Chapter 457: Setting up the Backyard
Rina curled her lips seeing him act like a wooden log and decided to put the matter behind her and stood up. The three of them chatted idly for a bit before the others came back from outside.
Seeing the three of them standing there, they soon realized they were sparring and others felt their fighting intent soar as well.
They fought 1 on 1 against Orion first and all of them lost shortly after that. Elias, who wanted to beat up Orion, convinced others to gang up on him and they started to spar again with everyone against Orion.
Orion’s lips curled into a smile as he didn’t even bother changing into his Draconic form and beat down everyone with one spell after another and even revealed two new elements in front of them.
Wind and Water element spells, he mostly used water element spells to throw water balls at everyone’s faces while dodging attacks.
In a while, everyone was drenched in sweat and water as Orion had fun playing with them while others looked at him with annoyed eyes since none of them could do anything against him.
“Alright everyone, no need to make such faces. You will all get your chance to fight against me later. Maybe you can breakthrough to the 9th level and beat me up in one fell swoop?” He said with a chuckle and seeing everyone’s eyes becoming increasingly unkind, he took a step back while saying, “I will be heading back to my room to cultivate.”
And without waiting for others to reply, he ran back to his room since he really couldn’t do anything against Arya and the other girls if they decided to beat him up with words.
The others looked at each other and Emilia softly said, “He is becoming more monstrous. He wasn’t this strong during the ruin exploration.”
Her spear slightly trembled, an old lady’s voice echoed in her mind,
[He seems to have had quite a few life and death battles after leaving the ruin that day. I already told you, he’s one remarkable genius. As long as his potential is not exhausted, he can definitely become a Supreme Paragon, a figure on the same level as the old ancestor of your Kingdom who is sitting in the palace protecting it. And he might very well surpass that level.]
The others heard Emilia’s words and nodded, Elias chuckled and said, “It will be fun when others challenge him tomorrow. Why should only we suffer? The others should get a little beaten up as well.”
The others chatted for a while longer before everyone headed to their rooms to rest and cultivate.
The night peacefully passed as no demons attacked the city during the night. The morning soon arrived as Orion stepped out of his room feeling refreshed.
He walked towards the dining room while mumbling to himself, “This mansion is quite good, not as good as mine but still pretty good.”
After opening the door to the dining hall, he saw that no one had yet arrived. So he went towards the head chair on the table and sat down while circulating the Basic Mana Breathing Technique.
Soon, the others started arriving as Orion opened his eyes and stopped practicing the technique. After a while, everyone gathered and maids started to bring their food to the table.
While eating, Orion softly addressed everyone, “The students should start arriving in a few hours. Prepare yourself because it will be a long day, the others won’t let you have your positions so easily.”
Everyone nodded their heads seriously, they knew it wouldn’t be so easy. Especially some of the talented ones among the students who were nearly on the same level as Top 10 students.
Elias, who was eating a big piece of meat said, “Only Garron and Tavian and a few others are worth paying attention to. The others can basically be dealt with one hand.”
Orion chuckled, “Don’t underestimate others and lose face there, otherwise how will you look at Felira? There might be some who had hidden their strength before, so everyone should be careful.
The others nodded their heads and Arya said, “I have got some reports that a few students who were average during the start of the year have started to perform better and better. And a lot of older students have also started to improve quite a bit with time compared to the past.”
Hearing this, Orion inwardly thought, ‘Is this the golden age Grandpa was talking about? Is the world preparing its soldiers for a war against the demons? I wonder if there is any relation with demons attacking at this time and the golden age coming.’
Orion lightly shook his head, “There might be some late bloomers in our class. Anyways let’s finish food and head to the back to welcome everyone. Oh and get the maids to make food for everyone who will be coming, we need to retain them after all.”
Nyss nodded her head, “I already ordered it. It’s being prepared.”
Everyone soon finished eating their food and headed towards the back of the mansion to prepare to welcome the students.
It was a large open space hundreds of meters big with nothing at the center. Nyss had already cleared it for today’s gathering.
Orion looked at the high sun and seeing how intense the sun was and the ground was scorching with it.
He thought for a bit and took a step forward and lightly mumbled, [Forest’s Wrath.]
Dense vines began to sprout out from the corners of the vast field before directly rising in the sky for tens of meters before closing in and connecting with each other at the top.
And then one by one vines continued to sprout out of the ground and do the same.
Elias’s expression turned to slight shock, “How much mana does he have? A normal Tier 7 person would be exhausted to death forming a couple vines this long and thick.”
Kale nodded with a serious expression, “He has even more mana than Tier 9 cultivators. It’s simply monstrous.”
After a while, the vines stopped growing out as a huge dome with dense vines and leaves covered the top of the back field. But there were still enough spaces at the top for sunlight to come down so it was still bright inside without feeling hot.
Orion dusted his hands with a smile, his expression not even changing after forming hundreds of vines, “This should do it. Now this looks better and deserving of the elite gathering.”
Arya gently giggled hearing his words, “Only you would waste so much mana doing something like this. Others would simply just give up just seeing the sheer scale of the work.”
Orion didn’t think much of it since he had 100 times more mana than someone of his level. He feared no one if someone were to compare mana reserves with him.
His expression turned thoughtful as he said, “Now that I think about it, no one among us has the Earth Element right?”
The others looked at each other before Elias shrugged, “Who cares about that? I have Gravity and it’s far superior to Core elements.”
Orion turned to look at him with a half smile and said, “Oh? Why don’t you fight with Sylvia and let us see your Advanced Element dominate her Core Elements of Thunder and Wind? Should be pretty easy for you right? Mr genius?”
Elias’s lips twitched as he saw Sylvia placing a hand on her sword hilt, looking towards him with battle intent in her eyes, he inwardly cursed Orion, ‘Fuck bastard, who in their right mind would want to fight with that battle freak.’
He awkwardly coughed and asked with confusion in his voice, “Cough, forget that, anyways why do you want someone with Earth Element?”
Orion replied with a wise look on his face, “An Earth Element user would be a strategic resource for fighting against the demons on the battlefield. The Earth Element mages can change the terrain to our advantage against the demons. Of course if their level is high enough.
The others had a look of realization and nodded their heads in understanding, Emilia said with an agreeing look on her face, “An Earth Element user will definitely be able to help us a lot, but it depends if he has the necessary spells for that.”
“Well, let’s wait for others. Out of those hundreds of students, some are bound to have useful skills.” Orion said with a smile.
The group continued to chat among themselves while some of them marveled at the dome while inwardly thinking how Orion wasn’t even breathing hard after using so much mana.
And after a few hours, the students started to enter the estate one by one and came directly to the back of the mansion.
Each and every one of them had extraordinary bearings, far surpassing the local cultivators as every one of them was a genius.
But even then, their eyes widened in surprise seeing the huge dome made entirely of vines at the top of their heads.
