Chapter 792: Perhaps… I’m Not As Weak As I Thought?
Neo moved toward the jungle.
He kept a steady pace as he crossed the first line of trees. The air felt dry and heavy, but he didn’t stop.
Finding a bear in such a huge forest would normally take hours.
His senses were limited, and his vision range was even worse right now.
But he had a solution.
“Heavenly Records, go and scout the surroundings.”
[Yes, Master.]
Countless tiny Heavenly Records slipped away from him like grains of invisible dust.
They were always around him, invisible.
They could function without energy, at least for basic communication.
So they scattered through the forest in every direction.
It didn’t take long.
[Master, I will be guiding your path.]
Neo’s vision shifted as the Heavenly Records enlarged and changed shape.
Arrows appeared in front of him, clear and bright, pointing toward a single direction.
“Good. Lead the way.”
He dashed forward.
Branches cracked as he moved. Leaves fluttered behind him. He pushed his speed a little higher and felt the air break around him.
“Activate Life Flame Ignition.”
[Master, you barely have a Life Flame left. Please don’t waste it here. The monster is strong, but you can handle it with your physical strength.]
“Just do as I say.”
[…Understood, Master.]
He heard the Heavenly Record sigh. It wasn’t even trying to hide it anymore.
His Life Flame ignited.
So did his Consciousness.
Pain hit him instantly. It crawled across his bones and squeezed his chest.
Neo staggered for a moment but forced himself to keep running. His feet dug into the dirt, and he straightened up again.
There was hardly any usable energy inside him.
Almost none.
He closed his eyes for a second and muttered, “So my techniques really do use a lot less energy now.”
He felt sure of it.
The range of all his abilities was being suppressed by this world.
That meant the consumption dropped with it.
“So I can activate all of them even though I barely have any energy.”
It was strange but helpful.
He sped up again.
The trees opened ahead, and the bear finally came into view.
It stood like a dark mountain in the middle of the forest. Its body looked thick and solid, and every muscle bulged under its fur.
Even without sensing its energy properly, Neo could tell this thing could crush boulders with a swipe.
Its claws were long enough to pierce through metal, and its eyes looked unstable, like it was ready to charge the moment he stepped too close.
Neo took a slow breath.
“Let’s try something old.
“I couldn’t use many of my techniques after I grew stronger, because they stayed weak. But here, since everything is weak, I can use them.”
He slid his sword back into the sheath.
Then he stopped running.
Divine Swordsmanship: First Stance—
Before he could finish the thought, the bear roared.
A blinding light burst from its body.
A Technique Spirit rose behind it. The light twisted into a formless silhouette, but its Intent was clear. Neo understood what it signified instantly.
‘Warrior Spirit.’
The Technique Spirit sank into the bear again, strengthening its body.
Neo’s eyes widened.
“This thing is a Realm Divinity God!?”
It made no sense.
But there was no time to question anything. The Technique Spirit was only halfway fused. If it finished, Neo might have a hard time fighting it head-on in his current state.
Realm Divinity Gods could blow planets with their punches. Neo was nowhere near that level right now.
He acted before the bear could move.
He pulled in one breath and unsheathed his sword.
Issen
His figure blurred.
He reappeared behind the bear.
A heavy thud followed.
The bear’s head hit the ground and rolled forward. Blood spurted from the neck as the body toppled with a deep crash.
Neo let out a shaky exhale.
The Life Flame Ignition stopped on its own.
[Master, you have only enough Life Flame left for five more minutes of ignition.]
Neo ignored the warning for now.
He walked toward the corpse and stared at it.
“What was that?”
He nudged the bear’s side with the tip of his boot.
“A Realm Divinity God… How did a low-intelligence monster become a Realm Divinity God?”
There was something stranger.
Even the weakest Realm Divinity God could smash through planets.
Of course, Neo killed this monster before it could use its Technique Spirit.
Still, by no way, Neo should be able to cut through a Realm Divinity God’s skin with his current strength.
Unless…
“Unless it’s not just me being suppressed. Everyone else is being suppressed by this world too?”
It was the only explanation that made sense.
If every being was forced down to the same lower level of strength, then Neo’s skills, techniques, and experience would give him an advantage.
He crouched down and touched the bear’s fur. It was still warm.
Everyone was being suppressed, so even if Neo could not blow up planets, he was stronger than his enemies.
And thanks to the suppression reducing the range of all abilities, he needed quite less energy for his skills.
And that allowed him to use his abilities, even in his current state where he could barely use any energy.
“Doesn’t this mean I can fight perfectly fine in this place?”
He had a strange expression.
The True Blessed Lands was something even Supremes feared to enter because of how dangerous it was.
But due to Neo’s current circumstances, he had higher chances of defeating his opponents in this place than outside.
“Well, that’s only if I count the people from the Elemental Cosmos,” he said. “The real problem is the people created by the Hope Elemental World.”
He looked at the bear again.
If a simple forest bear reached the level of a Realm Divinity God, then the natives of this world were probably far worse.
Neo sighed.
He grabbed the bear by the leg and pulled.
The weight dragged behind him as he began walking back toward the village.
The bear was large enough that the villagers could cut it down for a feast. It would keep them fed for a while.
“Should I store this thing in Shadow Space? It’s hard to carry since it’s so big.”
[No, absolutely not.]
The Heavenly Record’s voice was sharp.
[Master, you have only five minutes of ignition left.]
Neo kept walking. “I know.”
[After this, you will die. And we don’t even know if you will reincarnate anymore.]
Neo didn’t respond.
[Master, do you understand? The person who placed the curse of reincarnation on you is now trying to kill you!]
“Eh, don’t mind it much.”
His voice was calm, almost casual.
Moraine wouldn’t have given him the Life Flame Ignition technique if the end result was permanent death.
Even though Neo didn’t know what exactly would happen once his Life Flame was used up, he trusted Moraine enough to believe he wouldn’t simply vanish.
The Heavenly Record didn’t seem convinced.
[Sigh, even if you won’t die. We have no idea what can happen.]
[Please, don’t try to die unless we have more information.]
“Mhm,” Neo nodded.
He stepped over a broken root and dragged the huge bear behind him.
