Chapter 471: Old Demon
Orion nodded in agreement while looking around at the bewildered gazes of the demonic beasts and the human soldiers, he calmly smiled and said, “Were you guys trying to tickle me? Put some more force into it so it can be called a comfortable massage.”

All the humanoid demons paused, unsure how to act. To say they wanted to attack would be correct, but to say they were too afraid to provoke this calamity would be correct as well.

They were stuck between a rock and a hard place, not knowing whether to attack or not.

Orion didn’t bother to stop for them though. He mumbled the names of his spells one by one which zoomed through the sky and attacked all the surrounding demons.

While those Tier 8 demonic beasts and demons who survived them were met with a precise Astral Sword, instantly cleaved in half.

There weren’t many Tier 8 demons so his Nine Astral Swords were more than enough to deal with most demonic beasts.

And this instantly alleviated most of the pressure from this side of the battlefield.

Soldiers and generals alike looked at Orion with shock and… awe. They hadn’t expected such a young man to hold such great power.

One of the generals finally came back to his senses and shouted, “Alright what are you all waiting for?! Let’s leave this side to sir here and join the other side.”

He quickly mobilized the idle soldiers while leaving only a few to maintain the defense line. But no demon was able to leave Orion’s onslaught.

Deep within the demonic army, an old demon stood tall, overseeing the entire battlefield. He had two goat-like horns on his head and a pair of demonic wings with a long tail.

His gaze shifted towards Orion’s position as his eyes squinted, “Is that… one of the prodigies arrived from the Thunderpeak Royal Academy to this battlefield?”

Another demon respectfully took a step forward and reported, “Sir, he is Orion Helstorm. One of the top prodigies of the Thunderpeak Kingdom. He is also the heir of Duke House Helstorm.”

The old demon looked deeply towards Orion with intense killing intent, “A prodigy of the human race… We need to kill him as soon as possible.”

The demon who had reported Orion’s situation nodded in agreement, “Should I send a few of my subordinates to deal with him? I think 5 Tier 9 Demons would be enough to handle him.”

Hearing his subordinate’s words, the old demon shook his head, “All these geniuses are protected by the will of the world to a certain extent. As long as the force attacking them does not exceed by a large margin, it is hard to kill them. I will personally make a move.”

The other demon looked towards the old demon in shock, as if wanting to ask, You, an Exalted Grade demon, will personally attack a junior?

But he didn’t dare to say anything even if he felt it was excessive for him to personally take action. He quietly stood behind the old demon with his head lowered, waiting for further command.

The old demon also didn’t waste further time, “Alright I’m going to take care of him. He has already caused a stir on that side of the battlefield. If we let him run rampant then we will face heavy losses.”

Without waiting for his subordinate to reply, he took a step forward and soared towards the sky but before he could move towards Orion, another pressure bore down on him.

Equally as strong as his own, his gaze shifted from the battlefield towards the sky. He didn’t bother with Orion any further because he knew it was futile, with that person present he wouldn’t be able to attack the students of the Thunderpeak Royal Academy as long as he’s not dead.

After soaring above the clouds, he stopped and looked towards a battle-hardened old man with a face full of scars.

“Old dog Hargan, I didn’t expect you to accompany those kids yourself.” The Old Demon said with a hint of disdain in his voice.

Hargan, the vice dean of the Thunderpeak Royal Academy, had personally arrived with the students to this battlefield after thinking it over.

He wasn’t sure if an Exalted Grade demon would be here or not as normally this location was presided over by a few Pseudo Exalted Grade demons.

But fortunately he had come with them, otherwise it would have been a tragedy.

Hargan looked at the old demon with unconcealed killing intent in his eyes, “If lowly demons like you can come to this battlefield, why can’t I come?”

The old demon chuckled playfully, “Of course, why wouldn’t the great vice dean Hargan come to this battlefield? Looks like the scars that Azrul gave you have healed.”

BOOM!!

Hargan’s aura exploded all over the world, his body emitted intense pressure as the colors of the clouds changed. He furiously looked at the old demon, “WHERE IS THAT BASTARD!!!”

But the Old Demon wasn’t intimidated in the slightest, he still looked at the enraged Hargan with a playful smile and said, “Well defeat me and I’ll tell you? It’s a pity I can’t personally see your face when Azrul killed your family in front of you. Ah~ It would have been so satisfying to kill them with my own hands while you helplessly watch without any power to change anythi—”

BOOM!!

Hargan’s eyes turned red as his body emitted intense heat waves, completely turning the surrounding atmosphere devoid of any water.

Old Demon’s face finally turned serious, because Hargan wasn’t that weakling from before. Now, he was on equal standing as these demons.

“It’s a pity Azrul didn’t kill you back then and now has created such a troublesome opponent for us.” He shook his head with feigned pity while his surrounding turned dark.

He utilized his Darkness element fully and occupied half of the space where the two of them were confronting each other.

One side was brilliant orange and yellow, while the other side was abyssal black like night. Both of them stared at each other with intense killing intent.

Hargan didn’t hold back anymore and with a shake of his hand a long spear appeared in his hand. His spear was filled with intense fiery aura, “Today, I will kill you and then later find that lowlife to avenge my family.”

By now he had calmed down as well. He knew he couldn’t be enraged fighting an opponent of similar level, especially demons who were famed as insidious and cunning.

The Old Demon smiled strangely, “Can you leave here alive though?”

***

Orion continued his massacre of the demons and demonic beasts without knowing that a great battle had erupted above the skies. All the demons and humans were too busy with their own battles to look at other places.

Boom!

Orion cleaved another Tier 8 demon in half with his dual swords while his spells continued firing nonstop on the battlefield. By now, over 30% of his mana had been depleted after killing thousands of demonic beasts.

But he didn’t stop and continued his killing spree. And without him realizing, his body started to possess a special kind of aura. The killing aura. The more he killed, the heavier his killing aura became.

The last time, in the lower world, hundreds of millions of beings had died due to his battle with the vampire clan. But most of them had died due to indirect causes like earth fracturing or mountains collapsing.

Orion wasn’t directly involved in it so he hadn’t retained such rich killing aura. But the demon beasts he killed were all killed by his own hands personally. And this killing aura added a heavy sense of oppression to his aura.

Whoever looked at him would first feel fear if he didn’t control his aura properly due to his sharp edge.

But he didn’t notice it yet and Lumi didn’t remind him since it wasn’t important. There were some techniques that could use killing aura as a means of attack but clearly Orion didn’t have them.

While he was going on his killing spree, the demons in the surrounding were getting more and more fearful that they would be the next ones to be killed by him.

If it wasn’t due to the strict hierarchy of the demon race, they would have long fled the battlefield. But the consequence of fleeing from the battlefield was even worse than death, so none of them had the courage to leave.

Soon, a few Tier 9 demon beasts surrounded Orion, finally slowing down his killing spree.

He looked around him in surprise, “2 Tier 9 Demons and 3 Tier 9 Demonic Beasts? What a grand gesture.” His lips curled into a mocking smile.

As if mocking the demons for being too fearful of a mere Tier 8 human and sending so many powerhouses of Tier 9 level to deal with him alone.

But none of the demons fell for his trick. They had personally seen him cutting down Tier 8 demons as if cutting down grass. No one wanted to be killed like a chicken being butchered.

The five demons slowly spread around him in a circle, leaving him no room to run away.
