Chapter 284: A Little Bit Of This… And A Little Bit Of That…
This blast was easily more powerful than the other one in Rania’s lab.

Terisha closed her eyes… she could still remember Rania… They weren’t particularly close but that was to Rania, to Terisha, Rania was one of the most precious people in the world, she had a crush on the three eyed demon and she wasn’t ashamed of it.

She had been joyful and today, she was hurt… Rania had wanted to live…

But now, She was gone… killed by the human standing before her.

‘I can’t die until I kill him,’ Terisha thought, biting down hard on her lips as the fire consumed her body.

The inferno raged all around her, burning through the metal floor and swallowing the collapsed lab in molten heat.

Her skin cracked and peeled and her muscles burned up… Despite that, she couldn’t stop glaring at the man.

Azel stood calmly within a translucent barrier of light, his body and that of his comrades were untouched by the flames that were devouring her alive.

‘I must kill him…’

She took a step forward.

One of the limbs protruding from her head ignited completely, burning away in a bright flare.

The pain was unbearable like fire eating her nerves but she ignored it.

Another step followed… slower this time, but equally as determined.

Azel raised an eyebrow.

He could see her dragging herself toward him.

Even through the smoke, her crazed grin was visible… her teeth were completely blackened, and her flesh was completely charred but he could see the madness in her remaining eye.

‘You’re already focusing everything on a defensive spell,’ she thought, staggering forward again.

Every step melted more of her skin, but she didn’t care. ‘You can’t use a powerful attacking spell like that while defending against such strong flames. You’re all sitting ducks until I reach you.’

Her grin widened as her left arm caught fire, turning into a blackened stump.

Then she saw it… the light.

An unmistakable glow in Azel’s left hand. The holy energy crackled to life, twisting and spiraling into form.

Her eyes widened.

‘Fuc—’

Azel raised his arm, and a spear of pure light shot forward. The holy lance pierced through the flames, crossing the distance between them faster than she could react.

It struck her straight through the stomach, bursting out her back in a flash of golden radiance.

Her scream was silent… her lungs had already burned away.

The impact forced her to her knees, black blood dripping from the wound.

Her charred fingers trembled as they reached to touch the hole in her abdomen.

“Bastard…” she croaked.

Azel’s expression didn’t change.

Around him, several more lances began forming, spinning slowly like orbiting stars.

Terisha’s eyes widened further.

She could barely comprehend it… a man maintaining a defensive barrier strong enough to repel such strong fire, while still forming multiple holy attacks simultaneously.

Was he a Saint or something?

‘He can… use both at once?’ she thought, disbelief filling her mind.

The lances struck before she could finish her thought.

Dozens of them rained down from every direction, stabbing through her arms, chest, shoulders, and legs.

Each hit left a flash of light, burning her body from the inside out. Her limbs jerked with each impact, her eyes rolling back as the world began to fade.

‘I… hate humans…’

That was her last thought before the light faded from her eyes.

Her body fell forward, hitting the metal ground with a dull thud. The flames beginning to consume her.

Erblim watched the scene, blinking while sitting on Azel’s shoulder.

“Master really is ruthless,” he muttered.

He didn’t mean it as an insult… it was simply a fact. These people had attacked first, and Azel had only responded.

It was the same in the Familiar Realm, you killed or you died.

That was the rule.

“Alright,” he said simply, “let’s go. I think there are still two major ones left, right?”

Erblim straightened his wings. “Yes, Master. I can still sense the two powerful presences. One feels like Ravik, but… more refined.”

“Refined?” Azel echoed, raising an eyebrow.

Erblim closed his eyes, his mana sense expanding through the ruined base. “One of them has already left the underground sector. His energy disappeared for a moment and reappeared back in town. The other—”

He froze.

“The other is coming straight for us!”

Azel barely had time to react before the air itself seemed to explode.

A shockwave tore through the room, extinguishing every lingering flame. The holy barrier around him cracked instantly, the translucent light splintering like glass.

And then something slammed into him.

A fist… which was massive and unbelievably fast.

The punch connected directly with Azel’s face, launching him backward at impossible speed.

His body tore through the air, slamming into the far wall with a violent crash that sent cracks spiderwebbing through the reinforced metal.

The impact echoed through the ruined chamber like thunder.

“Master!” Erblim shouted, flapping his wings.

He turned sharply to face the attacker and froze.

The figure standing was tall and broad, with its muscles layered and rippling unnaturally beneath torn skin.

From the outside, it looked like a man, but what Erblim could see… It told a different story.

It wasn’t just human.

It wasn’t just werewolf.

Erblim’s sharp eyes widened as he focused.

“Monster blood… human blood… and werewolf blood?”

The creature’s eyes glowed faintly gold with slitted pupils, and sharp claws extended from its fingers.

Steam rose from its body like heat mist.

A hybrid.

A monstrosity of all three races fused together.

Ravik’s expression darkened.

“That’s not one of us. That thing… Someone made it.”

Azel pulled himself free from the dented wall, groaning.

“Fuck… that hurt.” He rubbed his jaw, cracking his neck. It wasn’t that easy to tank the attack but not many things could harm you if you increased your bone density to the max.

The creature crouched low with it’s claws digging into the ground. It’s slit-like eyes were fixed on all three of them, as if taking them in as threats.

Azel tilted his head slightly. “Now what exactly are you supposed to be?”
