Chapter 289: The Relay Race Against ‘Destiny’! Part-1.
Jareth himself was not much of a positive person and could not give Rororon any words of comfort. He could only hear his pain and help him vent his frustration.

“That non-existent treasure really became a bane for your race… sigh…”

If the fairies had resisted, if the humans had worked with more patience, if there was someone strong enough to stop this, etc.—all these thoughts rang through Jareth’s mind, but eventually, he could only sigh in helplessness.

There’s no changing the past now; something that has already happened can’t be changed anymore. All they can do is ‘hope’ for a better tomorrow, which might not even come.

As if noticing Jareth’s conflicted emotions, Rororon sighed and spoke.

*I am actually quite happy that I got to share this with someone… in fact, I kept resisting miasma until now because I didn’t want to die without anyone knowing about the truth of the fairy race’s destruction…*

*Sigh… I don’t know how you know about the spirit realm node detection device, but I don’t care about that… Fairies are already dead and done for; I don’t really care about the world anymore…*

*Elemental fairies might get born on this planet with the help of mana and elements but they will not be related to me anymore and I don’t want fairies to appear in this cruel world anymore…*

*So, I will just tell you about it… it’s in fact located in the basement of that tower…*

The spirit realm node detection device is the item that Jareth came here looking for; that device’s basic function is detecting the nodes that connect to the spirit realm in a certain area.

The entire space outside the planet is covered in the sea of miasma, and Jareth can’t open a wormhole through that, or he will have to face tremendous interference.

Thus, he decided to use the spirit realm as the medium to open his wormhole and go through it, as that was a much safer option.

But this device can also be used to find nodes of the spirit realm, pockets where everything is empty.

For example, the city of Levina is located in a small separate pocket of the spirit realm, and if people like the members of the false dome cult find it, they can establish their base in this kind of place.

This will make their base near invulnerable to any external attacks, as no one will be able to enter or find their base unless they also have a similar node detection device.

*The device can be used to find a miasma-infected node of the spirit realm and open a path to the world inside the false dome barrier; that way, the miasma will start flowing inside endlessly…*

*Due to this, we fairies never talked about the existence of that device to anyone; in fact not even the fairies knew about it only I did…*

Rororon already knew how bad humans were, and that’s why he never let this information slip out.

Humans conquered the entire tower and conquered all of its floors, but they never knew that a basement also existed in this tower.

Now that the fairy race is already dead, Rororon does not care whether the world gets destroyed or not.

“Well, it’s not like I want to destroy the world; instead, I have been working on saving it…”

*Yeah, I know that. I noticed you seal that golden nail… with how much effort you put in that seal, I can understand that you are not a bad person who wants the destruction of this world…*

Jareth smiled a bit at that compliment and finally reached the base of the giant tower piercing the clouds in the sky.

“Thankfully I don’t have to climb it all… I have already gone through enough challenges and I do not want to go through any more than absolutely necessary…”

As the upper floors of the tower have long been conquered and there’s nothing fascinating left there to see, Jareth didn’t care about them and went for his objective without any delay.

He passed through the broken door and entered the tower.

The base floor was quite spacious from inside, and it was mostly empty; there was a spiraling staircase leading upwards, and there were various carvings engraved on the inner walls of the tower.

“This place must have been quite majestic in it’s prime…”

*Of course, it was… it was very beautiful as everything here was covered in gold and silver; it was all stripped away by the humans though…*

*Forget that. You see that statue in the center? Go and chant the password in front of it, which is…*

Jareth nodded his head and walked over to the giant statue of a sword that looked similar to Zion’s sword, ‘Astra.’

He used mana to enchant his voice before saying in a solemn tone,

{According to the Arrangements of the ‘Origin,’ I seek the truth of this world!}

As if an ancient mechanism had activated, the entire tower started to rumble and tremble, the statue in front of Jareth slowly descended down, and a staircase appeared in the ground.

Until that statue moved, Jareth could not sense the presence of any staircase or hidden area beneath this tower.

‘Anti-mana detection magic of highest caliber…’

It’s possible to enchant a building or some place that you want to hide with magic that can resist a person’s mana detection.

This place is enchanted with mana detection resistance so powerful that even Jareth’s mana detection wasn’t working on it.

Which means that this enchantment is way too overpowered, and if not for the fact that Jareth knew about it beforehand, he might not have been able to find it.

‘Thankfully I found this little fellow while making my way here; if I came alone, I would have never found the device that I needed…’

Jareth only knew that the device could be found here, but he didn’t know its exact location or the password, as he didn’t watch the video about this area.

If he hadn’t met Rororon, he might have had to return empty-handed.

‘From the moment I met this little fellow, I feel as if I have become luckier for some reason…’

Without wasting any more time, Jareth descended down the stairs.

He didn’t even need to use a glowing mana orb, as the underground area was already bright because there were mana stone-powered lamps embedded in the ceiling.

Jareth walked down the stairs and reached a small hidden room.

It wasn’t too big to be called a hall and wasn’t even a proper basement either; it was just a small hidden room, and there was only one thing inside it.

There was a massive glass container placed in the middle upon a stone pedestal, and inside it was a black square-like artifact floating mid-air.

Golden bolts of lightning danced around the floating artifact from time to time, and standing near it, Jareth felt a weird sensation.

His intuition flared up, and he could instinctively feel that something major was about to happen, something that would change everything.

But Jareth could not understand where that feeling was coming from; he walked over to the artifact with a confused look.
