Chapter 281: Mysteries of the Forgotten Past.
After crossing the wailing souls’ dancing ground, Jareth finally reached the location he was aiming for since the start.

*Step!*

He landed on the solid stone ground and glanced at the gigantic ruin with his usual cold look on his face.

*Ah… the temple of the fairies… it’s been so long since I came here… it’s been so long, since my spirit has felt this clear…*

*The memories of the past are all rushing in my head like a clear stream now…*

The massive temple was broken beyond recognition; there were marks of battle, and there were lingering souls and evil spirits wandering around everywhere.

But oddly, there was no miasmic corrosion in this one place.

Jareth had flown for several hours to finally arrive here; everywhere around the temple was a vast open plain thoroughly corroded by miasma and corruption.

A massive river filled with miasmic water was running across the plain, and in the middle of it all stood this broken ruin of a long-destroyed temple.

Jareth glanced at a broken stone fallen on the side of the main entrance and noticed something carved on it written in ancient text.

He had no idea what those characters were and what that language was, but he knew the meaning, as he had read about it in the game.

…

{To the ‘Creator,’ To the ‘World,’ and the ‘Origin,’ we devote the ‘Banner of Faith.’}

{To the Maiden of Salvation, to the ‘demigod,’ Astra, we devote our trust.}

{To the Chosen Son of Heavens, to the ‘King,’ Allen Von Reinhart, we devote our loyalty.}

{The endless pursuit of ‘Nature’ shall continue!}

…

When playing the game, Jareth had no idea who these names referred to and what this ‘Banner of Faith’ was.

He just thought that this must be some kind of hidden endgame item.

But the odd thing was, there was no mention of these characters and this item anywhere else.

No player managed to find anything related to them in the history of this world, and there was no such item ever found with the name of the ‘Banner of Faith.’

There was only one conclusion to this matter, and that was that the fairy race had a ‘faith,’ and they believed in ‘World’ and ‘Nature,’ which was quite similar to the elves.

But elves believed more in the ‘World Tree’ than the world itself, while the fairies believed more in the ‘world’ and had no mention of the ‘World Tree’ in their faith.

The fairies were a race of intelligent beings who were extremely adept at healing magic and many kinds of elemental magic.

‘After reading about the ‘First King Strar U’lbyatre,’ I finally can understand who that ‘Golden King’ was…’

‘My instincts tell me that the so called ‘Golden King’ must be this person who’s given the title of ‘King’ here name Allen Von Reinhart…’

In the game, many players connected this name to the protagonist, Allen Storm Walker, who’s the main character of this game world.

Many players came to the conclusion that the protagonist had some relation with this ‘Chosen Son of Heavens,’ as he also had the exact same name as the ‘chosen one’ of this planet too.

Which was way too suspicious to be considered just a coincidence in the game world.

But now that Jareth has read about the history of this world and has learned many hidden truths, he’s made his own conclusions.

‘The current Allen likely has nothing to do with this legendary character who has the same name…’

‘But I still do not understand many other things… If this person was the ‘Son of Heavens,’ then who’s the current Allen, and what’s with Zion then? What about Mark?’

Jareth was genuinely confused by all these questions.

There can’t possibly be so many so-called ‘chosen ones’ existing everywhere.

Being that those blessed with tremendous luck and power are only born once in a long time, and even their birth is a miracle in itself, as they are born carrying the destiny of the entire world on their shoulders.

There’s no way that several of them can exist at the same time.

Jareth walked over to that giant stone and placed his hand on it while thinking to himself.

‘Talking about Zion, his sword, the ‘Sword of Salvation,’ is named ‘Astra’ too… and here ‘Astra’ is stated as the name of a ‘demigod’…’

‘A demi-god is likely a being equal to grade-0… almost at the level of those false demon gods wandering outside the false dome barrier…’

Jareth has spent quite a lot of time thinking about many things, and even he knows that those so-called demon gods that are threatening this world are definitely not weak, but they aren’t strong either.

If the Golden King, King Allen’s barrier, has been keeping them at bay for such a long time, it means that they aren’t true godly beings, as true gods should be much stronger than a mere ‘King’ title holder.

In other words, those demon gods are also just at the ‘demigod’ realm, which is the realm of grade-0 beings.

The ‘law’ of ‘miasma’ stops people from reaching that level here; otherwise, Zion could have reached that level by now.

‘I don’t know what happened to this golden king and why he left just a short message and a barrier behind and didn’t come back again…’

‘But there’s definitely something bad going on with him; otherwise, he wouldn’t have ditched this entire planet full of people to just die a slow death like this…’

‘He likely got caught in some trouble and couldn’t make it back…’

Jareth could only shake his head and sigh, as he had no idea where to get all the answers he wanted; he had no idea what to make of this text.

‘The realm of demi-gods, the presence of several suspected protagonists, my own transmigration, the banner of faith, the disappearance of King Allen and the devotion of the fairies trust in Astra…’

‘There are many questions I need answers for…’

While shaking his head, Jareth stopped caressing the giant stone carved with strange symbols and walked inside the broken ruins of the temple.

There were golden pieces of pillars of the temple scattered everywhere; even the main entrance pathway was broken beyond recognition, and Jareth had to float in some places to cross the rubble.

Due to the miasma in the air, nothing could grow in this place, and thus the temple was devoid of wild plants or insects; otherwise, it would have been completely buried in them by now.

‘This place is likely several millennia old; I wonder when the fairies made it…’

All broken pillars had marks on them as if they were hit by various types of weapons, and there were broken, rusted weapons scattered everywhere in the entire temple.

Jareth walked further in and arrived at a massive open prayer ground made up of golden and silver stones, but most of it was badly damaged.

Jareth stood on that prayer stage and glanced around him with a solemn look on his face.

‘The boss area looks more solemn and intimidating in reality compared to the game…’

Yes, this is the dedicated boss area for ‘Luche,’ one of the three strongest bosses in this game.

If it was in the game, you would encounter Luche sitting in the middle of this prayer ground meditating since time unknown.
