Chapter 283: An Invincible Seal!
Luche had absolute confidence in her strength; she knew that most people would never be able to bypass her and reach the golden nail as long as she was there.
In the game, you can’t walk out of bounds and enter the temple from the opposite direction to directly bypass the boss area.
It’s possible to do such a thing in reality, but Luche is not a mindless boss like in the game; she can easily sense your presence from kilometers away with her pseudo grade-0 capabilities.
If not for the suppression of miasma, she would have already ascended to grade-0 right after Zion.
The main reason why she just put some random stones to hide the path to the golden nail was also her confidence in herself that no one would be able to reach it unless they defeated her.
Zion likely told Luche about the importance of these golden nails, and even though she’s a maniac and has a very unstable personality, she’s not someone who wants the world to get destroyed either.
Zion is a hero that has always tried to protect the golden nails. Luche has no such responsibility, but she protects this golden nail here because it just happens to be located near the main entrance of the Miracle City.
Jareth waved his arm and dug out all the rubble and dust blocking the stairs and made himself enough space to properly walk in.
Then he took a deep breath and descended down the stairs with the hope of seeing the golden nail in good condition.
With each step, his heartbeat rose a little bit as he felt many worries and thoughts appear in his mind.
*Step* *Step*
The noise of his footsteps rang out in the underground space and added more tension to the already tense environment.
Without wasting time, Jareth made his way through the dark and dim corridor and reached the giant hall located underground, where the golden nail was placed in the center.
“Thankfully, this one is still intact!”
Jareth was greeted with a sight that made him genuinely happy for the first time in a long while.
Ever since Jareth found out about the truth of the world, the sword called the ‘sea of miasma’ has been constantly hanging above his head, threatening to finish him any time in the future.
Jareth has been constantly trying to stabilize the false dome barrier by protecting the golden nails, but he’s already failed twice.
His mistakes and worries kept piling on for a long time as stress kept increasing tremendously.
For the first time, he’s finally managed to succeed.
Jareth sighed in relief at the sight of that intact golden nail and walked over to it with a rare smile on his usually cold face.
“There are some minor cracks and damages, but it’s overall still in good condition… I guess the minor damage happened because of the increased burden…”
The burden of keeping the massive false dome barrier working is extremely high, and originally it was distributed among several golden nails, but due to some of them being shattered, the burden on the other nails has increased.
In other words, due to this increased burden, the rest of the nails are under more stress and have started to weaken more rapidly compared to before.
It’s already been thousands of years since the creation of these nails, and each one of them has already corroded away to varying degrees.
And there’s no way to stop this continuous corrosion, as the pressure from the sea of miasma is never going to go away.
In other words, all humans can do is just slow down this corrosion rate, but due to the increased burden, even this corrosion rate has increased tremendously.
‘No wonder that monstrous being has started to show sign of breaking out of the seal… if it’s something that’s being sealed due to the effects of the golden nail…’
‘Then even minor damage to the golden nail will help it tremendously…’
Jareth finally figured out why that disfigured organism seemed to be in the state that it was.
If it wasn’t in that confined and sealed state, it likely wouldn’t have let Jareth leave and would have tried to attack him with its best efforts.
But Jareth managed to break free and made it out of that area without much damage because the being was mostly in a sealed state and there was only a little bit of its power projecting outside.
‘To be able to completely brainwash an entire tribe of pseudo grade-1 wyverns with just a bit of its power… this sealed existence is really way too horrific and powerful…’
Currently Jareth’s main strength is that he’s strong physically and in terms of magic too, but he isn’t specifically skilled in any mind-related techniques or arts.
In fact, there were a very small number of monsters and techniques in the game that had anything to do with mind power.
That’s why Jareth hadn’t gotten any decisive skills that could help him deal with a battle of that type.
He can still fight people like Zion and Konda, but that disfigured organism seemed to only be capable of fighting on the battleground called the mind, soul, and sea of consciousness.
‘It would be better if that thing remains sealed till I leave and once I leave, I wouldn’t have to care about it getting out, as that would be else’s headache afterwards…’
Jareth wasn’t interested in being a hero and helping take the risk of fighting an unknown organism, which he had no information about.
The main reason why Jareth took the risk of fighting Konda and Zion was because he knew about them a lot from the very beginning.
He knew their skills and powers even before fighting them and had an advantage in this matter.
Zion’s several skills highly depend on using the light element’s speed to insta-kill opponents, but they only work on opponents who are fighting him for the first time or don’t know about his fighting style.
Jareth easily managed to block most of those attacks, as he already knew about them, which even baffled Zion internally.
‘Let’s not waste time and seal it!’
Jareth stopped thinking too much and stopped his brain from going off topic; he raised his hand and summoned the book of amplification.
[Ding! You have used the amplification skill; your next magic will be 80% stronger!]
[Ding! Are you sure you want to use the ‘Attack Enhancement Card (Advance)’?]
[Yes or No]
‘Yes’
[Ding! You have used an attack enhancement card (advanced)!]
[Your next attack will be 500 times stronger!]
Jareth had already made enough preparations for this exact moment; he was prepared to go all out in this matter.
[Grade-1 Fire Magic: Forbidden Type: Seal of the dead phoenix!]
Jareth used his ‘mana singularity’ at maximum output; he put nearly his entire mana into that spell and even used several mana elemental stones of the fire type to feed the spell enough elementals.
The power of that spell was so overwhelming that the entire tectonic plate of the continent trembled for a second from its might.
A magic circle appeared big enough to completely cover the entire floor of the giant hall on the ground, and then the next magic circle was so big that it covered the entire area of the broken temple.
The third circle was so big that it covered the entire wide plain; the fourth magic circle was so big that Jareth had to put it on the sky, and it covered the entire sky.
If someone was standing outside the temple and observing everything around them, they would have seen the entire heavens and earth covered in the power of a single magic circle.
Everywhere you look, only the magic circuits of a massive magic circle would appear in front of you, which seemed to extend till the horizon.
Miasma was forcefully pushed away in the entire area for a brief moment, and many strong people in the entire world felt a subtle change in the flow of mana of the world.
It was as if the world was rejoicing, as if the world was happy, and the mana was dancing in joy that someone was helping it protect the planet.
Many strong beings across the globe glanced in the direction of the ‘wailing hills’ at that moment with varying emotions and felt the subtle change in the flow of mana.
Some were confused, some were surprised, and some were solemn.
But one thing was for sure: what Jareth was doing today would go down in history and will be recorded by the next generations as a great deed of a misunderstood hero!
Jareth didn’t realize how big of a stir he had created in the world with his magic, as he was too focused on the spell at the moment.
He used his entire might on that spell, and he used 100 percent of his capabilities to cast the powerful sealing barrier with the utmost precision possible.
‘Break the golden nail? I dare you to do it! I want you to try!’
