Chapter 3191: Head-On
Pearl was flabbergasted at Alex’s speed. He could sense him through his bond, moving toward him at a breakneck pace. He knew Alex was much stronger than him, but this speed was far beyond what he could imagine him producing.

In just less than an hour, Pearl could send more than just sensations through their bond and instead actual feelings. Then an hour later, they could send messages.

“What’s happening? Are you hurt? Did they find you?” Alex’s worried words came through their bond.

“I’m not hurt or in danger,” Pearl answered quickly. “But they did come to attack me. I had to rely on my physical strength to kill them.”

Alex fell silent. He knew what it meant for Pearl to use his physical strength. “What are we doing exactly? I should arrive in another half an hour.”

“Chasing a bastard,” Pearl said. “So I can kill him.”

Alex gave no response.

Just as Alex said, he arrived in the distance half an hour later. Pearl finally turned to the side, watching how Alex could have such a great speed. When he finally did, he realized that it wasn’t Alex that was fast at all.

It was his ship.

Alex’s Divine-grade flying ship, that he had won as a reward in the Alchemy tournament, was one of the greatest artifacts in his inventory. It was one of the three Divine-grade artifacts he had, the other two being a comb and an armor, neither of which he could use just yet.

But a ship only required Divine-grade spirit stones to run, and run it did.

The ship swept by Pearl, taking him into its deck. Pearl finally stopped running, taking in deep breaths. He hadn’t let it hamper him at all, but Pearl had been quite tired.

Alex patted him on the side and stared toward the ship far in the distance. “That’s the ship we’re following?”

“Yes,” Pearl said. “There’s a White Tiger in there, in the Immortal Spirit realm, that I’m going to kill.”

Alex looked at Pearl for a moment, his eyes narrowing. “Is he dangerous?”

“He’s running away from me. That should be answer enough,” Pearl said.

Alex nodded slightly. “Then do you need my help?”

Pearl shook his head. “Twenty-nine White Tigers came to kill me, and he’s the only one remaining. So long as I can get him off the ship, I’ll be fine.”

“Alright, let’s get closer.”

Alex’s ship sped up even more and the distance between the two ships grew closer.

For some time, Alex wondered why no Divinity had come to stop them. Considering the speed they were traveling at, it should have been considered too fast. But then, perhaps because it was being governed by Immortal cultivators, it was fine.

Whatever the case, they were ignoring them.

“That’s close enough,” Pearl said. “I’ll be back in a bit.”

In a flash, space shrank, and Pearl teleported.

Pearl’s arrival on the ship was sudden. Bai Yanbei, who was focused on taking the ship away, barely managed to turn around in time when Pearl tackled him.

The moment Pearl pounced on the tiger, he teleported again, taking him out of the ship. They both tumbled through the sky as they fell onto the ground, creating two different craters.

Pearl quickly got back up, and so did Bai Yanbei, both staring at each other with unhidden contempt.

The ships zoomed past them, flying far away now, leaving the two together.

Pearl let out a low growl. “I told you. I would kill you.”

Bai Yanbei let out a snort. “I’m not dead yet.”

Pearl nodded. “I can fix that.”

Pearl could have teleported, or shrank space, or distorted it. But he did none of that. Since he was all alone now, he wanted to beat this bastard head-on, just like he had asked.

Pearl charged simply and lunged at Bai Yanbei, his paw outstretched for an attack. Golden light covered Bai Yanbei’s body as he used his Divine Qi to defend against the attack.

At the same time, Bai Yanbei used the White Tiger’s Roar, sending Pearl’s mind into disarray. He got one lucky hit in during Pearl’s moment of confusion, sending Pearl tumbling backward.

However, thanks to Pearl’s physical strength, it had only resulted in a small wound. Pearl jumped right back into the fight and attacked again.

The fight continued for some time, both going back and forth as neither managed to get the upper hand right away. Both took hits, bleeding from various wounds, their fur marred red by their blood.

Alex had captured Bai Yanbei’s ship and put it away before coming back to check on Pearl. He watched from the air, not interfering in the slightest.

After a while, Pearl could feel the sluggishness in Bai Yanbei’s attack.

“How much longer can you hold on?” he asked. “Your Divine Qi should be running out any second now.”

Bai Yanbei stood as well, but he was so much weaker. “The seniors know we are dying. Someone will come to save us soon.”

“No one is saving you,” Pearl said. “Not after what you said.”

“The truth?” Bai Yanbei said again. “That’s right. Your mother was a whore. You don’t deserve that bloodline.”

Pearl didn’t get angry immediately. He looked up for a second, communicating with Alex momentarily.

Alex nodded and flew down. As he did, the entire area around them was quickly separated away from the outside world.

Only Pearl, Alex, and Bai Yanbei were left alone.

“What’s happening?” Bai Yanbei asked, panicked.

“You care about my bloodline so much, don’t you?” Pearl asked. “Why don’t I show you what I can do?”

A glowing red symbol appeared on Pearl’s forehead, a mark of the purity of his bloodline.

Bai Yanbei stared at the mark for a single second, his legs giving out from under him. His bloodline itself cowered before Pearl. He could fight back against this feeling, but it required so much strength, strength he didn’t have.

He stared at Pearl, eyes wide, with a single word coming to his mind. “King!”

Pearl stepped further, arriving before Bai Yanbei. “Gaze upon the power you so coveted, for that shall be the last thing you’ll ever see.”
