Chapter 286: In The Miracle City, Levina. Part-1.
[Basic Magic: Telekinesis!]
Jareth waved his arm and ripped apart all the mana stones embedded in the ceiling, which he hadn’t taken when he was taking the miasma-resistant materials.
The mana stones floated in the air and were crushed with tremendous force; the mana inside them was released and forcefully pushed into the artifact floating in midair.
As more and more mana was poured into it, the artifact started to spin faster and faster, and it lit up with bluish light.
*hmmmm!*
With a burst of light, the artifact spun so fast that it created a glowing circle of light with its bluish glow, and the empty space inside it started to vibrate and fluctuate.
*The main path to the miracle city used to be a gigantic portal and a massive staircase made of light was hanging out of it… but it was destroyed long ago…*
*This is the first time I am seeing this alternate hidden path… this artifact is so powerful, it’s puncturing a hole in the space-time fabric and is creating a bridge to the spirit realm using this node located here…*
To enter the spirit realm, you need to find a weak point or a node that you can penetrate and get inside.
This artifact is stationed here because a node exists in this place, and the artifact will only work here.
Even if Jareth takes it away with him, it will be useless junk with no function, unless Jareth finds another node somewhere else, which is even more difficult than finding a needle in a vast ocean.
*SHUMMMMMM!* *SHATTER!!* *BREAK!!*
An eerie voice of something shattering rang out in the underground hall as the space-time fabric was punctured and a hole was created right through it by the powerful artifact.
‘This artifact has a similar function as my worm-hole device… I can use it as a reference…’
Although this artifact was much weaker compared to what Jareth needed to bypass the sea of miasma, it was still a feasible reference point.
It’s capable of making a small bridge between this planet and the spirit realm, which proves that this artifact has the basic ability to work even when the place is restricted by the sea of miasma.
‘In fact, the existence of this artifact has proved a major point and one of my troubles have been extinguished…’
Jareth was originally worried that perhaps it was impossible to bypass the restriction placed by the sea of miasma.
But this device has proved that it’s possible to bypass this restriction if you are using the spirit realm as a medium.
‘The Sea of Miasma exists inside the ‘space-time fabric.’ If you puncture right through the space-time fabric, it’s possible to bypass it. this is a new discovery…’
‘If I was a scientist, this discovery alone would have been enough to guarantee me a n*bel prize in the field of miasma research…’
Jareth could only shake his head at this matter, as he knew that there was no way he would tell anyone about this matter right now.
Even if someone knew, it was pointless, as there’s no one on this planet strong enough to shatter the space-time fabric and directly make their way out of the sea of miasma using their own power.
That’s something only powerful beings can do.
‘In fact, even those demon gods can’t do that either as they would have already made their way inside the false dome barrier by now if they could do this…’
Shattering the space-time fabric for a brief moment and making a stable pathway through it are two completely different things.
Perhaps those beings at the level of those demon gods can create a short time gap in the space-time fabric, but they likely can’t create a stable path through it, or this world would have long been doomed.
‘This artifact has succeeded in doing this… which means this artifact is definitely not something that ordinary fairies could have made…’
While Jareth was thinking about various questions in his mind, the crack in the space-time fabric was widened, and a stable portal was created through it.
Jareth knew that there was no point in wasting time standing in a daze, as every second he wasted, the more energy the artifact would use up.
The consumption of this artifact was insane; it was so high that those mana stones were already more than half used up by now despite the fact that they were all high-grade mana stones.
‘Miracle City… here I come…’
Jareth flew inside the portal with a determined look on his face.
He had no knowledge whether this portal was safe or not, but he had no other choice; he couldn’t throw a camera inside and check the situation, as the contact would be cut off instantly if there was miasma on the other end.
He couldn’t rely on anything and had to take that gamble of life and death.
If the portal ended up teleporting him inside the sea of miasma, he might as well end up dying on the spot, which would be a really miserable way to die.
‘Oh, God of Professional Thieves! Bless me with luck! Help me succeed in my quest to steal an item from the miracle city!’
The moment Jareth stepped inside the portal, his guesses were confirmed; the insides of the portal were powerful spatial fluctuations, and just moving forward was causing him to get hit by them over and over.
Jareth’s body felt as if it was weightless; his mana shield faced constant powerful bombardment of spatial fluctuations and increased his mana consumption tremendously.
Sometimes he felt as if he was falling down, sometimes he was falling up, and sometimes sideways, which was very weird, and it made him feel nauseous.
The portal was not stable in the truest sense; it was not safe either. It was almost like a pathway made in a hurry by someone.
There were unstable holes in this bridge, and getting caught in them would have caused Jareth to be hit with spatial fluctuations so powerful that he might get blown away out of this portal and fall in some unknown location.
It was a horrendous experience; if Jareth did not have a mana singularity and a powerful mana shield, he would have died at least a hundred times just going through this unstable portal.
‘Even I am facing such difficulty; it’s impossible to send any artifact or drone or something else to scout the area ahead…’
Jareth could only grit his teeth and endure through the entire ordeal; he used his mana shield like a ball and used it to bounce inside the narrow portal.
Using the bounce and the direction, he dodged those unstable holes.
After a grueling struggle of half an hour, Jareth barely managed to survive as he finally exited the portal and was thrown out from a spatial crack, which seemed to be very unstable.
Jareth barely managed to land on his feet and succeeded in preserving his dignity.
If he had fallen, his face would have kissed the ground, and that would have been quite insulting for his image. (No Fade and Allen were harmed in the making of this insult…)
Jareth glanced at the spatial crack and noticed that the crack was closing slowly at a barely noticeable speed.
‘Hmm, I see, so I have time limit; I must explore the city and make my way back before this gap becomes too small for me to fit inside it…’
‘If it closes, I will be left stranded here forever… Sigh, that’s another burden placed on my shoulders now… I hate time-based events…’
