Chapter 1735: Error
[Quest “Path of the Cryst Emperor (Legendary)” Completed]

[Clearance Level: Legendary]

[Rewards]

[>Glassvolt Cryst][>Glassvolt Cryst Emperor (Gene Class) (Legendary) (E)]

—

Sylas took a breath but suppressed whatever desire he had to accept his upgrade. He was very sensitive about his foundation, and he knew for a fact that it would be far better to upgrade both of his Gene Classes at the same time.

While Salivar didn’t follow this route, that was because his main Aether Path was the foundation for the other two. His overall path was also quite odd.

He didn’t actually have a Tri-Class Constitution. Instead, he had something approximating it. While it was more flexible than a true Tri-Class, it also had certain limitations that other Tri-Classes didn’t—namely the danger involved.

Though Salivar had managed to make it to the E-tier, there was no guarantee he would be able to make it to the D-tier or beyond. Every tier he improved beyond would come with its own danger.

However, Sylas was very interested in something else…

Namely, his ability to use more than one Comprehension at the same time.

Granted, Sylas felt like Salivar had wasted this ability. All of his Comprehensions were related to energy and Intelligence, so Salivar lacked a great deal of balance.

Much like most things in this world, if you gained too much in one aspect, you began to waste a lot of what you had earned. Salivar’s Intelligence was off the charts, but a lot of it was dimmed and weakened by his other aspects.

Of course, this was just Sylas nitpicking. Salivar was clearly an enemy who was extremely powerful. He couldn’t remember the last time he had struggled so much against someone within a level of him—even if that level difference also represented a tier difference.

All of this was to say that… Sylas took Salivar’s corpse.

Something told Sylas that doing this would get him in a great deal more trouble, but he did it anyway.

At some point, your enemies would be so infuriated that offending them more wouldn’t make much of a difference. And at the point they were at now, they had surely blitzed well by that.

That said, there was one of the rewards that Sylas did bring out.

—

[Rewards]

[>Glassvolt Cryst]

—

Sylas pulled the reward out from the system screen, using his Scorned Wraps subtly to stop the system from automatically deploying both at the same time.

He knew that he would have rewards for the Quicktime Event as well, but right now wasn’t exactly the best time to patiently go through such items one by one.

This reward, though… he couldn’t resist.

What looked like a smooth, spherical Aetherstone landed in Sylas’ palm.

Aetherstone didn’t usually look like this. It was irregular, quite like mined crystal should look. But this looked like it had been polished and prepped to hang from some rich aristocrat’s neck.

Just holding it there, though, Sylas felt as though all the Glassvolt in his body was being pulled toward a single direction. It passively filtered through the crystal before it passed to his body right after.

—

[Glassvolt Cryst (Fusion Treasure) (Legendary)]

[The Path of the Glassvolt is uniquely yours. Crowned with an heirship of your own making, you sit on a throne that looks down upon the world. Absorb your Cryst, form your Imperial Emblem, and step onto the mantle of the Glassvolt Cryst Emperor.]

—

The description was quite vague, so Sylas used the Virtue Madness Key to find out what was really in his palm before he nodded to himself.

Technically, Gene Crystals and things of the like were also Fusion Treasures, but they were so important, pivotal, and ubiquitous compared to others that they were often placed into a categorization of their own.

This Glassvolt Cryst was system-crafted, created for the sole purpose of allowing whomever earned it to become a true Cryst Emperor. So long as Sylas used it, he would immediately become one. But he would need another for the E-tier, and then another for the D-tier, and then another beyond that for the C-tier, and so on.

It was a treasure that most would drool over. To become a Cryst Emperor would immediately put you in a class of your own.

However, Sylas had no desire to do such a thing. Instead…

Seeing Weaver.

The sphere of Glassvolt seemed to explode in his palm, the Runes that formed it flashing by Sylas’ psyche one after another as he lost himself in complete immersion.

He seemed to forget about the world around him, forget about how many people wanted his life, forget about the pressure that would soon be falling right onto his shoulders.

While the world was losing their minds about the end of the battle, he had already moved on like it never happened at all, his entire focus on the streaking lights right in front of his face.

In a distant past, understanding Runes as complex as this would have been beyond him. Even with the advantage of his Glassvolt affinity, it would have been too much. These Runes were beyond Genes, beyond Gene Talents, beyond even Soul Constructs.

They connected with a deeper layer, communicating with the Will Manifestations and even further into Will Core.

But now, laid out before Sylas…

He could see through it all.

That wasn’t to say that he could suddenly draw Blood Essence like he could Genes. No. The reason he was able to do this was because his starting position was so high.

His Mixed Demonic Arts, his Glassvolt Legendary Gene Class, his Void Rune Mastery…

They all came together to paint a perfect picture…

And then he exhaled.

I see. So that’s what it means to be a Cryst Emperor.

Rumble.

The world shook, and the system glitched.

The system seemed to go back and forth with itself, not understanding what to do.
