Chapter 963: Arrival
Shane crouched before the mound of black flowers.
He then noticed that around the flowers, a strange mist was being emitted.
‘Is it poisonous?’ He mused.
Whatever it was, Shane was able to resist it and not bother him at all.
Still, he noticed that Fiona’s rats, refused to get close to it must be a strong one.
Anyway, it didn’t bother him as he moved with confidence. His Fusion Skills, Survivalist Lv10, and Resources Handler Lv10 were there to help him safely gather the flower after all.
These two skills had helped him through jungles, ruins, and wildernesses.
His survival instinct was honed to its peak, and his ability to gather and process resources was unmatched.
Just by getting too close to the flowers, he immediately understood how to handle them… He learned which parts were safe to touch, how to cut the stems without triggering the mist, and how to store them without contamination.
With steady hands, he plucked one of the flowers and held it up. He then stored it in his inventory, allowing him to give it an appraisal.
[ Abyssal Bloom: A black flower born from corrupted soil and nurtured by High-Tier Zombies. Its petals pulse faintly with Spirit Energy.
Effects:
When consumed by a zombie at maturity, it increases the chance of Rank Up by 40%
If processed correctly by an Alchemist, the flower destabilizes zombie physiology, causing internal collapse and destruction.
It can be cultivated with proper soil and Spirit Energy infusion. ]
Shane couldn’t help but pause after seeing its effects.
“So that’s why the Tyrants were guarding them. These blooms can strengthen zombies… but if processed right, they can also kill them from the inside.”
He immediately began harvesting the rest. His Resources Handler skill guided every movement…
He was able to cut stems cleanly, store them in special containers, and neutralize the mist easily. Within minutes, the entire mound was secured.
“Perhaps we can cultivate these in the new shelter,” Shane said. “If Anna works on them, we might weaponize the flowers against the Zombies…”
‘Well, if we leave them here, someone else will find them… If the Overlord Clan found these, they might get a breakthrough on their research or something…’ He mused.
Fiona and Alex then curiously asked what they were and as soon as he explained, they were both shocked.
“You’re planning to plant them?” Fiona asked.
Shane nodded. “Yes. Controlled cultivation. I have elves who can help me handle them… If zombies can rank up from them, then we’ll study that effect. And if we can reverse it, we’ll have a weapon no one else has.”
‘Elf?’ Fiona thought to herself.
Alex, on the other hand, just felt proud.
“That’s why you’re Rank 1, Sir Shane… You’re thinking ahead and for the benefit of our Clan. You’re cool!”
“Ha… Did you have terrible loot? Why are you not looting the two of them?” Shane asked, looking at the two Bone-Armored Tyrant corpses.
Cough~ Cough~
Alex cleared his throat as Shane realized what he wanted to happen.
He scratched his head for a moment and nodded.
“Ahem… If possible, can you loot it for me, Boss Shane? I have bad luck…” Alex replied.
Though it was only a rumor, he heard that Shane’s looting ability was divine. It was to the point that he’d get the rarest drop of each Zombie.
Shane chuckled at this as he looted the Zombies as Alex wished.
[ You have earned 90 Experience Points. ]
[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystals x2, Zombie Cores x2, Bread x2, 100mL Bone-Armored Tyrant Zombie Blood, Spirit Enhancement Bottle x1, Corrupted Hearthstone x1, Bone Sword (Rare) x1, Bone Crown (Rare) x1, Copper Ingot x1 ]
“Ohh… It’s not bad…’ Shane said as he decided to use his Stylish Looter Pocketwatch on the next loot.
This time, he obtained five times the same materials!
Of course, Shane gave the two loot rewards only.
As soon as the transfer was completed, Alex was shocked!
“Wow! You got all of these?! Please loot all the time from now on! I only got Zombie Cores, the Hearthstone… and bread.” Alex said, defeated after seeing Shane’s incredible luck.
“That’s not good. You won’t get experience points.” Shane replied. After all, just killing Zombies could only give them a tiny bit of Experience Points. They had to use the “Loot Process” in order to get a higher number of Experience Points.
Anyway, with the flowers secured, the group continued their journey.
The snow thinned as they approached the shoreline…
Time quickly passed, and soon, they noticed the change in the air… It turned from dry cold to the unmistakable trace of salt.
The wind certainly carried the sound of waves crashing against jagged rocks.
Finally, they after traveling for days, they saw a fortified structure rising against the coast.
It was the Coast Villa Node that Tundra had established!
The shelter was built into the mountainside a few hundred meters away from the shoreline.
Then, with the Advanced Shelter Crystal’s effect, it created a boundary, and it even erected a wall and key buildings like the Shelter Core Chamber and the watchtowers…
Soon, Shane couldn’t help but smile after seeing the wooden barricades lining the perimeter, and faint smoke rose from chimneys within.
Tundra’s team seemed to have worked hard…
Compared to the noisy Hound Neutral Shelter, this place felt really quiet, and it was not surprising at all.
Tundra’s team was small in the first place.
However, it seemed that Tundra still used his Recruitment Stones to bring more people!
Shane had actually noticed patrols moving in formation, and the gates were also manned by well-equipped sentries. They were definitely recruited people.
Just from the outside, Shane already noticed more than 15 people or guards.
Though Tundra probably only used Normal Recruitment Stones to get these men, it didn’t matter since this place lacked population.
Soon, they approached the gates of the shelter, and before Shane could even speak, the gates already started opening, and a few figures were waiting for them.
“Shane! You’re late!” Tundra shouted happily as he finally saw the Clan Leader who had sent him to find this land…
