Chapter 388: EX 388. Crazy
Nikko’s Lord talent, [Throne of the Wild Tyrant], wasn’t something the world should have ever seen in the hands of a human.
It flooded her with so much primal energy that her body held the weight of two supreme authorities, the echoes of Coravora and Herbavora themselves.
She wasn’t Rank 9 yet, so the true supreme laws remained out of reach, but the authorities alone were overwhelming and more than enough to put her on equal ground with the lunatic, and more than enough to terrify anything born of corruption.
Her first authority ignited through her blood like a second heartbeat.
[Flesh Tyrant God Body], born from the supreme law, Coravora, wrapped her frame in a divine brutality.
Her body had already been extraordinary, but this authority shattered every limit left to break.
A god body couldn’t be destroyed by ordinary means, and even attacks meant to kill her outright, attacks that should have ended her, meant nothing as long as primal energy continued to flow within her.
And she had enough of it to drown a continent.
Anyone else might have wondered why the lunatic’s negation still hadn’t stripped that power away.
It had erased laws. It had turned the Dowager’s Infinity to dust.
But the answer pulsed inside Nikko like a quiet star.
Her second authority, [Herbal Emperor’s Blessing], the gift of Herbavora, sheltered her from everything meant to weaken or corrupt, poison, curses, mental erosion, and, crucially, any form of debuff.
The lunatic’s negation washed over her like a dead breeze. It simply couldn’t take hold.
Not on someone carrying the weight of a supreme authority.
The colossus loomed over her now, merged fully with the lunatic, its shadow drowning the ruined steps.
It stared at the still-living girl with a hint of disbelief etched into its monstrous features. Then, slowly, deliberately, it raised its foot again.
Nikko clicked her tongue.
“Tch. Is that all you know how to do?”
The foot rose higher, heavy enough to crush a city.
When it reached its peak, the colossus brought it down with another earth-rending crash.
But Nikko wasn’t there.
By the time the impact shook the broken steps, she was already in the air, a streak of white lightning and fur, a blur that carved through the void-like sky toward the creature’s head.
Wind ripped past her, flattening her wild fur against her transformed frame.
As she closed on the colossus’s massive head, she grinned.
“This is how you beat someone.”
[Flesh Tyrant God Body] surged through her in a tidal wave. Primal energy condensed around her fist, glowing so brightly the air rippled around her knuckles.
Then she struck.
Her uppercut detonated beneath the colossus’s chin, a hit so powerful that, despite how impossible it should’ve been, the enormous body lifted off the ground.
The creature flew, weightless for a brief, surreal heartbeat, before slamming into the rubble of the Steps of Liberation, landing flat on its monstrous back.
BOOM!
Nikko didn’t give it a moment.
She let gravity drag her down, twisted her body midair, and slammed a drop kick straight into the colossus’s gut.
The impact buried it deeper into the stone, the ancient steps further cracking like thin ice beneath its weight.
Standing on its stomach, white fire curling around her beast-like form, she jabbed a thumb at her own chest.
“That’s how you deliver an attack.”
****
Leon pumped his fist, the motion sharp enough to make his force domain ripple.
“Way to go, Nikki.”
The barrier still hummed around them, holding the others behind its translucent pressure.
The Dowager had already returned to her human form, her breath steady now, her eyes bright with something far more unrestrained than royal dignity.
Instead of being shaken by the squad’s lunatic member, she cupped her hand around her mouth and shouted,
“Crush its skull!”
Leon blinked at her. Just one beat. Then he nodded and called out,
“Yeah, Nikki, what she said!”
Adrian, Eden, Elizabeth, Malachi, and Racheal all turned to stare at the pair as if the real lunatics were standing inside the barrier with them.
Nikko was still up there trading blows with something that had just crushed her body into vapor twice, and somehow these two were cheering like it was a friendly spar in the backyard.
Adrian pinched the bridge of his nose.
“How did I become friends with these weirdos?”
Eden had no answer, only the same exhausted wonder.
Racheal crossed her arms, cheeks puffed in a pout.
‘Of all things, why did I play scissors…’
The excitement wasn’t limited to the force domain.
Far away in the Arman Empire, rulers stood before the viewing orb, the image trembling with every impact on the ruined steps.
They had been shocked at first, when Nikko’s body had blown apart like mist.
But once the girl stitched herself back together like death was a mild inconvenience, they chalked it up to her being a member of Leon’s squad.
Strange power was practically their uniform.
Their cheers rolled like thunder through the platform.
Yet two voices drowned the rest, Genevieve’s and Alexander’s.
Both siblings leaned so close to the orb their breath fogged the surface.
“Crush his b*lls too!” Genevieve roared.
Alexander, equally fired up, paused mid-cheer and glanced at his sister.
“I don’t think it has those.”
Genevieve deflated.
“Well that’s a bummer.”
“It sure is,” Alexander said, nodding like a man who shared her grief.
Elaine and Francis stood a little farther back, cheering for Nikko as wel, but watching those two was its own kind of spectacle.
Before the rulers could spiral any deeper into chaos, the orb flickered.
The image shifted. Dust peeled back from the cratered ruin where the colossus had fallen.
A silhouette climbed out of its massive chest cavity.
The lunatic.
It shook free of lingering debris, its red eyes locked on the girl hovering above the ruined steps.
Nikko crossed her arms, white fire curling around her beast-like form.
“You’re finally done hiding.”
The lunatic’s mouth cracked open, revealing those yellowed teeth.
“Y…o…u. C…raz…y.”
She raised a brow, but didn’t bother replying.
The colossus under them shuddered, its massive body dissolving into thick black shadow.
The darkness streamed toward the lunatic in a heavy tide.
Nikko stayed aloft, steady even as the last of the rubble dropped out from under her feet.
The shadow swallowed into the Lunatic’s body, layering over it. Its scrawny limbs thickened with new muscle.
Its once-frail white hair straightened into cleaner strands.
The black chains binding its limbs grew heavier, thicker, each one ending in a blade that glinted with corrupted hunger.
Its aura hardened, no longer fluctuating. No longer unstable.
This was its perfected form.
A shape above the peak.
When it spoke again, its voice cut through the void with unnerving clarity.
“Since you’re crazy… why don’t you join us?”
Leon’s cheering stopped instantly, and his eyes narrowed at the statement.
