Chapter 482: Perish
After getting the item, he turned to look at Nyss and asked, “Should we head back? I want to check this sword formation after returning to the mansion.”

Nyss quickly nodded her head and stood up, “Let’s go back.” She already wanted to leave before one of the girls tried to make a move on Orion.

She had heard much about such girls in popular establishments who tried to join stronger powers for their own gain. And to do that they would employ any means.

She wasn’t sure if he could resist their temptation, so she was eager to leave with him.

Orion didn’t think much and stood up to leave.

One of the girls quickly took a step forward and asked, “Sir, the auction hasn’t ended yet. Are you sure you want to leave?”

He gently smiled at her and nodded his head, “Yes, my gains were good this time. Thank you for your hospitality. Farewell.”

Saying so, he went towards the door and exited the private room, followed by Nyss.

The girls looked at each other with a sense of loss.

“That sir was so gentle…”

“If only I could serve such a lord, I wouldn’t have to worry about my future like this.”

The girl in the lead, who had been taking care of the conversation with Orion till now, shook her head, “Didn’t you see the jinx of the Blackwell family with him? We don’t even know how long he will survive if he stays with her. We might even fall due to misfortune if we stay with her for long.”

One of the other girls also patted her plump bosom and nodded with a fearful look on her face, “I was really scared the entire time. She is even colder than the rumors suggest. I wonder how that sir can tolerate such an iceberg.”

Since the guests had left the room, the girls were free now, so they continued to idle chat with each other.

At another part of the city lay a hidden alleyway with a path leading to an underground basement.

Inside, four people were sitting in a large stone hall with minimal decoration and only some wooden furniture like tables and chairs. The atmosphere was gloomy due to the mere presence of the ghost-like people.

All of them were wearing dark cloaks while talking among themselves.

One of them said, “The report was correct. Orion Helstorm is indeed a Draconian. And there is no one to guard him here from the Helstorm manor.”

Another one spoke, “But there are still a few Exalted Grade cultivators in the city. One from the academy and a couple from the city lord’s mansion. It will be a bit tough to make a move on him.”

The third person sitting on the chair perked up, “What are you afraid of? We have three Exalted Grade cultivators from the Insanity Creed as well as Lord Gura. With four Exalted beings, who can stop us?”

The Lord Gura he spoke of slowly lifted the veil of the dark cloak as two goat-like horns were revealed protruding from his forehead. He condescendingly gazed at the three people from Insanity Creed as if they were his servants and nodded his head, “Don’t worry about the people from the city lord’s mansion. We demons will take care of them.”

The first person nodded his head and said, “We need to make a move soon. I think he has felt our gaze on the battlefield back then. We shouldn’t make more complications.”

The third person curiously looked at Gura and asked, “Lord Gura, forgive me for my rudeness, but I always wanted to ask. Why do the higher-ups always ask us to collect people with special bloodlines? Like the Draconian.”

Gura glanced coldly at the third person and indifferently said, “There is no harm in telling you. Let’s talk about the Draconian. If we can capture a Draconian with a rather pure bloodline, then we can raise him like a pig and slowly drain his blood to cultivate our Demonic Dragons. Similarly, some special groups among us demons cultivate using rare bloodlines.”

The third one asked with confusion, “Then why don’t the lords above capture True Dragons directly?”

Gura’s face turned cold as he loudly berated, “Shut up! Who do you think you are that you can comment on what the lords think? Just do what you are told, otherwise you won’t even know how you died.”

The second person quickly spoke up to smooth things over, “Cough, Lord Gura, he is new, so he doesn’t understand many things. Please forgive him, he won’t talk nonsense anymore.”

Gura calmed down hearing his words and didn’t bother with the third person. What else could he even say to him? That the demons didn’t have the guts to attack Dragon Island in fear they would be wiped out by those monsters?

They didn’t even dare to set their sights on the lone dragons wandering on the Zorathal continent in fear they might have deep ties with Dragon Island and could only hunt down Draconians.

The old-timers like the first person and the second person obviously knew this, while the third one was a newcomer, so he didn’t know about it.

The first person changed the subject back to Orion, “Alright, first let’s finalize the details on how we can capture him. I can feel that the dragon bloodline on him is rather pure, reaching nearly the same level as a True Dragon—”

BOOM!!

The underground shook as the large stone gate turned to dust while an average-looking female figure calmly stepped inside while hugging a sword.

She looked at the four figures sitting in the center table with eyes devoid of any emotion as if she was looking at objects instead of living beings. Her soft lips parted as she lightly uttered, “Perish.”

The faces of the four of them changed, but before they could do anything, all of them burst into blood mist before even the blood mist turned to dust and vanished without a trace.

She looked at the place where the four of them were sitting and muttered to herself, “You are too strong for him to face for now. You shouldn’t have targeted him so soon…”

Gently shaking her head, she turned around and left.

Orion and Nyss flew through the city and moved back towards the mansion. Nyss’s mood seemed to have lightened a lot compared to before when she was with him inside the auction house.

As the two of them headed back, she curiously asked him, “Why did you buy so many materials?”

Orion turned his head and replied with a smile, “Didn’t you know? I’m a runesmith as well as an alchemist. Though I haven’t done much in the alchemy field yet, I have made weapons before.”

Nyss’s eyes sparkled; she didn’t know he had dabbled in runesmithing and alchemy as well. “Then it looks like you won’t be short of resources in the future. As long as your success rate in making weapons or pills/potions is good enough, then you won’t suffer losses.”

The two of them continued to chat along the way before they soon reached the mansion. Nyss went her way while Orion headed towards his room.
