their demigods.

Sunny could drop trillions on a whim to give a slime the power to eat a realm. The other Gods had to scrape and save for hours just to buy an affinity for their favorite champion.

The disparity in wealth was not just a gap; it was a chasm.

The second barrier was far more insidious. It was the Soul Limit.

Learning a talent through hard work, swinging a sword for a thousand years, meditating on a mountain peak was a natural process.

The soul adapted. It grew accustomed to the new power, stretching like muscle to accommodate the strain.

A natural learner could hold countless talents because they had earned the space.

But a blessing? A blessing was a violation. It was forcing a foreign concept into the soul, and the soul’s natural reaction was rejection.

To force a new talent in, a God had to pay Faith to carve out the space. To keep that new talent from conflicting with existing ones; to stop Fire Immunity from fighting Ice Affinity; required even more Faith.

Most Gods would hit a hard ceiling at three or four copied talents a day before their faith reserves ran dry or their souls threatened to crack.

Sunny, with his SSS-Grade Skill-Resonance, could copy endlessly. While they could not.

But even with these limitations, the Gods saw the potential. They saw a future where they were not just getting protected, but they were the one protecting the lifeforms.

And Sunny saw something else. He saw the ultimate profit machine.

The Gods would bless Mire with their strongest, most unique talents to fuse them. Mire, the living storage unit, would hold them all.

Sunny had designed her; he decided the golem felt like a ‘her’, specifically for this.

She was a soil that could accept any seed. She had no limit on the number of talents she could hold because she was incapable of using them (a restriction on her).

She was a vault, not a warrior. And Yggdrasil was the key to this vault.

This meant that every unique talent developed across six billion worlds would eventually find its way into Mire’s bank. And as the ultimate admin, Sunny would have access to it all.

He can bless the souls of the mortals from Earth, he can bless his lifeforms without having that talent himself.

“Boss!” a God shouted, his voice cracking with excitement. “I want to buy three! One for each continent on my world!”

The shift in address from ‘Your Majesty’ to ‘Boss’ rippled through the crowd.

It was a subconscious tell. When they respected him as a ruler, he was Majesty.

When they saw him as the merchant who was about to drain their wallets in exchange for power, he was the Boss.

“I’ll take five!” another screamed.

“Can I pay in installments? Can someone invest in my world?”

“Boss, take my money!”

The Garden of Gods descended into the chaos, it was like a market. Billions of Gods were dying to spend there money.

Sunny raised a hand, a predatory smile hidden behind his mask. “Calm down,” his voice boomed, instantly soothing the riot.

“There is no need to shout. You can order your seedlings through the System Shop. Thea will handle the orders, and the units will be delivered directly to your God spaces or your worlds.”

He paused, letting the anticipation hang for a beat. “And as a gesture of my goodwill… the delivery fees are on me. Enjoy.”

Laughter erupted from the Gods. Free delivery on a product that would cost them billions over their lifetimes?

While the Gods busied themselves with their system panels, frantically moving funds and placing orders, the millions of demigods standing in the garden watched in silence.

They looked at the shimmering towers of the city, at the casual display of power from the Emperor, and at their own creators acting like excited children.

But a question lingered in their mind. Why are we here? The Gods had been called to buy products. But the demigods? They were just standing there.

Sunny, sensing their confusion, turned his gaze downward. He looked at the legions of heroes, monsters, and divine beings he and his subordinates had brought into existence.

“I hope this business talk didn’t bore you,” Sunny said, his voice softening, losing the merchant’s edge and taking on the tone of a father.

“I called you here for a specific reason. You are the swords and shields of this empire. You are our proxies in our worlds. You protect our worlds.”

He spread his arms wide, encompassing the entire, magnificent City of Gods.

“This city is not just for us,” he declared. “From this day forward, you, the demigods, are granted access. You may come to the City of Gods at any time. You may train in the arenas, relax in the gardens, and meet your peers from a billion other worlds.”

He added a note of caution. “Be aware, however, that the time difference is immense. A day spent here is years in your home world. Do not leave your posts unguarded for too long.”

The demigods stared up at him, their eyes wide with reverence.

Access to the Divine City? It was the highest honor imaginable. It was a recognition that they were not just tools, but citizens of the highest order.

To walk the same streets as the Gods… it was a gift beyond measure. And he had granted it so casually, as if it were nothing.

“That is all,” Sunny said, sensing the meeting had reached its natural conclusion. “There is nothing more to add. You all have work to do. Train. Build. Grow.”

He waved his hand, a gesture of dismissal. The Gods bowed, their minds already racing with plans for their new Mire and Yggdrasil units. The demigods knelt, swearing silent oaths of renewed loyalty.

As the crowd began to disperse, streaming toward the portals and the districts, Sunny turned and began the long walk back to his palace.
