Chapter 793: Meeting Cultivators
[Also, Master, Zeus is still in your Shadow Space. Normally, the spell you used on him should have frozen him for at least a million years, but…]
“This place is suppressing all abilities, so the seal is weakened and will break soon?”
[Yes, he will wake up within a day.]
[You should throw him out before he goes on a rampage.]
“It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.”
[Master, this is a place where one can become a Realm Divinity God. Zeus always had that frightening talent to copy anyone’s technique.]
[There is a chance he can become a Realm Divinity God easily, and then… you know he will try to kill you.]
[So our best option is to ditch him here.]
Neo blinked and stared at the air in front of him.
“You do know he’s my uncle, right?”
[He tried to kill you.]
“….”
Neo had nothing to say for a moment.
He sighed and shifted his grip on the bear’s leg.
“Well, we’re family in the end. I’ll try to talk to him.”
He knew Persephone—his mother—would be heartbroken if he killed her brother.
Thinking of her made Neo look inside his Cosmos.
Void had used a technique that allowed all fragments of his mother to become versions of her.
So there was a small child version.
A moody teenage version.
A mature lady version.
And many more.
There were seventeen of them in total.
And…
“She’s happy.”
Neo smiled a little as he watched the scenes inside the Cosmos.
Every version looked different, but they shared memories, so they all behaved with the same energy.
Heavenly Record had already told them that Neo was close to finding a way to fuse them together.
[Master, I think she’s happier about being able to spend time with Hades than having all her fragments.]
That was true.
The curse that destroyed their lives in their original universe didn’t function inside Neo’s Cosmos.
His family could stay together without tragedy.
And that included his brother.
Neo had placed his brother’s Time Strand into the Cosmos.
Before losing his energy, he had reincarnated his brother, tied him to the Eternal Transcendence Path, and given him techniques and strength.
Ekravion, the demon who stole his brother’s future strength, fed only on Paths that belonged to the original Elemental Cosmos.
Since Eternal Transcendence Path was new and independent, Ekravion couldn’t drain it.
Of course, if his brother ever summoned Ekravion again, Ekravion could start feeding on Neo’s Path that was connected to his brother, and Neo wouldn’t be able to restore it.
But for now, it was fine.
It meant his family was finally together.
Neo wasn’t there.
But he was happy just seeing the smile on the faces of his family.
“Well, Mother needs to tone it down a bit…”
He let out a dry smile.
One version of her was hovering around Henry, pampering him so much that the he had red-ears from embarrassment.
Two other versions were walking with various Firmaments.
Another version was with Morrigan for something called “bridal training.”
Neo rubbed his forehead.
Morrigan had locked herself away after losing Neo’s ninth Eon body. She sulked for days until his mother talked to her.
One thing led to another, and now Morrigan was being given bridal lessons by Persephone.
Neo could only sigh.
He shifted his attention to the other versions.
Most of them were with Hades.
All of them wanted attention.
They interrupted him while he worked with the souls of the dead. They poked him, dragged him around, asked him questions, and complained whenever he focused on a different version.
When Hades gave one of her attention, the other complained he was neglecting them.
“All versions share the memory, and she still complains like this.”
Neo was truly defeated by this sight.
Even more surprising was Hades.
Instead of getting annoyed, he treated her exactly the way she wanted. He always gave her attention, no matter how unreasonable she behaved.
Neo continued watching.
His family laughing.
Talking.
Living.
Happy.
It made him smile again.
“Should I talk to them?”
He paused.
After thinking for a moment, he shook his head.
“I’ll do it later. We’ll have plenty of time in the future.”
Neo continued walking and dragging the bear with him.
One thing that reassured him was that the Loan didn’t affect the Cosmos. Energy still existed there. It flowed normally.
However, whenever Neo tried to touch or use that energy, it vanished instantly.
So he couldn’t rely on it.
But at least his Cosmos wasn’t dying. That was enough.
He stepped out of the trees and into the open area surrounding the village.
The place was poor and worn-out, but peaceful.
There were no walls, so he simply walked inside.
The villagers were quiet for some reason. The smell of smoke drifted from a few houses. Most roofs looked old and patched, and the pathways were narrow.
Neo kept dragging the massive bear behind him.
As he entered the center of the village, he noticed three people standing a short distance away.
They wore white ancient robes and looked young.
A strange feeling rose in Neo’s chest the moment he looked at them.
He instantly understood who they were.
‘They are Heavenbreaker… No, not Heavenbreaker. They’re cultivators from this world.’
‘The two on the sides look like Half-Step. The one in the middle is First Step.’
His Intent Mastery let him judge their ranks with a single glance.
Neo looked at the rest of the village.
Everyone in the village was kneeling before the three men.
One of the robed men was holding the little girl. She was crying loudly, her whole body trembling in fear.
Her brother, the boy, lay unconscious in the dirt with a bruise on his head.
Everyone turned toward Neo as soon as he appeared.
The three cultivators looked at the bear he dragged and exchanged surprised glances.
“He killed the Guardian Beast?” one of them muttered.
Neo ignored their voices.
He dropped the bear corpse on the ground and walked toward the unconscious boy. The bruise on the child’s head was swollen and fresh, as if he had been hit hard.
Neo knelt and checked the boy’s nerves. After confirming that he was alive, he lifted his gaze toward the little girl still crying in the man’s grip.
“Uncle, help us! Waah, waah!”
“I will. Just give me a moment.”
He picked up the boy and carried him back to his hut. He laid him gently on a straw bed inside.
Then Neo stepped out again.
The three white-robed men were now holding swords.
Neo looked at their swords, then at their faces, and finally at the crying girl they held.
“Can you tell me what is happening?”
“They are here to take the sacrifice, waaah—”
The First Step cultivator covered her mouth with his hand and looked at Neo with a smooth smile.
“I apologize for interrupting your conversation. But may we know who you are? This area is Heavenly Sect’s Breeding Farm. You have stepped onto our property. And you also killed the Guardian Beast that protects the perimeter.”
“Breeding farm…?” Neo repeated.
The two Half-Step cultivators kept staring at him with caution. The First Step man continued speaking, his smile calm and practiced.
