Chapter 3202: Retrieval Artifact
Alex also found a few techniques among the loot that were a copy of the other White Tiger techniques. They were a poor attempt at copying them, so he found it hard to care.
Sadly, the purists tended to not carry on any other decent techniques. Not that Pearl needed to know any of them. He had enough good techniques as it was.
The artifacts were met with a similar level of lack of interest as well since most of them were okay at best. If an outsider were to see just what sort of artifacts were being called ‘okay’, they would likely have called Alex and the rest supremely privileged.
In a way, they were.
From Shanqiu’s corpse, Alex recovered a Divine grade knife-like artifact that Alex couldn’t make sense of at first. He couldn’t imagine how a tiger was supposed to hold the artifact, until he noticed circular clamps that were supposed to go onto something slender and long.
“A knife for a tail?” Alex asked, handing it over to Bai Jingshen.
“Yep! An artifact for our tail. Most don’t make good use of the tail, so it’s surprising to see anything created for it, but it’s not that surprising, I suppose.”
Bai Jingshen put it onto his tail, and it clamped on tightly. He turned toward the emptiness of Alex’s Soul Space and used the artifact.
A strong arrow-like golden shot flew out of Bai Jingshen’s tail, moving straight toward his imaginary target. For a moment, pain flared in Alex’s mind, one akin to a spiritual attack.
“Brother Shen, would you mind warning me next time? You nearly ripped my head open.”
“Huh? Oh, my apologies. I forgot we had to keep our cultivation base suppressed at all times,” he said.
Alex nodded. “It wasn’t so bad, but it still stung a little.”
In a way, not having his soul ripped open right then and there was a sign that his spiritual energy had improved so much since those days in the past. But that was to be expected after everything he went through in Hell.
Bai Jingshen tossed the artifact back to Pearl. “Keep it. It’ll be useful at the right time once you have Divine Qi.”
Pearl nodded and took that as well. By now, he had 2 different artifacts that he was looking forward to using when the time came.
Shanqiu had a lot of other things, but none that were worth spending time to go through. They simply separated it all into their respective piles and then moved on.
“Finally, the strongest tiger Pearl killed,” Alex said as he brought over the loot he had collected from Bai Yanbei’s Soul Space. He hadn’t looked through it all yet, so this would be his first time going through it while paying attention.
“Oh wow!” Pearl raised his eyebrows. “That’s a lot of Divine spirit stones. There’s nearly 20 thousand of them.”
“Yes, quite a bit,” Alex said with some surprise as well. “He was close to reaching the Divine realm, was he not?”
Pearl nodded.
Alex looked through the pills and couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows. Most of the other beasts had maybe a bottle with 9-veined pills at most, but Bai Yanbei had over 10 bottles. Such a thing would’ve cost a fortune to gather.
They weren’t just regular healing pills either. One of those bottles of pills was for helping improve the chances of forming Creations, which he had most certainly been hoping to use in the coming years.
Unfortunately, his hopes had been cut short, just like his life.
The talismans weren’t much to talk about, and neither were the formations. The artifacts, however, had some interesting things.
Bai Yanbei had 3 Divine artifacts in total. One was a claw artifact, another one an armor.
And finally, the third one was something Alex had never seen before.
It looked like a knife, if a knife had three blades coming out of one handle, each curving until they nearly touched at the tip again. It looked like a finger ready to scoop out something.
“What is—”
Bai Jingshen took the artifact before either Pearl or Alex could bring their words out.
Pearl looked up with a confused look and saw Bai Jingshen’s somewhat angry look on his face.
“What is that?” Pearl asked.
“A Blood Essence Retrieving Artifact,” Bai Jingshen explained. “This is what they were planning to use to steal yours.”
Pearl’s eye widened slightly. He too stared at the artifact with some level of hatred. Only Alex wasn’t as affected as the two.
“What do you want to do with it?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” Bai Jingshen said. “For now, I don’t want to destroy it. I don’t trust our emotions to make a proper decision right away. I want to wait until I have calmed a little more.”
“Can I hold onto it?” Alex asked.
Bai Jingshen thought for a moment before letting go of it. “I’ll trust you not to do anything rash with it.”
“Unlikely,” Alex said, before sending the artifact flying away. The artifact flew into the darkness of his Soul Space. “It’ll find its way to a better pile soon.”
Pearl looked back down at the two artifacts. “So, he had 3 Divine artifacts?”
“Four. I have the ship too, remember?”
“Oh, right. Four Divine artifacts. That sounds like a lot.”
Alex took a look at the claw and armor. “I think you should hold onto these two and use them once you have Divine Qi. I can’t imagine you would let me melt them and make various artifacts, do you?”
“I would,” Pearl said. “But, I’ll use them until you’re certain you can only make masterpieces.”
Pearl took the two artifacts and they flew into his Soul Space.
Alex looked at the gathered loot before him, a large smile forming on his face. “Well, don’t mind me when I say that we’ve managed to turn Pearl’s misfortune into a sizable fortune.”
“Yes,” Bai Jingshen said. “And you want to experiment using it all.”
Alex grinned. “What’s the point of having stuff if you’re not going to use it?”
