Chapter 1441: Golden Armor (Part 1)
The Star Prism was a powerful tool that allowed the Artifact and Nexus to be merged into one.

Basically, it was the main reward of the Second Grand Star. It seemed worse than the two Star Runes from the First Grand Star that allowed Adam to improve two abilities at once, but it all depended on the outcome.

“This…”

Adam muttered as he looked at the Evolution Tree, at the simple-looking black staff floating in the middle of his inner space.

At that moment, he did not yet know what power his new weapon would possess, and that this was not all.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The black staff trembled as ghostly copies of dark gloves and boots appeared next to it. They appeared only for a moment before returning into the black staff.

[The Star Prism has created a new part of your power—the Stellar Nexus.]

“Stellar Nexus…?” Adam muttered, confused. He didn’t know how to react to this.

He believed that his previous Nexus possessed tremendous power, especially when he was finally able to activate the fifth ring. The same was true of the Dual Demon Sword. These two weapons had helped him overcome the most difficult trials.

But Menax was too strong. He surpassed both Ureyn and Erada, not only in terms of power but also in spirit.

Adam needed something more, and the Second Grand Star created the best that was possible in this situation.

Adam nodded deeply. He understood what a defeat the Path Construct was talking about.

“Damien… That was a long time ago, hah. He used a regular rod that was part of some monster, and that was enough to beat the shit out of me. Hah, he didn’t even use his ability and set his power below my level. He’s definitely not human, he’s a fucking monster…”

The Path Construct was not mistaken.

Of all the opponents Adam had fought, Damien was actually the strongest. Sure, it wasn’t a fight to the death, and Damien didn’t use even 1% of his true power. However, Adam remembered it. He wanted to reach that level and become just as strong.

It was the only real way to at least try to stop the World Wipe.

“I see. Staff of Defeat? Huh, quite an insulting name, but…” Adam paused as he watched the black staff become part of the Evolution Tree. “I already feel like it was worth it. Now, all parts of my power are part of you, aren’t they?”

The Evolution Tree did not respond, but everyone understood what Adam meant.

He had little time, he had to return to the battle.

“Alright, it’s time to show Menax what I’m capable of now.”

Some time had passed since then. Menax had seen how fast Adam was and that his black staff was impossible to break. His aura and black eyes alarmed Menax, but he had not yet seen everything Adam was capable of.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

The golden fingers spread apart under the immense pressure of Adam’s grip.

Menax’s eyes widened as he could not believe what he was seeing.

“Is he doing this with just physical strength?” he thought. “No… It’s not just that. His gloves give him such enormous might. Tsk, I should have realized this earlier!”

Menax’s aura became brighter when two more arms appeared on the golden skeleton. For Menax, this was a dangerous line. He had almost reached his limit.

A trickle of blood came from the corner of his mouth as two golden palms closed in on Adam, preventing him from escaping through the gap.

“Shit, if this continues, I might actually lose…” Menax croaked as he shook his head. “In that case, I have to end this right here and now!”

All of Menax’s energy was directed at the golden skeleton as its skull trembled. The hollow eye sockets flashed with a bright flame as the skeleton opened its jaw.

The destructive laser was launched in Adam’s direction before he could escape from the golden cage.

It was bound to cause Adam serious damage. If he had a little more time, he could break the palms, but in a split second, the full power of the laser would hit him.

“Come on. Are you really going to find a way to respond this time? No matter how strong you’ve become, you can’t destroy the golden palms so quickly!”

The light from the approaching laser fell on the golden cage, and a tiny gap remained visible, from which, through a slit in the fingers, two black eyes stared intently at Menax.

“Agh…?”

Menax shuddered.

“Are you kidding me…?”

At the last moment, the world slowed down as the enormous force of the golden palms shattered into dozens of pieces.

All Menax could see was Adam holding his needle in front of him, moving forward on his path. Nothing could stop him, neither the remains of the golden arms nor the laser flying straight at him.

His grand path collided with the laser, shattering it into myriad golden pieces that scattered like sparks, covering the bottom of the canyon.

If this weren’t a battle between two dangerous creatures, it would have been an enchanting sight in the middle of the night, comparable to a beautiful starry sky.

“You fuck…”

THRUST!

Blood gushed from Menax’s mouth as the tip of the needle pierced his shoulder, propelling him forward at tremendous speed.

But, instead of admitting defeat, he grinned and grabbed Adam’s needle while golden energy covered his body.

“It’s time for the final trump cards, right?”

He grunted, gritting his teeth in pain.

“Then be ready, because I will show no mercy!”
