Chapter 1078: Chapter 1078 Dragon
The three sisters sat in silence for a long moment — the kind of silence that said more than words ever could.

Finally, Chelsea stood up.

“Just promise me one thing,” she said. “Don’t let this destroy you. Or Marco. Or us.”

Karen nodded slowly. “I promise.”

But as her sisters left the room and the door closed behind them, Karen sat on her bed and stared into the wall.

The weight she thought she’d shed came creeping back, heavier than before.

***

Day after day, Karen’s sisters couldn’t stop hovering around her.

Every time she walked into the room, they exchanged knowing glances, barely containing their curiosity.

It was obvious they wanted to know everything about her and Ross. Chelsea and Lea, in particular, were relentless.

“So tell us, Karen,” Chelsea said one morning, leaning across the table with a mischievous grin.

“What exactly happens between you two every night? You’ve been glowing lately.”

Karen’s cheeks flushed instantly.

“There’s nothing to tell,” she said, trying to sound casual, though the faint smile tugging at her lips gave her away.

“Oh, please!” Lea giggled, tossing her hair back. “You’re practically floating when you walk! Don’t even try to hide it.”

Chelsea gasped suddenly, covering her mouth an hour later after they won in digging out the details from Karen.

“Wait—you said he lasted seven hours? Seven? That can’t be real! Is that even possible—or safe and healthy?”

Lea’s eyes widened dramatically. “And you said he’s how big? Fifteen inches? Karen, seriously, how are you even walking straight?”

Karen’s face turned bright red as her sisters burst out laughing.

She tried to swat at them, but the more embarrassed she became, the more they teased her.

“Okay, okay! That’s enough!” she finally said, though she couldn’t help but laugh too.

But of course, that wasn’t enough for her sisters.

They kept firing off questions—about his touch, his stamina, how he made her feel.

They giggled and whispered like schoolgirls sharing secrets, completely absorbed in their own amusement.

It was different back when Marco was in the picture.

Her sisters never bothered to ask about him because they knew nothing serious had ever happened between the two.

Marco had not fucked their sister Karen.

But Ross—Ross was a different story altogether. He had taken all of Karen’s bases and more.

The home runs that he did were countless and explosive indeed.

By the end of the evening, Karen was exhausted from all the teasing, but her sisters were delighted.

They had gotten every juicy detail they wanted—or at least, enough to keep them gossiping for days.

As Karen finally retreated to her room, she could still hear them giggling in the living room, whispering Ross’s name with playful disbelief.

And despite her embarrassment, she couldn’t help smiling to herself.

And with such a big secret, it was only a matter of time before a few close people in Karen’s life found out.

No secret ever stayed buried for long—especially not something as shocking as this.

“Is it true? You and Ross?” a beautiful woman asked one morning, her voice soft but laced with disbelief.

Karen looked up from the cup of coffee she was stirring absentmindedly.

Her heart skipped for a beat. “Where did you hear that, Eliza?” she asked, trying to sound calm, though her hand trembled slightly as she set the spoon down.

Eliza didn’t respond right away.

She crossed her arms and studied Karen closely, her sharp eyes reading every flicker of emotion on her face.

“Yes,” Karen finally said after a long silence. Her voice came out quieter than she intended. “It’s true. And it’s not… it’s not what you think.”

“Not what I think?” Eliza raised a brow. “Karen, you already have a fiancée and now this?”

Karen sighed and leaned back against her chair, her gaze drifting toward the window.

“It’s not like I’m planning to return to singing anytime soon. There’s nothing to return to. The zombies had taken over everything. The whole world has gone crazy.” She paused, then gave a faint, humorless smile.

Eliza’s expression softened for a moment, but concern quickly took over again.

“I understand, Karen. I really do. But Ross? He’s not exactly the kind of man I imagined you ending up with.”

Karen’s lips tightened. “I know. I can’t explain it. It just happened,” she replied quietly.

Karen could of course not say that she got bored with Marco and experimented with Ross which led her to spreading her legs for him in the end.

Eliza sighed, lowering her voice.

“Marco was okay, but Ross…” She hesitated, searching for the right words.

“He’s… unpredictable. Dangerous, even. You’re walking into something you might not be able to walk away from, Karen. I’m worried for you.”

Karen’s fingers tightened around her cup, and for a moment, she didn’t answer.

The warmth from the drink seeped into her hands, grounding her in the midst of her swirling thoughts.

“Maybe,” she murmured finally. “But Ross makes me feel alive again. After everything I’ve been through… maybe that’s all that matters.”

Eliza looked at her friend for a long time, seeing both strength and fragility in her expression.

“Just promise me you’ll be careful,” she said softly.

Karen met her gaze and nodded slowly. “I will. I promise.”

But deep inside, even she wasn’t sure if that was a promise she could keep.

***

Last but not least, Karen’s mother had also heard the rumors—but unlike others, she chose not to confront her daughter about them.

She trusted Karen’s judgment and believed that, in the end, her daughter had the right to make her own choices.

It was her life, after all.

So, she pretended not to know anything.

She went about her days as usual—or at least as normal as life could be in this strange new world they now lived in.

The days had a quiet, uneasy rhythm, filled with routines that were meant to keep everyone sane.

One afternoon, she decided to visit the library.
