Chapter 1009: High-Tier Nuisance
Fiona’s consciousness slipped deeper into the rat crouched among the rubble.
Soon, its whiskers twitched nervously, but her control steadied its movement.
‘This is dangerous… I need to find a better angle.’ She muttered as she swiftly controlled her rat.
Through its beady red eyes, she saw the battlefield unfold.
The Night Raiders moved in great coordination with their Legendary weapons glowing faintly as if to get the Zombies’ attention.
In the meantime, the leader who was called Bismarck stood at the center. Fiona heard them clearly as he seemed to be the most reliable among their group.
His third eye had a mysterious effect or ability she couldn’t understand… It was scanning every movement of the enemy, and she even realized that her rats had been discovered by those eyes.
However, it was probably seen as no threat, so it was just ignored by Bismarck…
‘Or he’s trying to observe the rats’ movements for now…’ Fiona thought as she knew that the third eye had definitely locked on a few of her rats around the area.
Still, all of them are focused on those Zombie Kings…
The Smoker King Zombie whistled, and its bloated chest expanded before releasing a suffocating cloud of toxic vapor.
Whooshh~
The fog rolled across the ruins, blocking everyone’s visibility. Fiona’s rat squeaked, but she forced it to stay still and prayed that they could endure the toxicity…
Well, her rats had natural immunity to poison after all. Although the toxic vapor created by the Smoker King Zombie looked terrifying, the rats should be able to endure it for some time.

Soon, Hanzo reacted instantly. His Shadowfang Dagger glistened with violet light as he activated Shadow Step of the item…
He vanished into the toxic haze, reappearing behind the Smoker King… It was one of his most classic moves but it was always effective.
His afterimage exploded in shadow energy, tearing through the fog and forcing the creature to stagger.
“Strike now!” Hanzo shouted…
Kresh charged forward with his Bloodreaver Axe glowing crimson.
“Die!”
With each swing, the Axe’s power was triggered… In just a few moments, the Axe cleaved through the Smoker King’s bloated chest.
However, as soon as he did it, toxic gas spewed out!
“Kresh! Stop that toxic gas! I’ll be doomed!” Bismarck shouted while fighting against the Zombie Lord, who had suddenly charged at him… He couldn’t defend against the miasma while also fighting the Zombie Lord!
“I’m on it!” Kresh replied.
It was a dangerous miasma, but his weapon suddenly glowed… In just a few moments, the weapon drank the essence!
The Smoker King roared, but the Raiders pressed harder.
Explosive arrows from a Raider’s fire‑imbued bow pierced its lungs, igniting the vapor.
BOom!
The resulting blast lit up the ruins…
Just like that, Fiona’s rat trembled, but she was enthralled.
“They fight really well…” she whispered in her chamber.
The Licker King Zombie was also fighting the other Raiders!
Thud! Thud! Thud! Its grotesque tongue snapped like a whip.
Then, as expected, three more tongues lashed out from its maw, catching two Raiders off guard. Shields flared with protective auras, barely holding against the crushing force of the steel-like tongues!
“Awesome…” Fiona thought as she saw those tongues being deflected by their shields.
One Raider used his Twin Serpent Blades, activating Venom Surge.
The blades dripped with corrosive venom, and after getting closer, he was able to slice through the tongues!
“Eeekkk~”
The Licker shrieked, its flesh sizzling as poison ate through its armor.
Another Raider hurled a spear tipped with obsidian stone.
Thud!
It pierced the Licker’s skull, pinning it momentarily to the ground. Hanzo dashed in again, his dagger flashed and just like that, it severed the remaining tongues so swiftly.
The Hunter King Zombie was faster than them all. It leapt from the ruins, claws extended, and it was aiming straight for Bismarck!
“Ho… You made a mistake…”
Bismarck was preoccupied with the Zombie Lord but as soon as he noticed the Hunter King’s presence, he immediately moved back…
Then, her third eye activated, unleashing a wave of telekinetic force. The Hunter froze mid-air, suspended like a puppet.
“Break it!” Bismarck roared.
A volley of arrows, daggers, and spells struck the immobilized Hunter King.
In just a few moments, its body convulsed, and its armor cracked…
It then crashed to the ground and was trying to regenerate slowly.
The three Kings were faltering, but Fiona’s rat saw the true terror looming behind them.
Bonehorn the Ravager was finally taking this matter seriously.
The colossal Zombie Lord’s horns glowed with sinister energy, and with a single stomp, shockwaves rippled through the ruins. Walls crumbled, debris flew, and several Raiders were thrown off balance.
“Shit…”
Everything happened so quickly…
Bismarck raised his Doomfang Halberd… Then, he activated Soul Rend, striking Bonehorn’s spirit directly. The Lord staggered, its regeneration slowed, but it was only the start of their battle.
Bonehorn charged, its horns smashing through stone.
One Raider’s shield shattered instantly after planning to block the attack, but in the end, he was only sent several meters away.
“Don’t stop!”
Another Night Raider unleashed a flaming arrow!
Boom!
The impact was powerful, but the Bonehorn’s bone armor regenerated, sealing the wound almost instantly.
“Focus fire!” Bismarck commanded, his aura pressing down on friend and foe alike.
The Raiders unleashed everything.
Hanzo blinked across the battlefield, his dagger continued hitting the Bonehorn’s joints.
Kresh’s axe cleaved into its leg, red energy flaring as he absorbed its essence.
The Twin Serpent Blades dripped venom, slicing through Bonehorn’s armor and it was leaving sizzling wounds.
Arrows of fire and ice rained down, spears pierced its hide, and shields flared to protect the squad.
Everything was coordinated well!
Bonehorn roared, its horns glowing brighter. It slammed them into the ground, creating a shockwave that sent rubble flying.
Several Raiders were wounded, coughing blood, but they rose again, since they had brought plenty of potions and medicines…
Bismarck’s third eye seemed to have gathered enough energy as it soon blazed like a star. He unleashed a telekinetic storm, hurling debris at Bonehorn, pinning its limbs for precious seconds.
“Now! Bring it down!”
The Raiders didn’t have to be instructed twice… In just a few moments, explosions rocked the battlefield, venom ate through armor, and blades pierced deep. Bonehorn staggered, and its vitality was dropping lower and lower.
Fiona’s rat squeaked, overwhelmed by the chaos, but she forced it to stay.
At this time, Fiona’s heart raced in the meditation chamber. “They’re actually doing it… They’re weakening a Lord.”
Bonehorn roared one last time, its horns dimming as its body faltered.
Bismarck squinted as he felt that it was time…
Soon, he raised the Zombie Slaving Scroll, while blood dripped onto its runes. It was one of the requirements for the activation…
In just a few moments, Chains of spectral energy erupted, wrapping around Bonehorn. The Lord thrashed, resisting, but the Raiders struck again, driving it to its knees.
The scroll pulsed, consuming Spirit Points from his body. Bismarck gritted his teeth, his body trembling from the backlash.
“Submit!” he roared as he struck with his halberd, piercing Bonehorn’s chest.
The chains tightened, dragging the Lord’s essence into the scroll.
Roooarrrr!!!
Bonehorn’s roar echoed across the ruins before fading into silence.
The battlefield stilled.
Soon, even the three Kings lay dead while Bonehorn was enslaved.
The Night Raiders stood bloodied but victorious…
Fiona’s rat trembled as they felt the gaze of the Third Eye once again… Soon, Fiona pulled her awareness back, gasping softly in Blue Haven Shelter.
“They actually enslaved a Zombie Lord,” she whispered. Her lips curved into a sly smile. “Shane will want to know every detail.”
***
Shane’s lips curled into a grin as Fiona’s message reached him.
The Rat Princess had done her job well. A Zombie Lord was enslaved, three Kings were slain, and the Night Raiders left battered and drained of Spirit Points.
“Perfect timing,” Shane thought as he adjusted the straps of his pack.
“Exhausted predators are the easiest prey. And those Legendary items… they’ll be mine.”
Within minutes, he arrived at the collapsed fortress. The stench of blood and bone hung heavy in the air. The Night Raiders stood scattered, catching their breath, potions half‑empty, with their armor cracked. Even Bismarck’s third eye glowed faintly and it was dimmer than before.
Shane didn’t hesitate. He reached into his inventory and pulled out the Zombie Mask…
As he placed it over his face, his body convulsed. Muscles bulged, bones cracked, and his skin hardened into a Zombie-like body…
In seconds, Shane had transformed into a towering Tyrant Zombie, his aura radiating raw menace.
As soon as he got closer, the Night Raiders spun around with their weapons raised.
“Another zombie?!” one shouted with a hint of panic… After all, it failed to notice its arrival until it was closer.
“Wait… that’s just a Tyrant Zombie!” another followed, trying to steady the group. “We can kill it. Don’t panic.”
They had just defeated Bonehorn and three Kings. To them, a Tyrant Zombie was nothing more than a high-tier nuisance.
Or so they thought.
