Chapter 1433: Golden Light (Part 1)
It seemed that the hunters were acting too radically, but it was the only right choice for them. No one could trust anyone, and everyone wanted to get everything for themselves because Adam was alone and there were many of them.

Thus, Adam’s plan was set to succeed.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Every few seconds, explosions rang out behind them, shaking the entire Grand Canyon. Adam didn’t even turn around, knowing that right now the hunters were getting rid of the weak, and soon only one would remain among them — the strongest.

Fire, wind, ice, earth, and lightning collided with each other, as did darkness, light, and many other elements. Each hunter had an arsenal of abilities that he used as his weapon, but after ten minutes, the battles grew quieter.

At that moment, Adam turned around as his eyes widened.

Numerous corpses covered the great canyon as a young man in a dark cloak ran through the air. With each step he took, a golden plate appeared under his foot for a moment, allowing him to move at a relatively high speed.

Several scratches on his legs and shoulder showed that he had participated in the battle, as did his deep golden eyes, reflecting his bloody, brutal victory over each hunter. His black hair was tousled, swaying slightly with each step he took.

‘So it’s him?’ Adam thought, trying to remember if he had seen this young man somewhere before.

However, all Adam could see was the emblem of a skull pierced by a sword. He had never seen such an emblem on any monster before and could not remember anyone at Izardo having it.

Sure, he hadn’t spent much time on the city streets and hadn’t stared at every passerby, but it seemed strange to him that this skull looked familiar, as if he should have seen it somewhere before.

“Do you know anything about this?” Adam asked.

Silvana shook her head. “No, I can check later, but right now we have other things to do, don’t we?”

“Yeah.” Adam nodded, staring at the young man and looking ahead. “That happened a little faster than I thought. He’s strong, that’s for sure, although I didn’t see what exactly happened, and I can’t sense his aura. Well, let’s see what he’s capable of. If he can’t catch up to me, there won’t be a fight between us!’

It was true. The young man wasn’t moving very fast, even now, the distance between them was gradually increasing as if the last hunter couldn’t catch up to Adam.

Well, he decided to find out for sure.

Whooooooosh.

Adam flapped his wings as he sped up, rushing forward with a wind rush.

Strangely enough, when Adam turned around, he saw that the young man was in no hurry to catch up with him. On the contrary, the young man stopped, while his golden eyes stared intently at Adam.

‘What? What is he doing?’ Adam was puzzled.

The first thing he thought was that it was a trap or some kind of plan, and now other hunters would appear from the side, but… they were all dead.

This young man was the last and strongest hunter who had ended the lives of several of them, getting his chance to fight Adam and ultimately kill him to become stronger.

However, first, the young man had to catch up with Adam.

He had another plan.

Without alarm, the young man reached out his hand as his eyes flashed.

Instinctively, Adam looked up as his eyes widened in disbelief.

A massive, bone arm, as if from a giant golden skeleton, appeared out of nowhere, crashing down on him with its palm.

Despite his speed and power level, Adam did not have time to react.

BAM!

Like a projectile, he crashed down the canyon as the bone arm clenched its palm and slammed its fist down on the spot where he had fallen.

Whooooooosh.

At the last moment, Adam flew out of the dust cloud, landing in the middle of the canyon, just like his opponent.

‘What the hell was that?!’ Adam exclaimed internally. He didn’t remember any of his opponents having such power.

However, the young man did not continue his attack. He lowered his hand as the bone arm disappeared, along with its portal.

“Now,” the young man’s voice rang out in a calm tone. “Will you stop running away or decide to test my abilities again?”

Sure, Adam could do that, but the young man had demonstrated that he could easily stop Adam. He could have done it much earlier, but first he had to get rid of the other hunters.

“Hah, I see. To be honest, I thought my opponent, the strongest of the hunters, would be someone else.”

“Well, what can I say?” The young man raised his gaze. “Just that I destroyed your expectations.”

Then, Adam narrowed his eyes.

“What is your name?”

The young man’s aura grew stronger, bursting out in a golden, grim glow.

“My name is Menax, the Golden Watcher.”

‘It’s been a long time since I fought someone with a title. Hah, this should be interesting.’

Menax looked around before staring at Adam.

“I’ve been watching you, Adam Vinter. I know how you achieved your current level of power, and I know you fought at the Forgotten Mills before coming to Izardo. You’ve come a long way, but sooner or later, everything comes to an end.”

Coldness filled Menax’s eyes, sending a shiver down Adam’s back.

“I want you to know this, Adam Vinter, I came to kill you and absorb your energy. You will be the next step on my path, very soon, you just don’t understand it yet.”

Adam frowned. For some reason, he felt that Menax’s words were not an attempt to humiliate him, but his honest intentions, which he believed in.

“In that case, you’ll have to try hard. Since you’ve been following me, you know that I’m not the easiest opponent.”

In response, Menax nodded.

“Of course, Adam Vinter, the stellar phantom. It’s not easy to gain recognition from the strongest beings in the world. But do you really think you’re the only one?”

“Agh…?”

Menax waved his hand, and without warning, several golden bone arms appeared out of nowhere, trapping Adam in their palms.

“You see,” Menax muttered. “This is your encounter with a stellar monster, Adam Vinter. And, I will do whatever it takes to make this your last encounter as well.”
