Chapter 462: Training The Legion
Orion closed the door behind him and went towards his bed while stretching his hand above his head, ‘Wasn’t that quite an eventful day Lil Lumi?’
Lumi’s enthusiastic voice echoed in his head,
[Yes Master! So many students were beaten up by Elias and the others. And you also showed them who’s the boss! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ]
Orion lightly shook his head while saying, ‘How do you stay so enthusiastic all the time? Don’t you get exhausted?’
[Hehe, I’m always bored here Master. I just wait for you to talk with me. Otherwise mostly I just watch what’s happening outside or read the novels in your memory. But most of them are fragmented, since your memory is not perfect so I can’t even read them yet…(╥_╥)]
‘…’ Orion got silent hearing her cheerful words, despite her not saying so, he could feel that she was rather lonely being stuck in one place without having anyone else to interact with.
He inwardly heaved a sigh, “I will try to reach the Exalted Grade as soon as possible so I can have perfect memory. Then you won’t be bored.”
He didn’t have any other way right now. He couldn’t let her out and interact with others since he didn’t have such an ability, and the only thing he could do was to get stronger as soon as possible.
[Don’t worry about me Master! I’m fine. You should just focus on getting stronger so you won’t die by some idiot. (≧◡≦)]
He gently smiled hearing her words, yet a fire burned in his chest, he wanted to let her be more free, to interact with others so she wouldn’t be confined to his soul alone.
“Alright then I’ll go to sleep. Tomorrow will be another fun day, hopefully those guys can do this themselves and I won’t have to bother much…” muttering to himself, he went to his bed and lay down to sleep.
The room became silent as the only voice remaining was the sound of Orion’s even breathing. Lumi’s floating screen floated above his head as she looked at him with gentle eyes whispering,
[You don’t need to rush to be stronger for my sake Master… after all, I exist for your sake, not the other way around…]
Asteraxa was the only one who heard her words but she didn’t comment. She was already used to a life of solitude as even before becoming the Sword Spirit of Soulpiercer, she used to spend millions or even hundreds of millions of years alone or sleeping in the void.
But Lumi was different, she had the same age as Orion and her mentality was similar to that of a teen girl. She wasn’t the Limitless System who had all the memories from the creation of itself, otherwise who knows what her personality would have become.
Lumi’s floating screen vanished as she went to rest in his SoC again.
Morning sun rose as Orion left his room after getting refreshed and doing his morning procedure like training his mana, body, and taking a bath.
Afterwards, he headed for breakfast with everyone. Garron had arrived for breakfast as well, saying that since they were going to work together then it’s better to get more familiar.
Orion and the others had no problem with this as the breakfast soon came to an end amidst the laughter and chatter of the group.
After a couple hours, students started to arrive at the back of the mansion. Orion had given them a time yesterday saying that there would be training happening here today.
So most students had come on time and in a few minutes, all the students had arrived.
Orion stood in front of everyone with the 7 Deputy Commanders standing a step behind him. And in front of him, 7 groups of students stood in lines, “Alright now that everyone is here, your Deputy Commanders will start your training. They won’t train you to become powerful but instead will help to make the coordination between all of you better so you won’t kill each other on the battlefield.”
He looked at everyone and continued, “While I will supervise the progress of everyone. No slacker is allowed here, otherwise you will have to spar with Sylvia.”
Sylvia’s lips twitched as she looked at Orion with a resentful gaze, ‘What does he mean?? Does he think everyone would hate sparring with me?’
Then she turned her head to look at the students and everyone hurriedly turned their faces away from her, fearing to meet her eyes and making themselves stand out. No one wanted to fight against this battle maniac, even if she was a beauty.
Sylvia’s face darkened seeing everyone’s reaction, taking a step further, she said with a loud and clear voice, “Don’t worry Commander, I will make sure to take ‘care’ of everyone during the training.”
Her sharp gaze looked at each and every student of not only her group but also the other six groups.
Orion nodded his head with a smile and took two steps back, standing behind the other Deputy Commanders, “Then you can take it from here. I won’t interfere further.”
He went to the back and lay down on a reclining chair that he had arranged beforehand. Laying down on it, Arya and Fiora came to serve him as one of them massaged his shoulders while the other fed him grapes.
Everyone speechlessly looked at his nonchalant expression as he observed everyone. Even Arya and the others looked at him with strange gazes but none of them commented.
After all, he was powerful enough to overpower all of them, none of them had any complaints since he was the strongest here.
The seven Deputy Commanders took their own groups further apart from everyone and began telling them how to form formations, making the warriors stand in front, specifically the shield users and other blunt weapon users.
While the Earth mages were asked to make small platforms where the mages could stand and cast spells freely.
Orion looked at everyone training orderly and softly said, “Mages will also need to deal with the demons who will be flying from the sky towards the city walls.”
Rina nodded her head, “Yes, but flying all the time will consume too much of their mana, so it’s not sustainable in such a long war. Making platforms is still better than that.”
Fiora also agreed, “After all, not everyone has absurd amounts of mana like Master.”
Orion helplessly shook his head hearing their words, “I can’t do anything about me being too much of a genius now can I?”
The two of them rolled their eyes at him, but didn’t refute him since he indeed was too much of a genius.
The three of them continued to watch everyone train. No one among the students slacked even a little, seemingly not wanting to spar with Sylvia at all costs, or they wanted to increase their chances of survival.
No one could tell and no one wanted to tell as well.
The practice continued till evening. The students were allowed to rest after 1 hour the first time for 15 minutes. Then they continued to train for 1 hour 30 minutes and then get 15 minutes of rest, then they continued to train for 2 hours…
Like that, the Deputy Commanders also trained the stamina of everyone. But the main issue of the group were the mages. Most of them could only cast 15–20 spells of their own grade due to the high mana requirement.
But it was also a weakness of the mages, though those 15–20 spells could clear out a big enough area where the Legion would be stationed, so Orion decided to tell the mages to act in rotation.
