Chapter 1442: Golden Armor (Part 2)
Menax, who had been watching Adam’s journey for a long time and preparing for their battle, knew what his opponent was capable of.

The path, one of Adam’s most powerful abilities, was something Menax was ready for. He understood that he would not be able to avoid it and that there was no way to completely nullify the damage. It was a case of guaranteed injury, and all Menax could do was stay as far away from Adam as possible.

Despite the fact that Menax feared this ability the most, he was largely fortunate.

Adam used the path to escape from the golden cage and destroy the laser. By the time Adam reached Menax, most of the power of his path had been lost. But even so, Menax’s face contorted in pain when the long needle pierced his shoulder.

Blood spurted out, rushing past Adam’s cold gaze. He knew that no barriers imposed by Menax could hold him back.

However…

“Hahaha! What happened, Adam?” Menax exclaimed as the path continued, they moving at tremendous speed along the canyon. “Did you think you could defeat me again with your path?! I have a final trump card too!”

For some time now, a dense golden energy had covered Menax’s body as he held tightly onto Adam’s needle, unafraid of its sharp edges.

‘Last trump card?’ Adam thought. ‘In that, he’s probably right. I have nothing left, just like him. Although… he still hasn’t seen what my Stellar Nexus is capable of.’

“Don’t forget, you also don’t know what he’s going to do next.” The Silver Weaver’s voice rang in his head. “You should continue using the staff. We put all our power into the path, we pushed it to its limit, so… I don’t think we can do anything else.”

Adam nodded internally. ‘I understand. Don’t worry, we destroyed his golden skeleton, that’s more than enough to reach the final stage.’

With a bright flash, golden bone armor covered Menax, protecting his chest, arms, and legs, everything except his head, as his eyes shone brightly with a slight madness.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

“Agh?”

Adam’s eyes darted downward, looking at the cracks quickly covering his needle. The only reason for this was Menax’s powerful grip. Now, with golden armor, he didn’t have to worry about the blades cutting off his fingers.

Nothing but the path could hurt him anymore.

“Alright, Adam, it’s time for me to get rid of your needle!” Menax exclaimed as his muscles tensed.

Crackle!

The needle shattered into fragments, flying past Adam’s shocked eyes.

Before Adam could react, Menax’s fist slammed into his face. Blood gushed from his nose as the impact threw him back dozens of meters.

Whoooooosh.

He swung his staff, cutting through the dust cloud. His face burned with pain, and streams of blood ran down, but he couldn’t pay attention to that because his opponent was closing in on him.

Menax stepped forward casually as a gleam ran across his armor.

“What do you say, Adam? Now none of your weapons can hurt me!” He spread his arms wide as a smirk crossed his face. “But that’s not all!”

With a bright flash, a great spear with a long, broad tip appeared in Menax’s grasp. This spear possessed enough energy to fight Adam’s needle on equal terms.

However, Menax was not invulnerable, and Adam immediately noticed his weak spot.

“Huh, even if your armor is strong, so what?” Adam chuckled. “I can see your aura perfectly, Menax. I can see it trembling like an unstable flame. Just to maintain this form, you’re spending massive amounts of energy every second, aren’t you?”

Strangely enough, Menax did not deny it. Adam was right, it was Menax’s last trump card. Until that moment, he had only used the golden armor a few times, and it had always been in critical situations.

He knew he had no chance against Adam if he didn’t do it.

“Well, what can I say?” Menax spread his arms and shook his head. “Every ability has its drawbacks. But you can be sure I have enough energy to deal with you!”

The next moment, Menax lunged forward. A golden explosion behind him tore up the ground as he headed toward Adam at tremendous speed.

In the blink of an eye, he was in front of Adam, gripping his spear tightly with both hands and swinging it in a wide arc.

All Adam had time to do was hold his staff in front of him when the spear blade struck the staff from below.

The impulse passed through Adam’s body as the golden light bursting from the spear blade threw him high into the air.

Before he could regain his balance, Menax appeared to his right, aiming straight for Adam’s heart.

Acting on instinct, Adam blocked the attack again, then again and again.

He couldn’t keep up with the pace of the fight as Menax moved too quickly, attacking from different angles to destabilize Adam as much as possible.

“Come on, Adam! Is that all your new weapon can do?! It seems your ugly staff is nothing compared to my spear!” Menax exclaimed as he made his next strike.

Adam opened his eyes as he found himself in the middle of gray clouds, with only the white moonlight falling on his face.

“Agh…” He sighed deeply, knowing that Menax was already preparing to launch his next attack. “I didn’t think I’d have to do this so soon, but there’s no other choice.”

BAM!

With a golden flash, the spear pierced his stomach, leaving a deep gash in his side.

Menax remained floating among the clouds, watching as Adam fell to the ground, clutching his staff tightly.

“You’ll help me, won’t you?” he asked inwardly.

Silvana nodded deeply as her eyes filled with determination.

“Without a doubt. Like Menax, you need a lot of energy, but unlike him, you have me.”

Adam smiled weakly as he ran his hands over his staff.

“Yeah…” he croaked. “That’s my biggest advantage.”

Then, his grip tightened as a crack ran through the staff, releasing a bright, purple light.
