Chapter 3188: Destroyed
One of the two Pearls was instantly destroyed.

Bai Yanbei had followed him and killed him, but the damage was done. He had killed another two of the teleportation suppressors and was starting to feel a much lighter suppression on him.

There were only 3 more of the suppressors left, for a total of 17 White Tigers. Considering there had been 29 White Tigers to start with, Pearl could hardly believe that he had killed a dozen different White Tigers.

But he had, and he would do it again if given the chance.

Pearl felt his power bolstered as the other him flowed into the remaining him. He could hardly take in the power before Bai Yanbei rushed right at him again.

Pearl turned immediately, going for an actual fight this time, instead of running around. He sidestepped Bai Yanbei’s attack, stabbing back in retaliation. Yanbei took the attack head-on, continuing his assault. His claw came down, the power of his unformed Creation flowing through it.

Spear Domain appeared to the side again, allowing Pearl to parry the beast’s attack at the last moment, suffering no more than minor scratches.

Bai Yanbei growled. “Coward! Fight me head-on.”

Pearl had no intention of changing his fighting style. His fighting style was taught to him by one of the strongest humans alive in known history. Why would he ever change that?

Although, he wasn’t fully employing Grimsight’s teaching. If Grimsight had been watching, he would have told Pearl to move back and use his Spatial Contraction dao to use melee attacks from a distance.

Sadly, distance meant little when his enemy could arrive before him in the time it took to blink an eye. It was better to use his evasion techniques at close range and slowly whittle him down.

Unlike Pearl, Bai Yanbei’s physical strength was far too weak to survive attacks without using his Qi. So, as long as Pearl continued as he was, Bai Yanbei was no doubt going to run out of Qi.

‘I just have to kill those other 16 White Tigers first, starting with the 3 teleportation suppressors.’

However, every time Pearl’s eyes even turned toward the group, Bai Yanbei flared up with his own spatial suppression, which Pearl was now starting to believe was emboldened by the array as well.

Pearl took another few quick glances to find the proper targets should he manage to get out of this situation. But there weren’t any that he could see he could get to easily.

His focus couldn’t last too long there as the threat before him wasn’t something he could so actively ignore. He still fought Bai Yanbei with all of his attention, but in the back of his mind, a strange worrying thought formed in Pearl’s mind.

Pearl couldn’t put the thoughts to words right then, not when he was so busy trying to dodge each attack. But the worry still grew slightly more and more, and then when he saw the group of White Tigers again, the worry took a form.

Bai Shanqiu was missing.

Pearl only just noticed that when Bai Yanbei struck out with his claw again. Pearl moved to block it, but at the last moment, Bai Yanbei struck the ground in front of him instead of anywhere on Pearl.

A suppressive Intent covered Pearl just then, stopping him from using his spatial techniques, and the force of the blast before him was enough to send him tossing.

Pearl was merely halfway in the air when the missing Shanqiu appeared midair, pink hue covering her jaw in the shape of a crystalline maw, and she bit down at Pearl.

Pearl flipped at the last second, placing his spear before him to stop the attack. Bai Shanqiu bit on the spear itself.

They both landed on the ground, and Pearl assaulted her body with Spear Domain, but her body glowed golden with the White Tiger’s Dominating Body. She was part of the array as well.

Pearl pulled on the spear with both hands, trying to get it out of her maw, but Bai Shanqiu didn’t let go. Instead, she bit down harder, twisting her neck to one side at an impossible angle.

Like a spring gaining tension, her head snapped in the opposite direction, the momentum far too quick for Pearl or the spear.

Pearl spun in the air, the world turning upside down. And as he did, he saw the pieces of the spear spreading out. Pearl’s eyes widened for a moment as he realized what had happened.

The Rosesteel Spear he had been using since he received it back in the Myriad Spirit realm was now destroyed.

Pearl quickly made himself upright in an instant, his face still carrying the shock of watching the pieces of his weapon moving in two separate directions.

Pearl turned to the right where the upper third of the spear was still spinning through the air. Without a second thought, he reached out for it, his arm extending through the space to grab at the piece.

The next moment, it was in his hand and already on its way to Shanqiu’s head.

Bai Shanqiu’s defensive technique had just run out when Pearl stabbed her through her left eye.

The woman wrenched her head back, roaring in pain, pulling the spear tip with her.

‘Tsk!’ Pearl thought, realizing the stab was far too shallow to reach her brain in her current form. Before he could try and push it further, Bai Yanbei appeared, forcing Pearl to move.

Bai Yanbei gave one look at Shanqiu before turning back toward Pearl. He was barely hiding the smug look on his face, happy that Pearl had lost his spear.

The beast hardly believed he had another spear as good as the one he had been using, or one he was as used to.

He was right.

Pearl had a few other spare spears, but none that were good enough for this battle.

“Fine,” he said in the end. “I’ll give you what you want.”

Pearl’s body slowly glowed as he transformed. And finally, for the first time since coming to the Fighting Island, he was prepared to fight in his natural beast form.
