Chapter 469: Battlefield
Suddenly, a vast light spread throughout the legion and everyone felt their spirit immediately lifted as if a gentle cold breeze was blowing during hot summer.

All of them could feel their spirits gradually recovering while their fatigue gradually vanished.

Orion’s gaze quickly shifted as he saw a huge magic circle above Arya’s head. A drop of sweat slid down her cheek as she used a large-scale AOE spell to replenish everyone’s spirits.

He moved and arrived beside her before gently caressing her cheek to wipe off the sweat. She slightly blushed seeing his actions in front of everyone.

“You shouldn’t have acted so soon. They could have withstood it for a while longer easily.” Orion slightly admonished her.

Arya closed her eyes for a second, enjoying the sensation of him gently caressing her cheek before softly saying, “It would be less effective if I did it when they are fully exhausted. You don’t have to worry Brother Orion, I took a lot of treasures for replenishment this time.”

Everyone’s lips twitched seeing the two of them like this.

Elias coughed and lightly said with a half smile, “Cough, Commander, I think you should oversee the overall situation of the battlefield.”

Rina and Fiora, who hadn’t made a move yet, also looked at Orion and Arya with amused smiles.

Orion, having thick skin, just ignored their comments and said to Arya, “Alright then you take it easy. Don’t push yourself too hard.”

And then he soared back into the sky, looking at the demons.

Arya felt sweet in her heart seeing him leave, determining in her heart not to perform poorly in this expedition.

After soaring in the sky, Orion looked at the battlefield, ‘Hmm, I wonder if I can gleam any information on them from Eye of Revelation. How much is the cost for looking at details of those below my level, Lil Lumi?’

[Master can look at the details of those below him free of cost. (¬‿¬ )]

Orion raised an eyebrow, ‘Such a good thing? Why didn’t I know of it before?’

[Hehe, it was a mini upgrade when you reached Tier 8. I tried to connect with that thing and tried to alter the system. I was successful but it seems like trying to change it again will be much more difficult in the future.]

‘That thing?’ He curiously asked, ‘What thing are you talking about?’

[Source Origin. You don’t need to worry about that right now Master. It’s useless even if you know. Let’s focus on completing the mission. You can try to use the Illusion Shattering Mirror as well.]

This reminded Orion that he had got a soul-bound treasure during his ascended gacha draw before. It was the Illusion Shattering Mirror that could help to shatter the illusion of all beings in his eyes as long as they were not 2 grades above him.

But it was restricted to 2 uses per week and he had not found a suitable opportunity to use it yet. So it was gathering dust in his Sea of Consciousness until now.

‘Alright.’ He took a deep breath and activated the Illusion Shattering Mirror.

Nothing happened outside but his eyes gained a faint silvery hue, rotating into complex symbols as he swept his gaze towards the demons.

There, he saw 4 humanoid monsters hiding in between the beasts and giving them orders. His gaze turned cold as he utilized his soul power to lock onto the enemies while activating his thunder spell.

[Stormpiercer Bolt]

[Stormpiercer Bolt]

[Stormpiercer Bolt]

[Stormpiercer Bolt]

He activated the spell four times in quick succession before firing it at once towards the demons.

Boom!

Boom!

…

Explosions echoed in the battlefield continuously but this time, the sound was different. Because just after the four attacks landed, the attacks of the demonic beasts became weaker while their barrage of attacks slowed down.

Clearly, their chain of command had been broken and the demons were now like headless flies, looking at each other in confusion but also not stopping their attack on the humans in front of them.

They didn’t have much intelligence to begin with, and now that their chain of command had broken, it was even more chaotic.

Orion didn’t miss this chance and shouted, “Attack! Their chain of command is broken! Kill them all!”

Everyone’s eyes lit up hearing his words, they increased the intensity of their attacks while the mages who were resting also joined in on the massacre.

Orion continued to attack every once in a while to save someone. While the Deputy Commanders imitated him, actively helping others while also learning the attack patterns of demonic beasts for future attacks.

The battle continued for 3 hours until they killed all the demonic beasts that had arrived towards them. But the situation of the entire battlefield had not changed much just because they had killed a few thousand demon beasts.

Instead, the attacks of the demon beasts were becoming increasingly intense. But he didn’t even get the chance to look around before another group of demon beasts arrived to attack them.

Orion frowned seeing nearly 2 thousand demonic beasts charging towards their group. He wasn’t worried about the group but he didn’t want to face such a continuous onslaught of demonic beasts again and again.

But there was nothing he could do. He wasn’t strong enough to directly annihilate the entire demonic beast army on his own. And this was not even the main force of the demonic beast army.

These were only the ones which had come from the front cities. Otherwise the number of demonic beasts might be tens of times larger than it is now.

He took a deep breath as nine Astral Swords appeared around him.

The Legion members looked towards Orion with surprise.

“Peak Advanced Grade Sword Aura?”

“This guy is really a monster. How long has it been since he learned Sword Aura? Not even a few months right?”

“The difference between some people is really greater than the difference between people and dogs.” Some said with a bitter smile.

The others also nodded, by now, most of the students had given up trying to compete with Orion so they were mostly admiring him.

But there were some who were still unconvinced by him, but seeing him casually take out Nine Astral Swords, most of them shut up and honestly fought against the demonic beasts.

Orion directly controlled the Nine Astral Swords with his mind and began cutting down demonic beasts like slaughtering chickens.

He had decided to go all out now. Because this demon wave seemed different from the ones he had heard about before. There were too many demons and all groups of demonic beasts had a few humanoid demons leading them.

He called out to Arya, “Arya, come up and take control of the Legion. You can handle my work with your Light and Thunder spells.”

Arya listened to him but frowned her brows slightly while moving towards him in the sky, “Brother Orion, are you thinking of fighting on the front lines yourself?”

Orion turned to look at her gravely, “I’m one of the strongest on this battlefield. There are no Exalted Grade beings here and without them appearing, I’m almost invincible.”
