Chapter 367: Chapter 367 – Lightning Left Behind
The Nimbus Carriage shot forward with flashes of thunderous lightning, leaving the massive floating island of storm and lightning far behind. Even the booming crashes and roaring explosions from the island were still clearly heard as the carriage, fragile and small compared to the mighty island, sped away into the distance.
Could Atlas really say he had managed to conquer this floating island, the rank-4 floating island with its brutally harsh environment?
Yes, he and his team had taken down several field boss monsters, creatures with Epic-grade strength, and they even managed to bring back trophies from the hunt. Yet he knew well that an island of that size should still harbor monsters far stronger than the ones they encountered.
At the very least, they were lucky that the monsters they met were only Epic grade. Not even Unique.
Some time later, they approached Kaeris’s Floating Island and soon after that, everyone was given treatment, because their condition had been that terrible. Almost everyone, even Kurogasa, who always seemed the most composed and able to handle anything with near perfect control.

Atlas found himself sitting on a bed, leaning back after who knew how long he had been asleep since arriving here. Two people were tending his wounds at his side, casting healing magic over him as they worked.
“How is Elyndra’s condition?” he said afterward.
A young woman in her early twenties, also one of Atlas’s subordinates, lifted her face. “My lord, Lady Elyndra has recovered, but Lord Edrik forbids her from using her power for now because she exhausted too much strength in the last fight, so she might not be able to use her abilities for a while after this.”
Atlas gave a slow nod.
He looked at the wound on his arm, the one whose marks were now fading as the muscle fibers had finally reconnected. Even though the large scar was still visible, it looked like his skin held the trail of a river cut deep across it. And now both of his arms carried that same mark.
At this rate, Atlas would truly end up collecting many scars across his body.
Even though the healing could help regenerate him, it did not mean the scars would vanish perfectly one hundred percent. It was still fortunate that he regained full function of his hand and did not lose it altogether.
So, scars were still better than losing his life, at the very least
Until the door to the room was knocked on and two people walked inside, a girl in casual clothing with black hair and beside her a short-haired redhead.
“Yo, Atlas,” Ember said.
“Hi, I see you two are doing well,” he said with a faint smile.
“We should be the ones saying that after you almost dragged yourself and your precious people into death in that suicide mission, haha,” Ember said as they stood near Atlas while he was still receiving treatment.
“I heard you managed to get what you were looking for there,” Luna said afterward. “Congrats for that. Although, I am sure only you would dare to pull off something this crazy. At least I believe everyone in your team really acted perfectly and executed everything so well.”
“Everyone fought hard,” Atlas said, turning to Luna, and she gave him a smile after that.
“And… thanks to you as well,” she continued.
Atlas tilted his head.
“I also gained experience points from the battle you went through. You know that, right?”
“Yes, I knew it, but thanks to you our combat potential was pushed to the maximum, Luna, so what about it.”
“Now I have reached level 175. And with at least two more wins in the lord battle, I will reach rank 3.”
“A lord at level 150 should qualify for rank 3. It is great to hear you are catching up. With this, we have a bigger chance of winning in the next battle.”
She smiled and nodded afterward, responding to Atlas’s words.
Actually, Atlas himself was already at level 167, which meant he had also met the first qualification to rise to rank 3. However, his rank points were still far too low to reach that rank. And his subordinates, overall, still had not caught up in terms of their average levels.
So, if Atlas truly advanced to rank 3 before he was fully prepared, it would turn out badly as well.
“How many rank points do you have right now, Atlas?” Luna continued.
“Ninety,” he said. “I still need four hundred ten more rank points to reach rank 3.”
Luna nodded after that. “You also just advanced to rank 2 last season, so you still have plenty of time.”
At least now that Atlas was at a safe level, he could focus on sharpening his skills and strengthening his combat techniques. He also needed to train every element he had already acquired.
He had truly reached a new stage in both Earth and Magnetic Earth, yet even then it was still far from perfect, and his tasks were nowhere near finished.
He still had to improve his combat techniques using Shadow and Blood, which were both still quite behind. Not to mention he needed to keep pushing his progress with Fire and Air after going deep with Water and Earth.
Training after training, yet Atlas could clearly see the results of everything he had done.
Like… he actually managed to defeat a level 212 Epic Grade monster. He and Elyndra took it down with only the two of them.
He knew that he received support from Luna’s ability, and Dullorak had assisted from afar as well, but it was still an incredibly huge leap from anything he ever thought he could achieve.
Because once monsters pass level 200, they also receive massive upgrades to their abilities, just like humans.
Some time later, another person entered the room, and just as Atlas expected, Edrik stepped inside, already in perfect condition and looking completely fine.
“Well, get enough rest, Atlas. You can take it easy for now while we finish leveling up the forces,” Ember said.
Luna smiled and nodded gently. “Tell us anything you need.”
Then the two of them left afterward.
Edrik then stood at the end of Atlas’s bed with a faint smile and gave him a slight bow.
“You seem fully recovered, my lord. Planning to go on another expedition while we still have time?” he said, though Atlas knew the man was teasing him.
“You are getting bolder, huh, Edrik.”
Edrik smiled after that. “I want to show you the incredible loot we gained in the final moments of yesterday’s battle,” he said.
“The monster cores?” he continued with a curious expression.
During the trip back, they had all been in such terrible condition that there had been almost no conversation until they were rescued on this island.
Edrik bowed again and lifted both his hands.
A faint energy began to appear as something formed above his palms. It was shaped like a sphere, no, slightly elongated at one end. Like an egg…
A massive egg with a black outer layer and streaks of yellow running across the entire shell.
“An egg?”
Edrik gave a faint smile. “A beast egg, tempest-class. This is a great gift for you. You possess elements that match it perfectly,” he continued.
