Chapter 948: Talents
Shane then checked his current set of Talents as he sat on his bed…

Shane leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowing as he opened the System Interface to review his current set of Talents.

[ Current Talents ]

Complete Loot (Legendary Talent)

Otherworldly Mechanic (Legendary Talent)

Territory Lord (Legendary Talent)

Aura Master Talent (Exceptional)

Telekinesis (Rare)

Skill Infuser (Epic)

False Revival Talent (Epic)

He scrolled further down, noting the additional Talents he had picked up along the way after killing some Survivor Zombies. They weren’t particularly useful, but since he had enough Talent Slots, he had automatically claimed them anyway.

Sound Hearing (Rare): Enhances auditory range slightly, allowing detection of faint sounds…

Minor Beast Affinity (Rare): Grants a small chance to calm low‑tier animals or zombies…

Quick Rest (Rare): Reduces fatigue recovery time and…

Spirit Threading (Epic): Allows weak manipulation of Spirit Energy to reinforce objects…

Illusion Spark (Epic): Creates high-level visual distortions…

Adaptive Skin (Epic): Provides resistance to environmental hazards like heat or cold…

They all had long descriptions, and even if they weren’t that awesome compared to many other Rare and Epic Grade Talents, they were still quite decent to have.

Nonetheless, he still had three more talents that were quite useful in his opinion.

[ Stonegrip ( Epic Talent ): The Survivor’s grip hardens like stone when holding weapons or tools. Grants +45% stability when aiming with ranged weapons and reduces recoil slightly. In melee combat, increases weapon durability by 50%.

Passive Bonus: Tools and weapons held are less likely to slip or break under stress. ]

[ Windstep ( Epic Talent ): The Survivor’s movements become lighter, as if carried by a breeze. Grants +45% Movement Speed and reduces noise when walking or running.

Additional Effect: Greatly increases evasion against low-tier zombies, but only has a slight effect against high-tier and above. ]

[ Ironblood Survivor ( Epic Talent ): When health drops below 50%, the Survivor gains +80% Defense against physical and magic attacks and gains minor regeneration for 20 seconds.

Passive Bonus: Reduces bleeding duration by half.

Active Skill – “Last Stand”: Temporarily boosts resistance to physical damage by 30% for 20 seconds. (Cooldown: 15 minutes) ]

Shane exhaled slowly. “Most of these are filler… but those last three were really cool. Though it’s not really being used most of the time.”

He then pulled out the Talent Fusion Scroll from his Inventory.

The parchment glowed for a bit, and soon, he checked its description.

[ Talent Fusion Scroll: A rare artifact that allows the Survivor to fuse 2 to 4 Talents together, combining their functions into a single hybrid Talent. The process is permanent: once selected, the chosen Talents are consumed and replaced by the new creation.

Fusion results are unpredictable. The System calculates hidden synergies between Talents, sometimes producing powerful combinations, other times yielding situational or niche abilities. The rarity of the Talents fused directly influences the outcome:

-Uncommon to Rare Talents often merge into practical or utility-based hybrids.

-Exceptional to Epic Talents may unlock advanced combat or survival mechanics.

-Legendary Talents carry the highest risk and reward, with potential to create unique, game-breaking powers or destabilize the Survivor’s Talent framework entirely.

Additional Rules:

-Fusing higher‑tier Talents increases the chance of unlocking Unique Hybrid Talents, which cannot be obtained by any other means.

-Survivors may choose to fuse two, three, or four Talents at once. The more Talents fused, the greater the unpredictability.

-Fused Talents cannot be separated or restored once consumed. The process is permanent and irreversible.

-The Survivor must remain conscious and stable during fusion. If interrupted, the System will automatically cancel the attempt and the scroll will be lost.

-Hybrid Talents created through fusion may evolve further when the Survivor gains levels or achieves milestones, unlocking secondary effects not listed at the time of fusion. ]

[ Warning:

Fusion may permanently reshape the Survivor’s Talent tree. The System does not guarantee balance or safety. Survivors are advised to proceed with caution. ]

‘What the heck… This description… It’s a complete guide…’ Shane thought as he was thankful to the system for giving him clear direction and what to expect when using this item.

They were truly helpful after reading them carefully…

‘Well… So it’s up to four Talents, huh…’ Shane mused as he considered which Talents to fuse.

He tapped the interface, reading the Talents carefully. He could select pairs, trios, or even quartets of Talents to merge.

The only unfortunate thing about this Fusion was actually the fact that he couldn’t see what kind of Talent he’d get. Because of that, he had to be careful fusing his Talents.

First of all, he didn’t plan to fuse any of his Legendary Talents at all. They were something extremely important, and he didn’t want them to be changed even if the newly fused Legendary Talent was better. He was already satisfied with those three.

He rubbed his chin as he considered what options to take…

“Do I gamble with four at once… or play it safe with two?”

Right now, he was considering fusing Sound Hearing, Minor Beast Affinity, Quick Rest, and Illusion Spark…

Shane leaned forward, muttering to himself. “If I fuse weaker ones, I might get rid of useless clutter. But if I fuse stronger ones… I could unlock something game‑breaking.”

Shane’s gaze lingered on the list again. He imagined the possibilities:

Telekinesis + Spirit Threading + Illusion Spark would probably give him a hybrid of control, reinforcement, and deception Talent…

Quick Rest + Adaptive Skin + Minor Beast Affinity + Sound Hearing might give him a survival-oriented fusion, perhaps creating a Talent suited for exploration.

Ironblood Survivor + Aura Master Talent might give him Defensive aura synergy. Allies gaining strength whenever Shane himself is injured… It was risky, but potentially game-changing.

‘Well… I only have one… I hope I can buy more of these.’ Shane mused.

He exhaled slowly. “Do I gamble with four weaker ones to remove unnecessary talents or fuse three Epics to chase something powerful?”

“If I fuse weaker ones, I lose nothing important. But if I fuse stronger ones… I might unlock something that changes my life…”
