691: The Mysterious Black Hand Gang 691: The Mysterious Black Hand Gang “You’re leaving?” Nerim asked as she placed her gauntlets onto the dressing table.

After booking three rooms at the medium-grade inn, Asmodeus visited the party before he went to browse the streets.  “Mm, where are Logan and the others?”  He’d checked the men’s room a moment before, only to find they were gone.

But when he knocked on Nerim’s door, she dragged him inside with a strange expression.  “A-Ah…” She stepped into the second room and, with a rustle, started changing her clothes.

“Logan and Thorim wanted to find a blacksmith to assess the materials.” Her steps echoed in the silent room as he sat on the bed.

“Zahir seemed interested in the market and left with his cut of the pay.” ‘I can’t blame them, because the guild paid us well for clearing the maw.’ “How is your body?”  Clack!

Asmodeus curled his lips at the noise as something fell before Nerim’s movements reverberated from the room, along with her rushed breathing.

Her atmosphere reminded him of Ciela and Erika, and so he tried to calm the young mermaid.

“Don’t rush yourself.”  “…Nn…”  The last sound she made was a soft murmur; after that, the fastening of her fabric and quiet steps followed before she finally revealed herself.  ‘Wow.’ “You look amazing, is that your native style?”  A loose silk wrapped around Nerim’s hips and figure; it resembled a belly dancer that Asmodeus saw in games and fantasy novels in the past.

She wore a soft blue silk tunic that covered her chest, revealing her toned abs and shiny bronze skin and a double-slitted long skirt that revealed her thick thighs and long legs.

“How does it look?” She teased him with an elegant twirl.

Her skirt floated in the air as a heavier white fabric covered her upper thigh and crotch.

‘…’ It reminded him of when she performed the ritual in the dungeon, and he couldn’t help but speak honestly.  “Suits you perfectly.” “Hmph, so you do know!” Then, without another word, she grabbed a small ring from the shelf and some silver bracelets embedded with jewels.

A moment later, she tapped various items against them, and they vanished.  “Item storage?” Because he used magic for himself these days, the thought of wearing jewellery with that kind of enchantment felt like a waste. But for people who couldn’t cast the same magic or use the goddess’s system, he realised how awkward life must be.

“Mhm, doesn’t it look pretty?

The more I store the more the gems sparkle.”  With each step, her anklets and bracelets clanged together, and yet the tone and melody helped calm Asmodeus.  It was so amazing he couldn’t help but watch her in silence, curious about each movement, how she shifted her hips with each step, and tapped the floor upon stepping.  ‘Such perfect and enchanting movements, as if her body is in a constant dance.’ Suddenly, while half enchanted, she peeked back with a grin on her face.

“Do you like it?

The magic of a siren is quite useless in battle, but to entice men~ it’s quite strong.” If not for her red cheeks and the way she shifted uncomfortably, her bragging might have passed the check.

However, Asmodeus soon snapped out of his trance and snapped his fingers, causing the mystical atmosphere to shatter.

“Ah!?” “Well, it’s quite interesting that it worked on me even if only a little.

I just found your movements and dance captivating.” “Y-You!” The strong-willed mermaid-kin turned bright red as her scales deepened.

In reality, she just wanted to show off and discover the strange feeling that lingered in her chest each time she spoke to the odd human.

He dressed strangely, yet his charm could match a pureblooded siren.  At least, that was her conclusion.

Asmodeus grew accustomed to the desert warrior attire he borrowed from Zahir, puffy pants with a tight belt and exposing his muscular and broad upper body.

Thanks to his demon markings that each resembled one of his wives, and the black hide that covered his arms, like elegant and high-grade gloves.  He resembled an extremely charming dessert warrior thanks to his bronze skin.

“What’s the matter?” He vanished from the bed and stepped out of the shadows beside the door, causing the cute woman to jump.

“Are we not leaving together?”  “W-Who said I was going with you!?”  Despite this, her hand reached out for his as they left the room.

From the moment he came to the door to this moment, she lamented always losing to this man.

“Hmm…

is there something wrong, I can go alone-” “No!” She gripped his hand and glanced down, her lips parting as she noticed the size difference for the first time.  Ever since he absorbed the life essence and aura of an Abyssal, he couldn’t contain his true figure.

Even in his human form, he’d grown to almost seven feet tall, and his shoulders were as broad as in his demon state.

Nerim was tall and strong for a female, because her race was typically dainty and fair.  “So where do you want to go, princess?”  “I’m hungry.” She pouted, but didn’t correct him, tucking her chin as she leaned against his arm.  For her, Asmodeus was like a fire that didn’t cease burning, his arm keeping her warm in the cool evening breeze.

While for Asmodeus, her cool skin felt comfortable in the sticky, humid weather, different from Lumeria.

‘I think Serena is going to get angry at me.’ He thought to himself while glancing down at the girl eating stall food with sparkling eyes.  He closed his eyes and bought a serving for himself while taking in the surroundings.

A strange experience, people dancing, singing and exchanging goods, it reminded him of the festivals in his old world mixed with the celebrations he saw on television.

The pair spent an hour browsing various stalls, eating food from different regions of the mainland.

Most of the best food came from Zahir and Nerim’s homelands.

But he couldn’t help but find the empire’s cuisine too similar to Grigor’s, which lacked the same exotic flavours.

“STOP THAT KID!” A voice suddenly shouted through the crowd.

Asmodeus paid attention because of the movements of the young child, a small yet agile little girl who almost stepped on the wind with each movement.

Behind her were dozens of men in dark outfits, their faces covered, and a strange tattoo on their shoulders.

“Damn, it’s those ruffians again!” A store owner recoiled and started to shut his store.

The fear on the faces around them made Asmodeus even more curious.

“The Black Hand Gang!

That kid’s done for…” “Who is the girl?” Asmodeus asked, while leaning close to the store owner, packing up, leaving a coin on the table.  “A-Ah, respected guest, you shouldn’t get involved.

Those crooks are related to the city’s dark guild.

Rape, Murder, Kidnapping…

If you can think of anything bad, they’re doing it!” “The city guard don’t stop them?”  Asmodeus felt Nerim squeeze his hand.

Without her spear, fighting would be dangerous, but he knew she couldn’t turn a blind eye.  “Peh!

The guards are on their payroll.

Listen customer, you should return to your inn.

Trouble with those bastards won’t end well…” The merchant then gave more information as the girl’s movements continued.

She jumped along a wall before gliding in the air, her feet shimmering with green light, as her hood flung back, revealing long, pointed ears and small horns sprouting from her forehead.

‘A demon?!’ Although not the same type as Asmodeus, his wives and knights…

he could feel it.

She was a demon, maybe an Eastern or special variant. The image of his daughter Nyxielle and Seris appeared when she narrowly avoided a dagger tossed at her chest.

“Nerim.” “Mm, I’ll support you.”  The mermaid nodded with a smile as if she expected this to happen.

“W-Wait, Customer!?

Didn’t you hear what I said-” Asmodeus vanished from sight, his speed so fast the surrounding stalls cracked and lost their cloth roofing before he stood atop another shop wall, and reached out.

“Kyak!?” The young demon made a cute sound as Asmodeus caught her in his arms.

“Don’t struggle, I will keep you safe.”  “!?”  Asmodeus hid his face and body using his mana; a swirling black robe hid his features from the others while he glared at the men in black who stood beneath him.

“Why are they chasing you?” “….” The girl didn’t answer.

“Well, whatever.

Since we are of the same kind, I will help you escape them.”  Her eyes shone when he mentioned they were the same kind.

Asmodeus then leapt into the air.

He spread his wings, formed of pure aura abruptly flapped, sending them flying through the sky, avoiding the chasing rogues.

With a single stop, he jumped past several buildings, rushing towards the inn with the girl in his arms.

Asmodeus jumped one last time before gliding, his body drifting through the evening sky.

He noticed Logan and Thorim arguing with a stubborn-looking dwarf and smiled.

The moment they reached the high-class area where their inn was located, he dropped and slammed into his room with a thud.

“Kyaaaaaaaaa!” “Shh.”  With a sudden bang, the pair landed in the middle of his large private room.  The girl struggled and slipped out of his grasp before jumping back to take distance, while holding a small black dagger.

A cheap blade made of stone that couldn’t harm Asmodeus even if he lay on the floor exposed.

“W-Why did you help me!?” However, Asmodeus just examined the young demon and tilted his head and sniffed the air before he complained.

“Why are you so dirty…

you need a bath.” It was at that moment that Nerim slipped into the room using the key Asmodeus had handed her earlier.

She panted while adjusting her breathing.

Her bronze skin dripped with sweat as she uncovered her face.  “Ryuji, who is that girl?” But he didn’t respond, because of the slave collar on the girl’s neck…
